Week 3.

WEEK 3 Grace and Doug are dead. It seems that there isn't anything more to do but mourn your losses and try to move forward. The Transmitter's rules still hang in every room, a reminder of the only means of escaping this place. But surely no one else will give into them, right? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Once again, however, it seems your efforts won't go unrewarded; another set of corridors have opened up, much in the same fashion as the other new area did last week. With them come new rooms to explore; maybe some of them will be to your liking. Or perhaps it's better to say that hopefully some of them will; after all, if the Transmitter gets her way, you may be here for a very, very long time. PATIENTS REMAINING: 26

[ Vile man? She stops in her examining, her one hand reached out towards the painting, but her head looks back at the other. ]

... Are you going to be okay, Yusuke?

[ In her mind, she sees a boy, a near foot taller than her, with similarly sincere but empty eyes. And she... well, she lets the other girl step back, and lightly exhales. ]

I don't doubt that, and I don't necessarily say that it's wrong.

[ She rocks on her heels ] Our situation isn't the best for it, but for the purposes of surviving here, I suggest that you think more about yourself, and about things you want.

Alright, fair's fair. If we can round everyone up sometime, I'll wear one of the one pieces like everyone else.

[He looks up.]

Yeah, that's right. In the dream-- memory I had, there was a kid in it. He didn't have a body any longer, but his soul had been attached to a suit of armor.

I have a feeling I know how it happened.

[He looks over at her.]

Almost imperceptibly, Rin stiffens.]

It's nice, isn't it? It's probably heated.

[Smelling... Why is she- oh.]

The weird smell's the chlorine. It keeps the pool clean.

[Ignore that. She lets the rest of his words wash over her; chase the uncomfortable niggling in her heart away with those dulcet, annoying British tones (why is a robot British?).

The person Wheatley's describing really does sound incredible, even if she doesn't understand half the context of the obstacles she's overcome. What's so scary about this facility?]

You told me when we first met that you're an AI. Should you be rooting for her?

I don't know-- a seven or an eight?

[Kicking her feet in the water, Rin looks immeasurably pleased with herself as she turns a smile up to the ceiling.]

Even if it's a one piece, I bet you'll look great in it. You have great proportions, Nozomi.

[And that's it. How do you even deal with a dream like that?]

That's horrible.

[It's horrible beyond comprehension. If she's dead, that means she can't go home to anything...]

[She bounces, just a little.]

I forgot about that! Chlorine can really dry you out, you know.

[Man his hair is going to be a mess if he doesn't wash it out immediately when he leaves. Though that's not the actual concern here.]

You didn't get any in your... [Gills? Does Lovecraft have gills.] I mean, you didn't breathe it in, right?

Oh, I support the human. She didn't try to kill me right after waking up, unlike some other AI I know.

[Yeah, he didn't take kindly to being crushed and left to die. At least he's okay now]

Besides it's good, if she defeated that AI once, then she can do it again -- and I'll help her, I know the weaknesses and points we can exploit. I may not look like it, but I'm a great strategist, like Napoleon to the French army right when they tried to invade Russia.

Hm. That's pretty high.

[She frowns, leaning against the lockers for a moment as she weighs her options here, but appears to make her decision quickly enough.]

You have a couple hundred years on me. I know you're a homunculus, but I have to assume you've also lived this long because you learned to trust your gut.

[She's not sure if she should count that as a point for him or a point against her, but she moves to put the towels back. On one of the lower, reachable shelves.]

Since it's you, I'll rely on that too, today.

You've got pretty nice proportions yourself.

[The bathing suit reveals all. Or enough at least.]

And you're nice and toned, too... A little hip muscle training, and I bet you'd do pretty well at keijo.

[Look. Keijo is important, okay.]

I guess there's no real way to tell if they mean to keep their word, or how they're going to do something like that.

That's why there's no sense in getting too worked up over it right now. We don't know if they can make good on their promise. Panicking isn't going to help anyone right now.

[He's never touched one, but he'd probably know what it is!]

Hopefully you're able to get an answer. This place is pretty confusing; there's a lot of things I've found completely foreign.

Russia won that conflict decisively. Napoleon lost most of his army, and was humiliated even in the battles he won.

Right, that's the sport you're good at. What is it, actually? I've never heard of it.

[She snickers. Yeah, that's definitely a thing to keep in mind.]

Well, whatever. Like you said, your human friend won before. If she can do it then she should be able to do it now, with or without your help. You just have to find some other way to support her.

It's a gambling sport. You fight on a floating ring called a land and try to knock everyone else down or into the water.

You can't use any limbs, though. No hands or feet.
