time to flush away our bad moods!

[ Well, that was a super show! Which means it's time for a super party!

To celebrate being alive, of course; a couple of hours after the trial's ended, there'll be a note slid under every (occupied) door... and also pasted to the hallway's walls, just in case your character's not in theirs. Gotta make it visible somehow! ]



[ When they enter the dining room, it's, uh..... it's very decorated; there's fabrics and scraps acting as streamers across the walls, the tables are covered with large sheets of various colors like tablecloths... things like that. It's obvious some people had a good time decorating (♥ Thanks Inigo ♥).

There's also refreshments, as promised! Tea for drinks, mostly, and the "build your own parfait" bar has made a stunning comeback, now featuring boiled eggs as an acceptable topping. There's also some food that aren't parfaits to make a little variety, courtesy of Mozu: rice, veggies prepared a good couple ways, fried fish.... Farm girl stuff, essentially. ]

[ Katniss is pretty worried about her, after her reaction to what Rideaux revealed. So, she walks on over and sits next to her, then offers her a cup of tea. Mint. ]

How are you doing?

[Angel smiles a little as she takes the tea, by way of a thank you.]

I've been better, but... I'm alive.

... Yeah. I'm glad for that.

[ Really, she is. Angel's been through a hell of a lot, and Katniss hesitates before saying, ]

The trial--it hit you really hard, huh?

[She sighs. She hasn't exactly hidden it, has she?]

Yeah, I... I guess it did.

Do you want to talk about it? I'll listen.

I don't know, I just... I didn't want to end up airing "hey my dad's a rich murderous psychopath" to the whole room, you know? Among other things.

[She sighs.]

The sad part is the strangling isn't even close to the worst I've seen him do, and now all the worse stuff is just playing on loop in my head.

[ Oh.

... Oh. Shit. ]

I guess the strangling thing was my fault. [ ...... ] I'm... sorry, Angel.

No, Katniss, it... it's fine. It's... nice, actually, to use how much I know about killing from watching him to help in the trials. And he wants to wipe out all undesirable life on a planet and opened up a massive facility just to see what happens when you inject dangerous substances into animals, so... I've got plenty of material to work with.

[ ... That... definitely doesn't make her feel any better. She's still worried--even more so than she was before. ]

... Your dad's seriously like that?

[ What the hell. ]

He wasn't always, but... I think the good part of him died when mom did.

["Which was my fault" but she is not at the point where she can really grapple with that part of the situation herself, much less open up to other people about it.]

He's a really bad person, now.

[ ... What she's saying hits a little too close to home, but at least Katniss's mother didn't go crazy when Dad died. ]

If we get out of here, I'll punch him for you.
