Trustfell 5: A Good Day to Trust Fall ([personal profile] trustfellowship) wrote in [community profile] trustfelled2017-06-05 11:51 am

Week 1.

WEEK 1

Despite how unhelpful she seems, one thing has become very clear after talking to the Transmitter: there's no way out of here. It seems like you're stuck here for the time being and the rules the Transmitter told you about are still hanging in every room. You'll be left up to your own devices now – feel free to continue exploring and getting to know your fellow Patients for the next several days. Should you want to eat something you're free to use the kitchen before 10PM, but after that the doors will be locked and no amount of fussing with the locks or trying to break them down will get them to budge.

However, your wake-up call in the morning isn't exactly a pleasant one - loud bursts of static over the intercom can be heard early in the morning, pulsing almost as though it's following some sort of pattern, though it isn't possible to discern exactly what that pattern might be. This will happen every morning at 7AM and again in the evenings at 10PM. You'll be able to hear it no matter what room you're in. There isn't any punishment for sleeping through it, but you don't want to waste the day in bed, now do you?

(Unless you were out exploring all last night. In which case, go back to bed, damn.)

PATIENTS REMAINING: 30

[OOC: Welcome to week one of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Transmitter, you can do so through text or the phone in your room!]
blunders: (SWEAT ☕ Unsure levels rising)

Oh--okay! Um...

[...Where can she start with this...maybe if she hums? Maybe that will give her some kind of idea of where to start with the notes. She's alright at it, it nothing else--she hums through the first verse, and starts trying to match piano notes to the tune she's got going. It takes a bit, but while she doesn't sing, she puts the words to the melody--]

Jack and Jill...went up the hill...to fetch a pail of wa-ter...? [...Mmmn, not quite. Not quite at all, it's a bit too low. Felicia bites her nail for a moment, considering.]
preciousking: tired, bored, trying to nap, covering face (♚ death i will survive)

[personal profile] preciousking 2017-06-07 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
[ The humming is more soothing than the piano, at least. Combined they're not making for the most melodious of background music, but he did encourage her to keep playing. He's not going to go back on that, and he's not going to leave either.

Call it stubbornness, but he wants to stay here until the very end. ]
That's what you're trying to play?
blunders: (BABBLE ☕ Let me talk your ear off!!)

[personal profile] blunders 2017-06-07 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[Felicia nods her head, turning to him when he speaks.] Yes...it's a little rhyme I remembered hearing when I was a child. I thought it'd be the simplest thing to try to play, even if it's not all that elegant...

[She doesn't seem entirely disheartened when she says it, at least.] It seems like the best way to start, though! Something simple that not even I could mess up, once I get the hang of it!
preciousking: irritable, head tilted down, eyes closed (♚ i've got nothing left to live for)

[personal profile] preciousking 2017-06-07 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Something simple... [ Mm, it is simple. ... Either because of the simpleness or because of the piano, he's reminded of a certain someone who changed hobbies at the drop of a hat. His eyes scan the ceiling for nothing in particular before he pushes off the wall and approaches the piano.

Once there, he hovers one of his fingers over the first key. If it'll speed things up... ]
Repeat the first note. [ If she does, he'll press each key in succession until she tells him to stop. ]
blunders: (BEAM ☕ I did something right!)

[personal profile] blunders 2017-06-08 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
[Felicia seems surprised when he joins her--but when he has his finger over the first note, her eyes light up. He's gonna play with her?]

Okay! Let's do it!

[And do so they shall! It's actually very good to have him assist--it's a little faster, having the feedback from him pressing the key so she can hear it twice. It helps her stay on track--and by the end of the first verse, Felicia seems to beam.]

Okay! I think that's okay...I haven't tried the second verse yet, but that was really helpful! Thank you so much!
preciousking: sweatdrop (♚ i just need...)

[personal profile] preciousking 2017-06-08 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
[ He pulls his hand away from the piano and rubs his neck slowly. This time, it's out of mild embarrassment, though it might be hard to tell from his expression. ]

Was it? [ He looks at her skeptically. Hm... ] Are you going to keep playing?
blunders: (KNIVES ☕ Am I holding these right)

[personal profile] blunders 2017-06-08 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
It sounded like it, yes! I think it was really just...being able to hear the notes echo back to me, that really helped me keep up with it? I think that's what it is.

[Never the less, Felicia nods her head and clenches her fists in front of her, determined.]

Absolutely! I want to be able to play this perfectly before we leave! [...though, now that she thinks of it...] Do you think it would be better to do that again, but...first, instead? Or...

[...she's kind of deflated and confused now but at least she's still smiling!]
preciousking: do not want (♔ so what)

[personal profile] preciousking 2017-06-08 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
[ ... She's making him choose? He doesn't look like he knows what he's doing, does he? All he's done so far is mimic Tatara. ]

I have no idea. [ He's silent for a moment or two before deciding there's no point in changing what they're doing. If it works, it works.

He moves his hand back to the piano. Let's go, lady. ]
blunders: (HMPH ☕ So rude!!)

[personal profile] blunders 2017-06-09 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
[...okay when he says that, she does fret a bit--did she say something wrong?

But when he moves his hand back, she becomes at ease and nods her head. Okay. Okay, let her just...]

Jack fell down...and broke his crown...and Jill came tumbling after...

[Alright...alright, once she gets that idea, she'll start on the keys again.

Unlike this time, it's definitely noticeably lower--it may take a couple of tries, but it's definitely clear she'll persevere if the way she keeps stubbornly playing is any indication.

...Though, after about the fifth, if her puffed cheeks are any indication, she might be becoming a little frustrated--she'll likely be hitting the notes faster because of it, without noticing. Uh. Please calm down hon--]
preciousking: looking over shoulder (♚ somebody to cry for)

[personal profile] preciousking 2017-06-09 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
[ As she speeds up, he slows down and watches her expression carefully. He's seen similar pouts before on Anna and on Totsuka. Rarely, Yata and Kamamoto too. Usually he's watching from afar and doesn't have to react to them directly, much less soothe them.

... Well, he doesn't have to soothe her now either.

...

With an annoyed click of his tongue, he slams his hand down on the piano keys. He doesn't say anything, only watches her to see how she'll react. ]
blunders: (SWEAT ☕ Something's going wrong)

[personal profile] blunders 2017-06-09 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, if he wanted a reaction, he certainly gets one--Felicia practically jolts at the sudden slam of the keys, hands flying off to immediately defend herself. It seems to have worked to get her out of her own head, though!]

...D-did I sound that bad?

[...she kind of doesn't. Really realize how fast she was going, oops.]
preciousking: irritable, head tilted down, eyes closed (♚ i've got nothing left to live for)

[personal profile] preciousking 2017-06-09 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
[ It should be a crime to do something so violent-sounding and yet look so calm about it. Yet here he is, free and clear.

He even looks back to the piano like that wasn't an extremely jarring experience worthy of scrutiny. ]
No. [ He doesn't plan on explaining why he did it, especially since she looks like she's stopped pouting.

Sorry, Felicia. You deserve better. ]
Let's keep going. [ 'this time he doesn't wait for her to start. He starts pressing the keys. ]
