Week 3.

WEEK 3 Grace and Doug are dead. It seems that there isn't anything more to do but mourn your losses and try to move forward. The Transmitter's rules still hang in every room, a reminder of the only means of escaping this place. But surely no one else will give into them, right? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Once again, however, it seems your efforts won't go unrewarded; another set of corridors have opened up, much in the same fashion as the other new area did last week. With them come new rooms to explore; maybe some of them will be to your liking. Or perhaps it's better to say that hopefully some of them will; after all, if the Transmitter gets her way, you may be here for a very, very long time. PATIENTS REMAINING: 26

And what would it take for a King to show he's just that in your eyes?

If all these frowning faces are any indication, it might be a while. I doubt anything will be accomplished though.

[Kogami loads his own bolt into his crossbow, then proceeds to aim and shoot. His bolt also hits into the red, close to the yellow center. It could be a fluke or it could be the result of using a weapon similar that uses a trigger. Though it's definitely different from what he's used to. Still, he's focused and calm. He doesn't play easy just because his opponent is a teenage girl.

Nine to go, they suppose.]

Oh, definitely! I can't fault him on enthusiasm, really. I think he just needs help from someone with a mouth and a tongue.

Tying into a conversation we had before, do you think that the Transmitter and the Risen have different goals for us?

[If she were a proper mage, trained to utilize her intellect instead of scraping understanding off the occasional book, then Sakura might have more to offer.

Instead her eyebrows knot, confused and uncertain of what to say]

[She's getting a little irritated now on his behalf, but she keeps it in check. For now.]

How long did it take you, to get approved for that job?

Classic combination! Then we're decided?

[They can set out if so! Only to reconvene later tonight after Rin talks with Greed.]

Not very long. I was an inspector before that happened. Meaning I used to be the master before I became the dog, so I was already used to examining crime scenes and all that. By that time, I had already been a detective for over five years.

Your other companions don't think highly of you?

[If she only has one definite and one maybe, that doesn't speak well to their bond. In a typical fashion at least; it makes perfect sense to Rin as a mage.]

[The second, third, fourth, and fifth shots follow much like the first shot for Sakura - either deathly close to the yellow, or hovering well within the red. She can't seem to make her bullseye yet. Irritations crawl like sins on her back but those can wait their turn for now. She looks over to see Kogami's progress]

If i'm captured... If I'm captured and have a missing arm, it doesn't matter if they think highly of me or not. I can't speak for Hans or Chamot, but Maura at least would be sympathetic. But she's more than responsible enough to know that winning against the Evil God comes first.

[ She exhales. ]

It depends on how much danger my capture presents.

[Maybe, but Rin has no confirmation of that. On Monday, anyways. She hums.]

You're going to turn me into a broken record at this rate, Rose. Don't be naive.

[That said, Rin sighs. Really, how do they always got on conversations like this? She holds out her plate to her.]

True, but that begs the question of how they're doing it, and if there's a way to shut off the effects.

I don't have the faintest idea what could cause it. They've got to have some sort of powerful means of controlling people-- maybe it's even a power of their own, I don't know.

Yes... I'd prefer that not be the case.

[Sakura's the "sneak in the shadows and break a machine" kind of person. Leave the face-punching to the shonens, which she is not]

Another mystery to solve.

[There's a point where it's difficult to keep that predatory smile off Kogami's face. It starts off as rather subtle, however, after the third, fourth, then fifth bolt, it's clear he's in his zone. The bolts are becoming dangerously accurate, one hitting within the yellow circle. His head is clear and his aim is good. It's obvious that the more stress he feels under, the better he actually performs.

It's why he has the job he has, because he can perform well under the highest forms of stress, even if it makes him look and partially go insane.]

Well, anyway, I might! That actually would be a lot of fun, I think. I wonder who would be the best ones to challenge?

My intended purpose is to serve the interests of the Umbrella Corporation. As such, I have been given control over their systems and manage their assets when required.

[enhancements]

[She pauses for a moment. Processing, probably.]

The Umbrella Corporation was founded as a pharmaceutical company, creating products and medication for the benefit of people around the world.

[heritrix]

[It has its intended effect. Rin doesn't voice her answer aloud, but after several seconds of quiet thought, something in her posture deflates. There's still tension there, in her hands and around the corners of her eyes, but her shoulders slump. It's a mark of defeat she doesn't want to surrender to.]

You've been hanging out with Danny, haven't you?

Umbrella... Ah, is that the same one that Wesker used to be the "CEO" of?

Perhaps it can be trained in some way - it depends on whether it has any sort of programming that's capable of learning in there.
