trustfelled | Week 3.

WEEK 3
The end of the second week sees two more people dead, and two more rooms sitting empty in the dormitories. Nephenee and Rideaux Zek Rugievit are both gone, but with the start of the third week, it looks as though the game will continue on without them.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Meanwhile, it looks like another set of doors have opened up at the end of that southern hallway, leading to another long corridor stretching out to the east. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; you've earned it, after all.

Several years old? But that doesn't...

[Make sense?]

I mean... some people woke up different than they were. I remember Walt asking me. Maybe... maybe we are missing memories?

According to that profile, I'm thirty-nine. But the last thing I remember is being in Ishval and I was thirty-two. I woke up here with a tattoo I don't remember getting, the unfamiliar scar on my back, my uniform missing a sleeve, and my hair grown out like this when it was cut really short before I woke up here.

I really hate the idea that I'm missing seven years' worth of memories, but it's beginning to look like that's the case. The Adjudicator told me that he hadn't done anything to me. I don't know that I can believe him, but it'd fit with everything else.

Then that means... if they're memories, then what I just got must have been one of the last ones.

[It's just a matter of what exactly came next.]

But why would we be missing memories in the first place?

I don't know. Walter thought that maybe missing memories would be a side-effect of some kind of drug used to knock us out or something, which I guess would make sense?

I guess so, but... seven is a lot of years. I'm probably missing... well, actually, I kind of have no idea exactly how much I'm missing, but it's not seven years.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure most people aren't missing that long. It's definitely good, I wouldn't want anyone else to be as confused as I am about this.

[you'd think there'd be more physical differences over the course of seven years but apparently not!!]

Yeah.

[Well, she... doesn't have seven more years to lose, really. Or she didn't.]

I just wish we knew for sure.

I doubt the Adjudicator's going to say anything, so there's really no way to know for sure.

[Which is also frustrating. For now he's just going to focus on the easier things to process, like the dream he just had. The one from last week isn't something he wants to touch right now.]

...So what did you dream about?

Um...

[She looks very pointedly at the table.]

Asking people I trust to ki- to destroy the system injecting me with Eridium.

How did the dream end?

[Because he's got a bad feeling about this.]

I don't know. It didn't last longer than that. But unless the very next memory I'm missing is Juri yoinking me away... I can guess what came next.

[...so this is probably going to sound really insensitive, but—]

Do you think you're dead? Or... you were dying?

I don't feel dead. That's the part that doesn't make any sense. Kind of like... what Rideaux said about his magic organs. Maybe... I was dying and god fixed here? I don't know.

...I don't think we can put anything past the Adjudicator at this point. It's possible that's exactly what it was. But maybe there's something else we haven't considered yet. So...

[He doesn't know how to end that and instead lets it trail off awkwardly.]

Yeah. I just hate not knowing.

[Uncertainty isn't nice, yo.]

And I have no idea how we'll ever figure it out. If we ever really figure it out.

Yeah. For now I'm just going to take it one day at a time. Focus on what I do know and try to keep moving forward.

[Admittedly the thought of getting out of here only to go back to an unfamiliar future is absolutely terrifying, but he'll cross that bridge when he gets to it!!]

[Ahaha boy oh boy uncertainty for the future sure is something she understands, yup.]

And who knows, maybe these memories aren't even real, somehow. We have no idea what Juri's capable of.

Yeah, that's very true. He's capable of ripping people's souls out, I don't think we can dismiss the idea that he's screwing with us.

Even if he still doesn't seem like he cares very much.

[She sighs.]

I really don't like just waiting here like this. I know I've said that before, but...

I know. I hate it too. I want to be able to do something, but as far as I can tell there's nothing that we can do right now.

Just gotta... keep our heads on our shoulders and wait for an... opening or something. Whatever that would be.

Yeah. Whatever the Adjudicator is he can't be completely untouchable. He can be hurt, so that's a start.

Yeah. Just have to find a way to make it more than one on one.

[And... not in the pit. "Fight me in the pit" is like the opposite of what they should be going for, it seems like.]

I'm sure we'd have an easier time of it with more people, but coordinating that could get tricky.

[WHAT IF WE ACCIDENTALLY MURDER SOMEONE WHILE TRYING TO MURDER JURI???]

[Relax it's not like anyone here seems like they would kill anyone else trying to cooper- yeah you know what that's a good point.]

It could, yeah. But the more people we have the better, so we should... probably hurry up on that.

[Since the number of ex-people just keeps growing.]
