Week 1

WEEK 1 Unfortunately (or fortunately, for those of you who decided he ranks at an 8 or higher) the Adjudicator has made an appearance and he doesn't seem to be lying about anything that's happening here. There's no way out. It seems like you're stuck here for the time being and the rules the Adjudicator told you about are still hanging in every room. While the Adjudicator himself is around, you'll be left up to your own devices – feel free to continue exploring and getting to know your fellow Competitors for the next several days. Should you want to eat something you're free to use the kitchen before 10PM, but after that the doors will be locked and no amount of fussing with the locks or trying to break them down will get them to budge. You'll notice that the clock in the foyer goes off periodically, however. This will happen every morning at 7AM and again in the evenings at 10PM. You'll be able to hear it no matter what room you're in; it seems it's being piped in over that PA system in the walls. There isn't any punishment for sleeping through it, but you don't want to waste the day in bed, now do you? (Unless you were out exploring all last night. In which case, go back to bed, damn.) [ ........yeah, she did just say that aloud, thanks. Critical is one of the people who's critically in danger of not attending, so—time to bounce over to do some convincing.

I'm totally serious about getting you if you don't show up, Critical. [ Hmph. ] It's gonna the most fun party ever, and you'd be a dumb-dumb to miss it!

So you're serious...[Sigh]...I suppose there's no harm in attending the party.

[At least it'll be a moment to see how everyone behaves! Observing people can be worth it. Who knows, maybe a more relaxing setting will allow her to ask questions about delicate stuff?]

Of course I'm not a sourpuss! I won't be interested in soulmates, though. Don't expect me to play along on that.

If that's the only reason why you made this party then I'm sorry to inform you this is bound to be a waste of time for the majority of the people trapped here.

[That's a tough question, and Naoto guesses Aligula has an answer to that, so...it doesn't matter what Naoto says]

It seems you have an answer to that. How does it happen?

[Yep, she's willing to listen, but she's already kind of blocking out whatever Aligula may say]

[ That's just too bad, because it's something relevant for all detectives everywhere. ]

They get to know them first. They learn what makes them tick, what sends their heart pitter-pattering, what they absolutely won't stand for. What they do for a living, what they're passionate about! [ She's gently banging her fist in her palm. ] Shouldn't someone with your job be all over gathering information on people?

[ ...Because then it narrows down the list of "people who might actually go through with rule 7" considerably, once you get to know them. Probably. It's not like there's any ever surprises with murderers! ]

Besides, it's totally fun! And we need something to lighten all the dumb bad feelings around here!

...that was much more reasonable than I expected. You're correct about all that.

[Okaaaaay, maybe Naoto was a little bit presumptuous!]

And it's true a party is a good opportunity to see how people behave. That's why I intend to go. The least I can do is make an effort to see how people are getting along.

Did you try inviting the Adjudicator?

[She'll be surprised if Aligula hasn't tried!]

Yep! [ ...which is a bit of a sore spot for her, honestly. ] He said no, but said I could visit him if I wanted to. I can't though because like, I'll be a hostess! And it would be super bad of me to just disappear.

He says he's not really the partying type, so I guess it'd be fruitless to invite him to any other parties we throw. [ Hmmmmmmmm. ] Do you think I should still try anyway?

Keep inviting him. At some point he'll have to accept your invitations, if only to stop you from harassing him any further.

Besides it's his duty to keep an eye on all of us. He wouldn't want one of our social gatherings to break any rules, would he? He should come and make sure it doesn't happen.

I'm gonna tell him that next time. I had a long list of really good reasons when I went to see him, but that one definitely takes the cake! [ Yes yes yesss. ]

Half our group is one for parties but they're still coming, it'll be right outside his door anyway, there's only a couple of people who don't like Ferid but he's still showing up, and it'd show that he was confident if he came!

[ Because "confident" is certainly the word you use for Ferid in polite company. ]

It still wasn't enough to convince him, but I got him to answer some questions I made for the party, so it wasn't so bad!

If you really wanna know, then when you get the questions tomorrow, swing by his office and bring it! He'll let you ask anything off of them, trust me. We had a very interesting discussion about one of them~

Really? No exceptions? Interesting...our captor may be more reasonable than I expected him to be...

Aside from the non-answers in the beginning and the seventh rule, he's been very reasonable. [ ... ] Juuuust a little hint, so you don't get mad or get him mad! If he says he'll tell you some other time, I totally wouldn't push for an answer. He probably doesn't want us to figure out everything too quickly because it's less entertaining for him!

And then like, you totally have another question to ask him down the line if you don't find the answer out yourself! He doesn't mind normal chats, I think—Ferid tells me he has them with him—but if you're gonna bother to go visit, you might as well learn something right? Detective Critical.
