Week 3.

WEEK 3

Grace and Doug are dead. It seems that there isn't anything more to do but mourn your losses and try to move forward. The Transmitter's rules still hang in every room, a reminder of the only means of escaping this place.

But surely no one else will give into them, right?

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Once again, however, it seems your efforts won't go unrewarded; another set of corridors have opened up, much in the same fashion as the other new area did last week. With them come new rooms to explore; maybe some of them will be to your liking.

Or perhaps it's better to say that hopefully some of them will; after all, if the Transmitter gets her way, you may be here for a very, very long time.

PATIENTS REMAINING: 26

[OOC: Welcome to week three of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Transmitter, you can do so through text or the phone in your room!]

Doug-san had a reason to go home.

If Sibyl runs everything... What happens when they discard you? If the system makes your choices for you, it can't be a simple task to find new work again and continue to live normally.

[But she figures there must be a chance? Otherwise Kogami's occupation should have read something else besides unemployed.]

As long as you say so. Well, if you kicked the bucket due to breaking Rule 3, that means no one invoked Rule 7. So at the very least a trial wouldn't take place. We'd all just know that Natural Selection took its course.

[Even though to get answers, sometimes you need to be reckless.]

He did. Everyone that has killed thus far had a reason they wanted to return home.

Exactly.

... That's why I'm not going to do anything.

I'm lucky I have a job. Most latent criminals are locked up and isolated from the world. They're all unemployed.
heritrix: (pop)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-06-23 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
That's clever, actually. Do you have more than one caterpillar? We could see if leaving one changed and one unaltered has an effect when they're left behind.

Tsubasa...

Would you like to officially say that we're dating?

[ She asks, sincerely, her hand on her chest. And she asks before she can make herself hesitate!! ]

[Hmm, so there is a task, though. Lovecraft doesn't press any further about it, but he does have this to offer as he samples more of the cake:]

It is fine to find a task to be tedious or irritating. They're not ever meant to be enjoyable. At least...the ones I've been contracted to do tended to be that way.
aspiringly: (don't you think it's a fine day?)

[personal profile] aspiringly 2017-06-23 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
A necessary evil, as you'd say. After all, if the alternative is war that would ravage the Earth, then Gjallarhorn's position is justified.
cthulwho: (☁ so confused)

[personal profile] cthulwho 2017-06-23 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
...No. It- It has a taste?

[Dude.]
heritrix: (I see what you did)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-06-23 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh. That answers that. Rin is careful not to show any extreme reaction on her face, but surprise still peaks there.]

What are they allowed to do down there? In my time, prisoners are still permitted to work, and receive visits from their families...
cthulwho: (☁ this is terrible)

[personal profile] cthulwho 2017-06-23 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
I-I'm sorry?

[MCGILLIS............... At least give him more candy first before suggesting such things!!]
crywiththesaints: Mulling something over (now arise)

[personal profile] crywiththesaints 2017-06-23 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose that depends on whether the world is worth it to you. Most would say that it is.

They're still able to get most things they like. Most. It's not like they have things taken away from them and they're still allowed to be happy.

[He sighs.]

They're just no longer allowed to integrate into society-- at least until their hues clear and their crime coefficients go below one-hundred with no signs of it going above that mark.
dangerousfool: (That was a jump. Say apple)

[For a moment Wheatley is silent. Tedious, irritating...yeah, those fit in some way. It's nice to hear someone would understand. Then, talking as if this is a huge effort for him, Wheatley says something else:]

What I hate the most about it is that...uh--it's because it's about something, uh, about myself. Something I don't like. It's...it's hard to talk about it.

[Looks like even admitting that much was an extraordinary effort for Wheatley]

Take that cake, it's all for you if you want. Congrats. And thanks, for your support, I mean. It's nice. You know, for someone to listen, mate.

[Are you trying to bully him, Mikoto!! He won't stand for it, you know.

Or not. But he'll watch the canvas fall to the ground. Well if that isn't rude he doesn't know what is.]

Considering that we haven't made much headway in finding any other escape route, it's worth a try. I won't deny there's an obvious risk, but I doubt that would improve much the longer we stay here regardless.

[Even if he doesn't catch someone red-handed, at least any information on how it's happening - whether it's a secret passage or a room or anything - would help.]
heritrix: (excuse u asshole)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-06-23 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know what to think of it, honestly. [She looks away from Kogami, back to her painting.] Well, that's not 100% truthful. I think I know what is is.

[She pulls her paintbrush away the picture in a sudden, rigid motion. Facing the picture, she tries to view it with an open mind. Hurt seeps into her heart instead, where she wasn't focusing; an attack on two different sides.]

It makes me angry. [A scoff escapes her, in a breath.] Honestly, I should throw it away.

[Dropping the paintbrush unceremoniously in a tray, she makes no move to do so this instant, but she's seriously considering it.]
heritrix: (commentary)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-06-23 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
It doesn't have to be important to be interesting.

Unless I find something unusual that can be carried out in a pocket, in which case I rescind that comment. Then it's important and it's mine.

[But not the kind of thing she's expecting to find, alas.]

[It really kind of is, isn't it.]

I've kept difficult pets before; I imagine this won't be much different.

[personal profile] gymasstics 2017-06-23 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
[...She's gonna try to pet it.]

Yeah, it looks a little different from Wheatley... It's still pretty cute, though.

[In a weird nonfunctional way.]

Did it come out of the machine?
aspiringly: (don't you think it's a fine day?)

[personal profile] aspiringly 2017-06-23 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
That's unfortunate, but a situation I know all too well. Physical copies are all but kept to the aristocratic or the wealthy nowadays, and some of the rarer volumes would likely be able to keep a small family fed for at least a month.

[Damn corrupt bourgeoisie, etc.]

What's your favorite genre?
heritrix: (grump)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-06-23 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
[Like an engine turning over, Rin's thoughts kick back into gear. They're racing too quickly, but she works faster to sort them.]

Don't— [Calm down, try again. Rin makes a sweeping hand gesture, like the arc of a blade, and strips the vulnerability from her voice. She starts over, stronger.]

Don't jump to hasty conclusions, Sakura. You're drawing from unreliable memories, so you can't take that as fact.
heritrix: (shoulder)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-06-23 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not worried about that. We would have heard something by now.

[Yells because someone found a body, or an overhead announcement declaring an investigation.]

This room smells like coffee that's gone stale. Were you in here all night?
heritrix: (mrrrrr)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-06-23 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, that must have been awkward.]

Um... How did that go?
