Week 3.

WEEK 3 Grace and Doug are dead. It seems that there isn't anything more to do but mourn your losses and try to move forward. The Transmitter's rules still hang in every room, a reminder of the only means of escaping this place. But surely no one else will give into them, right? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Once again, however, it seems your efforts won't go unrewarded; another set of corridors have opened up, much in the same fashion as the other new area did last week. With them come new rooms to explore; maybe some of them will be to your liking. Or perhaps it's better to say that hopefully some of them will; after all, if the Transmitter gets her way, you may be here for a very, very long time. PATIENTS REMAINING: 26

No - my other child, Chara, did! I have adopted a human child who fell into the Underground, it seems.

[It's still a little bittersweet, talking about monster-human adoption here. But at least now he knows that Chara and Arietta are totally unrelated to each other, the former not being a dream inspired by the latter.]

I am a little unclear on the timeframe still, but they must have been with us for a while already, to have made this. [Both because of the complexity of the knitting project, and the sentiment.]

I'm not, actually. Never had the opportunity to learn how to use one. No time like the present though, I suppose.

I'm a member of the Phantom Thieves, Mochizuki-san. It would be troublesome if that piece of information made it to the police, so I lied about my profile being inaccurate.

[And there is a deep-seated delight that hits close to home, in hearing that Asgore of all people monsters adopted someone. What a fortunate child Chara must be.]

This was so sweet of them, then! I haven't knitted before, but I know it can be tricky to keep the stitches even.

I've been asked that a few times today. [For very good reason, though Lovecraft doesn't seem to get that.] I'm fine, though.

What about you? You must be...happy, right?

Just a few. We'll need to find the proper supplies, but, I know how to make some basic ones, and I'd be glad to show you that, as well. But Castella is fairly easy to make, and quite tasty, too...they sound like just the reward you'd need to push yourself just a bit further.

I can show you how to make one now, if you'd like. I don't think I've seen you eat a thing all day.

[ She was tempted to wait to see what Tsubasa trailed off in, but she couldn't help herself. ]

[ She reaches up and runs her hand through her hair. It's a little wet now...

Ah well, nothing doing, let's slide into the shallows. ... This smells weird. ]

Ah, I meant more the similarities! I can't say any of them have sounded too similar to mine, other than that they have humans on them!

INVESTIGATION

[Today, Rin starts bright and early in the kitchen. Not for a meal, or to take a glance at those sign-ups—she never eats breakfast—but to check the results of the experiment she and QQ partook in the day before. In particular, you might see her by a plate of chocolate chip cookies left overnight, with a cheeky placard that read "FOR SANTA CLAUS".

Some of the cookies have been eaten, and it looks like she got a return note.

Following that, Rin's afternoon is spent in the dojo, where can be found for several hours, long into the day. It's a mess in here, so she's brought a broom and various cleaning supplies to help clean it up. While she's at it, she also conducts an investigation. This room looks like it has less stories to tell than the shooting range, but those barricades feel seriously out of place in a dojo, like they were brought here to keep whatever happened in the shooting range from following them into this room.

...And okay, maybe this investigation is also selfishly motivated by that; this room feels so disappointing compared to what she's used to. Can't a girl a Muk Yan Jong? Heck, she'd settle for a punching bag.

It's a long day of hard work she doesn't usually care to put into anything but appearances. After making some tea and a plate of finger foods, Rin can be found winding down for the night in the art studio. She's never been much into painting, but that seems to be what she's up to today with watercolors. An Iron-Nicking Sword is propped up against the wall opposite her easel, and appears to be her muse if her picture is anything to go by.

...It's sort of a morbid picture, isn't it? It's hard to tell if the watercolors are running together because she's an amateur, of if the effect is intentionally meant to look as if the air in the painting is choked with rust. The only thing that gains real definition are the swords; with a quiet intensity, Rin paints a veritable field of them among a barren wasteland long into the night.]

[He's going to do it, he's going to go for the gold at the Beijing Olympics!!]

I've heard they're easier to handle compared to some firearms, so we'll see.

[And there it goes. For a first time, it's actually pretty good; the bolt's not in the bullseye or anything, but it's in the ring outside of it.]

[ She... laughs a little at that, the idea of it! ] I can't even picture sailing through the sky!

Naturally, I would read every word, diligently, and scrutinize you over your word choice on an incessant basis. What do you take me for?

He glances down and around, observing his mass of hair that's spread out and floating around him. He's considering the offer, but...]

I mean...if it has, I haven't paid much attention to it. It is what it is, to me at least.

Well... I'm not sure of the entire process myself, but if we have a microscope, then we could examine the blood for traces of the parasite.
