The past several weekends have been an unrelenting barrage of death in particularly disturbing manners; either the method or the number of people, sometimes both, have been particularly extreme. This week has seen fewer dead than the last; however, the way that that one kill seems to have happened...
It's not a particularly good tradeoff.
Either way, however, expectations still need to be met and investigations still need to be carried out; once the allotted time has passed, those doors in the center of the second corridor slide open once again, the sight managing to be at the same time familiar and unwelcoming. The fluorescent overhead lights of the operating theater beam down, flooding the room with bright and steady light as soon as the first person walks in; the seats surrounding the podium circle in the center of the room remain as empty as ever. Four more are gone, their absence notated by their portraits joining the others in watching the proceedings through greyed-out and unseeing eyes, Kogami, Madison, Sakura Matou, and Osomatsu's podiums all draped in black.
Once everyone has found their place in the circle, the public-address system comes to life once again in a light crackle of static; the Transmitter can be heard throughout the room shortly thereafter.
"Fraternal is dead. You guys...you know what to do. Put together what you've found and try to seek out the guilty. You know what'll happen if you can't.
Good luck."
Eleven Patients remain. We'll see how many leave at the end of the day.
... Like I said. They expected a show from me as their kill-switch. I thought they'd find the mouth stitching being done to someone who was telling all of our secrets to them to be up their alley in entertainment.
[Honestly...this whole display has left Lovecraft at a bit of a loss for words. But the last of Danny's meltdown...makes his frown deepen ever so slightly.]
[... Of course, Danny's not actually going to vote for himself because he absolutely is that sore of a loser and has enough salt left him to not do so.
He does however hum a bit, sounding way too cheery for a guy who is about to die here from behind his podium.]
Hmm, I wonder what it'll be: Cathy, to judge me as another sinner? Zack, perhaps, to finish me off like he failed to do the first time? Gray, to shoot me again to make sure I stay dead this time? Or perhaps it'll be Eddie... ha, no, I doubt it.
[Because we have to shit on Eddie at least one more time before the execution okay]
Maybe it'll be one of the people that I used to take care of... maybe if I'm lucky, I'll be able to see Rachel's beautiful peepers one more time--no, then again, it would just be a pale imitation of their splendor, it wouldn't be the same. Perhaps my mother then, saying that she should never have allowed me to be born, and that she would still be alive if it wasn't for this eye of mine? Or... or... o-or...
[But then his tone does something funny here, and for a moment, Daniel Dickens looks confused about something.]
Huh. That's strange... they should really do something about their faulty facilities here. Even the courtroom appears to have sprung a leak in their ceiling...
[Turns out, even when you are born with a missing eye, parts of that anatomy still work. Namely, tear ducts.]
I don't really have anything in my room that would be of help to you guys: I didn't see the point in taking notes all that much, so I only have this to say.
[There's a bit of hesitation, before he reaches out and puts a hand on Asgore's arm to whisper something for just him to hear.]
No matter how tempting it is, don't choose that route. Not for yourself, or even for the sake of anyone else here. I'm telling you this so that you don't give them that kind of satisfaction. If you need a reason to live, do it out of spite if you have to, because otherwise you'll just be playing right into their hands. Do you understand?
[It's the last act of kindness he can possibly offer as a therapist.]
[Asgore looks a little doubtful about the touch from the guy who set Osomatsu on fire, but he leans in to hear anyway, because he will still listen to what he has to say. But he goes still as Danny speaks, brow knitting, and when he responds it's in a similarly quiet tone.]
