Week 1

WEEK 1 Unfortunately (or fortunately, for those of you who decided he ranks at an 8 or higher) the Adjudicator has made an appearance and he doesn't seem to be lying about anything that's happening here. There's no way out. It seems like you're stuck here for the time being and the rules the Adjudicator told you about are still hanging in every room. While the Adjudicator himself is around, you'll be left up to your own devices – feel free to continue exploring and getting to know your fellow Competitors for the next several days. Should you want to eat something you're free to use the kitchen before 10PM, but after that the doors will be locked and no amount of fussing with the locks or trying to break them down will get them to budge. You'll notice that the clock in the foyer goes off periodically, however. This will happen every morning at 7AM and again in the evenings at 10PM. You'll be able to hear it no matter what room you're in; it seems it's being piped in over that PA system in the walls. There isn't any punishment for sleeping through it, but you don't want to waste the day in bed, now do you? (Unless you were out exploring all last night. In which case, go back to bed, damn.) [He remembers things about fellow Pokemon trainers! And maybe other people too, but he's inclined to gravitate towards the others from his world.

Sure, it's good! We're lucky to have one decent cook in here. Or was someone helpin' you?

No, it was just me here, sir. [Not that he wouldn't have appreciated the help, but--] It's not too difficult, I think: honestly, it's almost like working a shift at the restaurant.

[Almost because he didn't have to also alternate taking turns with waiting tables with his brothers here, he could just focus on cooking and let people take whatever they wanted.]

Heh. Must be nice to keep busy anyway. I'm startin' to think he's just tryin' to bore us to death.

[He's got his food, but leans against the counter as he eats. Talking is way more interesting than...well, not.]

Oh dear, then perhaps I should be worried: I might not last very long here if that is indeed what he's trying to do here.

[It's said in a teasing tone, but there is some truth to it: he's so used to having a million things to do to occupy his time, it's kind of strange to not be doing something else right now in addition to cooking.]

No kiddin'. I don't think I've ever spent this much time indoors all at once. [Common complaint for Pokemon trainers, he's sure.] The music stuff fine if you play, but I could've done with a little more...anything. Maybe an exercise room.

[cilantro]

Oh, that would be nice: even if we can't train our Pokemon for the time being, it would be in good taste to try to keep ourselves in shape too, I think.

Tire people out, too! Makes 'em a lot less likely to get up to any mischief.

[Not that he thinks exercise would really help, if someone got it in their head for real to commit a murder. But...well, idle hands.]

Ahaha, I suppose that's one way to consider it... I wonder though, do you suppose our dear host would be accommodating enough to provide the equipment needed for such a thing?

Eh. Maybe if ya asked.

[Archie doesn't sound hopeful about the prospect. Or, really, particularly thrilled with the idea.]

Have you been down to talk to him?

No, not yet. [Cilan's honestly not even sure what he would say the guy if he tried to talk to him.]

Nah. Not sure I could keep from punchin' him!

[Archie grins sharply.]

Not that I'd mind doin' it, but he's gotta have somethin' backin' up those rules of his. [Could even have the Pokemon somewhere still. Archie's not really risk-averse, but there's limits.]

Indeed... as much as some of us would probably like to see him taste some flavor of retribution here, it would be best to be cautious in this regard until we're sure otherwise, or until we've relocated our Pokemon.

You've gotta be real confident to kidnap this many people. I don't like it, but you're right. Better to lay low for a while.

Hopefully the Pokemon can do a little better than us.

Oh, I'm sure they will: our Pokemon are trained to be able to withstand any foe that blocks their path, even if it is one like our host here. In fact, if all of the Pokemon are working together somehow, it might only be a matter of time before we'll be able to see them again!

[Someone sure seems optimistic about their chances here...]

[Well, it's certainly bracing! Archie chuckles.]

Heh, you're right. They know better than us humans most of the time.

Exactly... oh, and there's not just our own Pokemon to consider either: I'm sure that plenty of our friends and family are aware that something has happened by now, so it's possible that they would be able to help us too, if they're able to find out where we are right now.

[Sure there's a possibility about us being in a whole other world entirely right now, but... we come from Pokemon world, things like manipulating time or visiting other universes isn't a stretch if the anime has anything to say about it.]

My team knows some people. Science types, y'know. They might be able to work somethin' out.

[Read: he employs scientists who study some shady stuff maaaan]

It's figurin' out where we went that's gonna be a problem. Wish we had some more Psychic-types around, they might've picked up on whatever happened when he grabbed us...well, whatever! If anybody can get all that together, it'll be Shelly. She's one o'my admins, sharpest lady you'll ever meet. [Surely non-evil organizations also have that term?]

Well, that's good to hear! I can't say that I have any strong connections with the scientists of Unova, but I'm sure that my brothers could find people to help: perhaps they would even be able to recruit some of the other gym leaders of Unova in order to work together and come up with a plan.

Suuure, gym leaders got clout! Can't say I know much of anything about Unova's league, but that's the same everywhere. You might even get the Elites out lookin' for ya!
