time to flush away our bad moods!

[ Well, that was a super show! Which means it's time for a super party!

To celebrate being alive, of course; a couple of hours after the trial's ended, there'll be a note slid under every (occupied) door... and also pasted to the hallway's walls, just in case your character's not in theirs. Gotta make it visible somehow! ]



[ When they enter the dining room, it's, uh..... it's very decorated; there's fabrics and scraps acting as streamers across the walls, the tables are covered with large sheets of various colors like tablecloths... things like that. It's obvious some people had a good time decorating (♥ Thanks Inigo ♥).

There's also refreshments, as promised! Tea for drinks, mostly, and the "build your own parfait" bar has made a stunning comeback, now featuring boiled eggs as an acceptable topping. There's also some food that aren't parfaits to make a little variety, courtesy of Mozu: rice, veggies prepared a good couple ways, fried fish.... Farm girl stuff, essentially. ]

[ Katniss is helping to clean up, too, mostly because she needs something to do with her hands that isn't punching something. She spots Isaac, and pauses what she's doing. ]

... Hey.

[glaciates]

[Not punching things is always good!! Isaac glances up when he's addressed and nods awkwardly.]

Hi.

[...we're doing so well today.]

[flagitate]

[ Oh, good, the two most awkward people here. Excellent. ]

... Need any help?

[glaciates]

I'm alright.

[. . .]

But uh, thanks. For the offer.

[riveting conversation!!!]

[flagitate]

... Yeah. You're welcome.

[ This is going so well!! ]

... You okay, though? After. That. [ whatever the hell that was. ]

[glaciates]

I've been better. But so has everyone else.

[...]

I'll be alright though. Keep moving forward.

[The words are a bit mechanical and something about that bothers him, though he doesn't want to stop to figure out what it is.]

[flagitate]

Yeah. Only thing we can do.

[ She fiddles with one of the tablecloths. ]

... He was an idiot. "An opportunity."

[glaciates]

[Isaac pauses, just sort of staring down at the table while he considers that.]

...Yeah. He was an idiot. Looking at death as an opportunity... I can't imagine it.

[The words are lacking any sort of bite though; he wants to be angry because at least that would be familiar and easy, but he's not.]

[flagitate]

Neither can I.

[ Her voice sounds almost hollow. Tired. She's killed before--if that dream is, in fact, a memory--and she must've before that, if she won her first Games. ]

Killing someone innocent without a single regret, it's-- [ Disgusting. ]

[glaciates]

Disgusting. I'm not sure how anyone can do something like that and not regret it.

[flagitate]

... Yeah. More than disgusting.

[ She runs her fingernails along the table. ]

I wish I could've punched him.

[glaciates]

...We really didn't need to disturb what little peace was left there. Fighting wouldn't have solved anything. We all knew he was going to die anyway.

[Don't get him wrong, Rideaux deserved at least that much. But Rideaux also had those scalpels on him and nothing left to lose. Maybe he would have tried to take someone else down with him. Maybe he wouldn't have. Isaac doesn't know, but it's easier to rationalize it like that.]
