WEEK 1 Despite how unhelpful she seems, one thing has become very clear after talking to the Transmitter: there's no way out of here. It seems like you're stuck here for the time being and the rules the Transmitter told you about are still hanging in every room. You'll be left up to your own devices now – feel free to continue exploring and getting to know your fellow Patients for the next several days. Should you want to eat something you're free to use the kitchen before 10PM, but after that the doors will be locked and no amount of fussing with the locks or trying to break them down will get them to budge. However, your wake-up call in the morning isn't exactly a pleasant one - loud bursts of static over the intercom can be heard early in the morning, pulsing almost as though it's following some sort of pattern, though it isn't possible to discern exactly what that pattern might be. This will happen every morning at 7AM and again in the evenings at 10PM. You'll be able to hear it no matter what room you're in. There isn't any punishment for sleeping through it, but you don't want to waste the day in bed, now do you? (Unless you were out exploring all last night. In which case, go back to bed, damn.) PATIENTS REMAINING: 30

Well, you won't know whether it will until you try. I think you'll be pretty good at it, though!

... That's a lot of faith to have in someone you hardly know.

[barehands]

I don't really think so! Once you start to learn, cooking is pretty easy.

[A beat.]

N-Not that I think you couldn't do if it was hard, that's not what I meant!

[preciousking]

[ He makes a soft "hmph" sound. ]

Didn't take it that way to begin with.

[barehands]

That's a relief. I wouldn't have wanted to be rude accidentally, so...

[A pause.]

Oh, but I forgot to introduce myself! My name's Rose.

[preciousking]

Suoh Mikoto. [ He sticks his hands in his pockets. ]

You gonna be here tomorrow?

[barehands]

It's nice to meet you!

[She nods.]

I like to cook, so I'll probably be in here for most mealtimes.

[preciousking]

... If you happen to make extra again, I'd appreciate you sending some of it my way.

[barehands]

Of course! I'd be glad to do that. I can even make sure to prepare extra, if you like.

[preciousking]

Yeah, thanks.

[ For her bravery, fortitude, and cooking prowess Rose earns... a small smile! ]

[barehands]

Okay.

[She smiles in return, nodding.]

What kind of foods do you like best?

[preciousking]

Anything's fine.

[barehands]

Okay! I'll make sure to keep that in mind.

[preciousking]

[ He nods his head slowly. He's about to turn and leave, but... ...

With a click of his tongue, he picks up his plate and heads to the sink. He quickly rinses it off and leaves the kitchen, hoping to go before she can say something. ]

[barehands]

[She doesn't want to make him uncomfortable by calling more attention to it, but she definitely does notice. She'll let him leave, but there's a grateful smile on her face as he does.]
