you'll be alright, no one can hurt you now
[ After a hell of a trial, Katniss needs to focus her energy into something. So, the afterparty it is. Since she's not good at this kind of stuff, she's had some help. She'll pass out invitations to anyone she passes by, or she'll slip them under the door. ]

[ There is some food set up, but it's very much in sealed containers. Cookies, specifically, along with anything else she could scrounge up. There are very tightly sealed bottles of drinks, too. After that whole thing, she figures it'd be best to tread with caution. She won't blame anyone who brings their own food, of course.
There are fixings for smoothies, just in case someone's feeling it. Katniss has set up a couple of blenders around the game room. There's also some surf 'n' turf food, to honor Mack, too.
There are some decorations--courtesy of the guys, of course, because how the heck do you decorate for anything. ]

Re: mingling
SOMEHOW I DIDN'T SEE THIS disregard my other tag]Hey, Angel. [She pauses. After that, she looks pretty, well...] ... how are you holding up?

[But with Angel, it was clear there were shades there that had been absent from everyone else's anger.]
Your father, was he really... [A beat.] I'm sorry. I can't imagine that's something you'd want to be talking about now, of all times.

[Even if she's probably the one he's hurt the most.]
And I saw some of him in Walter. A lot of him, actually. Maybe more than was there.
no subject
[Which she said just a moment before, but this time it's out of sympathy than out of her saying the wrong thing. Because naturally, the part that had stood out most was that Angel said she had been hurt by him.]
I think it's safe to say that you saw enough that it was justified. I mean, I don't know if Walter was a threat to his entire world, but...

[Jack sure doesn't think he's hurting Angel.]
I just don't usually get... like that. About people.
no subject
[He didn't think so?] ... did he actually not realize what kind of dark path he was on? I mean, I know it's easier to see from the outside, but...

How was that supposed to save anything?

[Since, you know. That was his idea of "order," youtube videos who say he was secretly a good guy.]

[She's not about to say bandits and savages. It's a brush that gypsies sometimes get painted with, even if her troupe was anything but.]
-- outlaws, they had to go? That's such a horrid reason...

I know it's hard for people to see themselves as anything but the hero of their own story. But... really?? Did he actually read any stories with heroes in them? Purging the land is something only a villain would do.

[Or "bad guys he can make out while standing on top of corpses with" but there are things Angel is willing to be the one to talk about and her dad's girlfriend is not one of them.]

[She shakes her head.]
I'm sorry. That couldn't have been an easy thing to live with.

[Oops.]

"Not quite everyone," huh.

[She looks down.]
Without me, he would never have been able to do the terrible things he's done. I can't possibly count the number of people who'd be better off if I had never existed.

But hearing it from someone else grants her a certain perspective, one that's untainted by her own regrets.]
... it isn't actually you they'd be better off without, though... is it? You're not the one who made those choices. Even if you were his weapon, whatever evil possessed him to wield it would still have existed.

[She wants to protest that, too. But she simply doesn't know enough about what happened to say anything meaningful to that effect. Well, that means there's really only one other thing to say...]
Why do you say that? Are you certain he wouldn't have found another way...?
no subject
[Casually skirts over "technically Jack is kind of my fault" ha ha ha ha]

[She looks over Angel, not exactly certain if that's supposed to be literal or more like a title. She doesn't look like any sort of monster, but then again -- they are supposed to be humanoid to some degree, and it's not as if she's ever seen these creatures herself.]

Not exactly. It's more like... I'm one of six women in the universe with magic powers. Siren is just what people call us because it... sounds cool or something like that.
