Week 9.

WEEK 9 Another week, another pair of losses, dropping your number down to less than a third of the original; Katniss Everdeen and Mahiru Hiiragi are dead, and for several people here, most of their close friends have died. There are so few of you now. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Sunday morning will find the Adjudicator's office locked and inaccessible; he won't answer to any amount of knocking, either. Maybe that will change as the week goes on; maybe he's just gone for a short time, maybe he's straight-up abandoned you. Who knows with him. Another set of doors has opened up, straight down the center hallway. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; you've been doing very well. COMPETITORS REMAINING: 9

Maybe! [ ...she has no idea what Jean's talking about, but anyway—SORRY FOR SNEAKING UP ON YOU, JEAN, THIS IS JUST A THING THAT HAPPENS.

Something that also happens: Aligula holding out the top and anklets that Jean asked her to rework the primrose-like flowers of. Inigo had given her a handful of ideas—snow drops, blue irises, nasturtiums, gladiolus... and she'd found calycanthus to be befitting of Jean herself.

So in its place is something that looks like a flower made up of the petals of those listed flowers. It probably looks like a bit of a colorful mess, but she feels like them being all together like this means something important. Like the ones she'd done for Juri. ] Doooo these work? There's, uh...

[ ... ]

Snow drop and blue iris [ she'll point their petals out ] for hope, and nasturtium [ there ] for victory, and gladiolus [ that ] for generosity and strength of character! Inigo suggested them. And this one [ the last one she hasn't pointed out yet ] is calycanthus! I read it symbolizes benevolence.

I might've gone a liiittle overboard, but I couldn't decide on just one of them... but it would've looked too crowded and like a corsage if I put them all in? So I thought pieces would be nicer! Like, all of them make up what you're working towards.

[Jean gapes for a second. At first, she doesn't realize that that's a hybrid of like half the flower meanings dictionary -- there's really a flower like this? What kind of world grows such mind-blowing flowers like this??

And as Aligula explains, the shock wears off a bit, and Jean expression softens.

Well, let's be honest here. She did go overboard. It's wild, chaotic, and crazy. Most people would probably find it gaudy...]

Overboard? Aligula, this is gorgeous! It's like you captured a whole rainbow in a single flower!

[ OH GOOD, SHE LIKES IT. Damn straight she better like 'em, she worked hard— ]

Did I? [ ...she knows she did, she's actually rather smug about it. ] I'm glad you like it! It was a lot of wooork, Jean, if you hated it I totally would've like, cried about it...

Make sure you wear it sometime this week, okay? I wouldn't want anyone to miss it because of... well, you know what happens almost every week.

[And then, a beat as she stops to think about it...]

Hm. Maybe it's a good thing my Blue Dragon uniform never turned up. I've gone from having very little to wear to having a lot of things to consider wearing...

Is it like a mascot costume?

[ ...SHE'S IMAGINING AN ACTUAL BLUE DRAGON SHUT UP ]

Huh? No, not like that! It's a fighting uniform!

It's more like... [She stands up, so she can use her hands to trace where things go.]

It has a green vest that hugs close to the torso, and there's a black-and-white sash that ties around the torso like so... the leggings are yellow, and they're nice and loose to allow for ease of movement...

[To clarify -- yes, she did just say that the Blue Dragon uniform is green and yellow.]

It sounds like a mess. Why's it green and yellow if it's for the Blue Dragons? Shouldn't it be blue? Or at least have some blue on it?

[ THE REAL QUESTIONS. ]

It looks fine the way it is, though! Besides, the Blue Dragon's wings go from blue, to green, to yellow, to a little bit of red at the ends -- also like a rainbow. It's only missing a few of the colors!

Let's tie-dye the white parts to complete the rainbow! It'll look fun and awesome!

I'm pretty sure that counts as dishonoring the uniform. [... but she has to admit. ] ... it would look really cool, though.
