Welcome.
You don't remember how you got here. It may be one of the first things to occur to you when you wake up, that you don't know when you got here, what you were doing involved nothing like this; granted, it's also possible that it doesn't matter – that whatever circumstances you last remember have nothing on the fact that this bed is really comfortable and the room around you is gently-lit. It's warm, but it's nowhere near where you're supposed to be. Whatever you think of it, the fact is that you can't stay there forever; there's a silver key resting on that trunk near your bed, and you might want to take it on the way out. It's no big deal if you don't, exactly – it won't lock automatically after you close the door, that has to be done manually – but it'll probably become clear that privacy is a commodity in a place like this. After all, you aren't alone; the hallway is likely quick to become populated with other people that are just as confused as you are. Go ahead and talk to them if you'd like; none of you will know exactly how you got to the building with the wooden walls and the odd windows that no one can see through, but that doesn't mean you can't get to know each other on the way to...wherever it is that you're going. Wander long enough and you may hear the chiming of a clock nearby. It's hard to tell whether it's telling you it's very early or very late at night, but checking out the room it's in eventually might be a good idea regardless; it's large and open, designed to accommodate social gatherings from the look of it, with the clock in question mounted against the western wall. It isn't the only thing here, though – there's a large frame set into the wall nearby, and it contains some information that might be relevant to your interests... Or perhaps your attention is drawn instead to the other framed information nearby; don't worry if you miss it in here, though. It's posted in every other room in the building. There's also the matter of the large double-doors at the end of the room; they aren't going to open, regardless of what you do. Looks like you're trapped here for the time being. Might as well see who's here with you, right? |

Oh so c a s u a l l y strolls in, gravitating towards a guitar.]
Heeey. You playing anything particular? [Maybe this is something the guy's working on composing! Doesn't wanna knock someone else's personal style!!]
no subject
[Look, it's a fly trap. Put the loud noises of a piano down and people are sure to investigate. Ferid notes the guitar he's gravitating towards and smiles, leaning against the piano carefully as to not disturb the keys further.]
And yourself?
no subject
Honestly? I was just thinking if you had a melody, I could just...jam along. Beats sitting around freaking out, right?
no subject
[Ferid smiles lightly, turning back to the piano with a bit of a flourish and nodding.]
You're right -- there's no time to waste simply twiddling out thumbs! If we have the means, then we should entertain ourselves -- without killing one another, most would prefer.
[A simple melody is what he'll play, then.]
no subject
What- were you...?
[Oh...well, okay then. He shrugs it off and firmly grasps the guitar and a pick. Alright, nothing too fancy, just a few solid strums, to start it off.]
Others are lookin' for exits, huh?
no subject
So it'd seem. The only exit I can think of would be in that grand foyer of ours, but the doors are immovable. And indestructible, I believe, if that giant of a man couldn't take them down.
no subject
Oh, him? Yeah, ran into him earlier. [Absentmindedly, he changes chords a few times, to create more of a counter-melody.] Didn't think someone could be that tall... Anyways. How come you aren't joining them?
[Nothing accusatory about that, just curious.]
no subject
I'd rather wait for something to happen in a place I don't recognize, or allow someone else to make the first move. There's at least thirty of us here, including you and I, so there's plenty of people to do it for us.
no subject
[He glances from the guitar to Ferid and, after a moment, speeds up his strums. The melody is low, slowly growing in sound.]
no subject
I hope we get a visit from our host, at least, before someone gets it in their mind to test the rules themselves and see if they can't escape before the game really begins.
no subject
Oh, those things. [His fingers hesitate a moment. Then he speeds up once more.] That's gotta be a...some kind of joke. The Adjudge-dude'll sort it all out.
[He doesn't really sound sure of that? But he does want to believe it.]
no subject
I hope you're right. I'd like to be able to relax in a place so well-dressed, not look over my shoulder every other minute.

[Right hand sliding down frets, left picking strings, foot tapping out a steady rhythm.]
It called us Competitors but I didn't sign up for any competition.
[Focusing on his guitar and the cool sound of the music.]
Most of this doesn't make any sense so, why worry about it?
[A pause from playing to pat out the rhythm on the body of the instrument, then to continue his strums.]
When we know more...we can think of what to do then...but for now just take it in stride.
[And you know, it's a wonder, the more complicated his rhythm gets, the more he sounds like he believes the words coming out of his own mouth.]
no subject
I couldn't have said it better myself if you'd sung it with that delightful tune of yours. Perhaps you could give us a performance sometime?
no subject
[He...accidentally clamps down on a fret he doesn't mean to and thus makes a displeasing sound.]
You mean it? I've never like, performed for anyone, just recorded. But, like, a rock concert? That'd be pretty sweet.
no subject
Once everyone is less as they are, then. Entertainment should loosen even the most stony of countenances, wouldn't you agree?
no subject
You know, you've got a pretty good idea there. Like a talent showcase.
[It is day one and we are planning parties.]
If it happens, I'll so chip in. Thanks for the idea, uh... [...] Uh, man... Your name's...Ferid? Did I get that right?
no subject
Plus it might annoy Certain People and Future Ferid will love Past Ferid for it in about half an hour or whatever.]You did. [It's a simple name, at least.] Brady Russell, was it? It's clear you have a talent for music, outside of your likes on your profile, so I'm looking forward to seeing it being put to good use.
[... Now the real question is when will their weekly meetings be. Will they even have one? Who knows. Ferid won't particularly care, after all.]
Speaking of that, though, we certainly have a cast of characters among us, don't we?
no subject
But Brady's not the kind to be too stringent with conversation topics (though he itches to keep talking about music), so he lets their current one shift like the changing tide, albeit with one brief acknowledgement.] Thanks, I'll make sure to do that.
But yeah, don't we? All kinda running in different circles, too, like some sorta all-ages Breakfast Club!

I've already found our Allison Reynolds, in that case! I don't think she knows how to smile, though, all I've gotten are surly looks and scowls.
no subject
You mean Katniss?
no subject
[Abso-fucking-lutely, Brady Bunch.]

[she's still a bitch tho]
no subject
Maybe she'd be one of the people who could use a little musical relaxation?
