Week 2.

WEEK 2 With the deaths of Sayaka Maizono and Mallick Scott the first week draws to a close. While you all have varying opinions on what happened and who was to blame, one thing's for sure: the Adjudicator isn't messing around. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, those weird dreams aren't the only new thing around here; those massive double doors on the southern wall of the foyer have opened up, leading down another hallway and ending in what looks like another corridor to the west. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done. Or perhaps for just playing the game. COMPETITORS REMAINING: 28

[ That... sure is a change from how he usually is. Who knew shaving himself could have such a serious effect. Katniss is still wary of him, though. ]

I don't know what taylor ham is.

[bluemeanie]

[Walt looks over here, and chuckles, taking some grated cheese and letting some fall into the mixture in the pan.]

Well. In New Jersey, I'm fairly sure they call it pork roll. But I suppose that argument is for another time and place.

[flagitate]

[ what is a new jersey ]

... Right. So it's just ham with a fancy name. [ Excellent observation. ]

You're in a good mood.

[bluemeanie]

[that's beyond our borders. you must never go there, simba.]

It's morning. I see no reason not to be.

I'm guessing being easily annoyed isn't a common thing for you. The people here--we're all just special.

[bluemeanie]

I try not to dwell on things like that when I have breakfast.

[flagitate]

... Right.

[ Katniss makes herself a cup of tea--ginger, because her stomach feels like it's in knots, still.

There's a pause, before... ]

Do you believe him? About what he said yesterday. The-- changing situations thing.

[bluemeanie]

[He takes the spatula and lets the eggs slide out on to a plate before he turns back to her and speaks, plate in hand.]

It's total bullshit.

[flagitate]

[ She's not even surprised. ]

Probably not everyone is gonna agree.

[bluemeanie]

Then they're failing to see basic facts, really, because there's only so much that he can do.

[He roots around the kitchen some more, grabbing a fork and a bottle of ketchup from the fridge as he speaks.]

Thus far, my worldview hasn't been changed just because he organized a kidnapping and happened to put on a very unconvincing magic show when he killed Malick. Never mind that this is clearly an attempt at egging the weaker members of the group on.

[flagitate]

[ Did he mean to offend her? Too bad. She's suddenly a lot more annoyed, so she grabs a cup from the cupboard to give her hands something to do. ]

Yeah, I'm sure they're gonna go for that explanation if they already believe him and are set on killing someone.

[bluemeanie]

If they were set on killing someone in the first place, then they'd do it anyway without care for whatever he pulls out of his ass. It's a desperate move by him, solely because he knows that after last week, no rational mind here would be willing to kill. So, he seeks to set off the irrational.

[He impales a scrambled egg curd with his fork, and takes a sizeable bite.]

Good eggs.

[flagitate]

[ It's so heartwarming how he can go from talking about murder to complimenting how good the food is. ]

You like to assume a lot about people you don't know.

[bluemeanie]

It's fairly obvious, really. Most of the individuals here seem extremely volatile in personality.

[flagitate]

So say someone surprises you. Acts in a way you don't expect. What then?
