Week 2.
With the deaths of Sayaka Maizono and Mallick Scott the first week draws to a close. While you all have varying opinions on what happened and who was to blame, one thing's for sure: the Adjudicator isn't messing around. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, those weird dreams aren't the only new thing around here; those massive double doors on the southern wall of the foyer have opened up, leading down another hallway and ending in what looks like another corridor to the west. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done. Or perhaps for just playing the game. |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week two of Trustfell! Don't forget to save your threads for coins and the activity check, and don't forget to submit this week's activity check and memory regains!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Adjudicator, you can do so here!]

Later, once she's awake properly, Mahiru can be found in the game room... tapping on the walls? Indeed, that seems to be exactly that. She leans in close, knocks a few times with her knuckles, and then moves down a few inches and tries again. Who knows what she's looking for, but she doesn't seem to be making much progress. ]

More importantly, though, he'd gotten a lovely game of Go from the vending machine -- the pieces, anyway, he just needed to find someone to play with and perhaps a flat area to draw the lines -- and peeking into their new spaces fills him with a never-ending joy. Mallick had been right! They progressed!
He wonders if they'll need to kill three people for the next set. My, wouldn't that be mor... what is Mahiru doing.]

Fern wasn't expecting to sleep easy after the trial but she certainly wasn't expecting the bizarre nightmares that followed. Why did a dream make her feel so... guilty?
After eating a quiet, confused meal in the dining room, she starts to investigate. She's almost disappointed when she sees the double doors have opened. Mallick was right, Juri's letting them progress.
Still, she'll immediately start looking around the infirmary. This was of high priority. Maybe death could actually be averted in here.]

You'll find that he is...surprisingly vacant, today. Moreso than usual. He moves about the building like a ghost, eyes wide and ignoring practically everyone who might acknowledge him. You might find him in the bathroom, staring vacantly into a mirror, before he removes his glasses. He stares at them for some time, taking note of the black frames...these are new.
Later on, he moves towards the game room, looking over the boards and game pieces. Walt moves towards a drawer and begins looking for chess pieces, and when he finds a king piece...he stares at it. He contemplates.]

because like heck is she going into the men's room][Previously, she hadn't taken much interest in this man -- the likes and dislikes on his profile were all well and good, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. But then the trial had happened, and she had found herself tuning into the things he said. Even rooting him, at once. This was a family man, a dedicated father. Someone she could respect, or so she hoped.]

In order to distract herself, Kyouko decides to explore the second corridor, and she's looking over it pretty thoroughly. Anyone who comes across her might see her running her hands along the walls, opening any drawers she can or digging through shelves. Basically, Kyouko's leaving nothing untouched.
After exploring the new locations, Kyouko decides to go to the game room. She has cards laid out on the table, playing solitaire. It's not really much of a distraction, though, as she seems to be pretty lost in thought.
In the evening, Kyouko can be found in the sewing room looking through all the fabrics. While she's not really experienced with sewing, she might give it a shot here. They have all the time in the world, after all. ]

...a bit later, she can later be found in the laundry room, where it appears she's started to wash her normal outfit... "started" being the operative term. She's... erm, trying to work herself out of crying in the corner.]
...it... it was just a nightmare, so why...?
[...she's pretty scarce after that. It's not until later in the day that she finally checks out the new rooms. It's... kind of disheartening that the door wasn't a way out, and her heart isn't really in looking through it, but she notes that some of the rooms will be good to look through when she gets out of her funk --- which is definitely just a funk. It has to be. She's not... dealing well with the two real deaths she just experienced, but she shouldn't be so worked up over a dream, should she?
...so of course, to make Mozu's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day even worse, when poking around the infirmary, she... opens the refrigerator to the blood bags.

Re: SUNDAY + mild investigation
The satisfaction goes away when she realizes the implications of what she remembered. It isn't pleasant at all]
I wouldn't stand aside and let something like that happen, would I...?
[She gets to exploring the new area. She once again has a lot of paper and a pen, making inventory about everything she can find in the new rooms, but her mind isn't completely into her task. In the sewing room, she gets lost in thought and stares at the yarn but maybe too long. She looks...pretty troubled, actually.
Later she'd be in the game room. She's examining every single game, although she stops for a moment to set up a chessboard. It wouldn't be unpleasant to indulge in a game of chess with someone else later.
After that, she continues her investigation. The Game Room seems like the most likely place to hold anything worthwhile. Look at all these board games, the books...could anything here hold something unusual? Naoto starts examining the books, as if she expected documents or something similar to be among them]

The Quarter Quell. Being forced to go into the arena again after surviving it once--somehow, with Peeta. Peeta. Does he love her? She thinks he does. She'd been kissing him, she'd been damned hysterical when she thought he'd nearly died. Finnick Odair had-- had mentioned something about a baby, and it just seems like a cruel things to dream about. Katniss is determined to never have kids, after all, and with Peeta Mellark? Impossible. He'd just thrown her bread, brunt bread, when she needed it the most, that's all. He'd given her hope when she had none. Other than that... They're not even friends. So why would she dream about kissing him, crying over his prone body, desperate for both of them to leave the Arena one way or another?
Katniss remembers she'd dreamed the other Tributes, Finnick Odair and Johanna Mason and Enobaria, with her teeth filed into cruel points... Johanna Mason, cutting into her arm for some absurd reason Katniss can't even begin to explain or guess. Destroying the arena, nearly dying in the aftermath of it from so much electricity inside of her. The pearl that Peeta had given her, hearing Prim's screams and being unable to tell if they were real or not real... Peeta. Peeta. Peeta. Worrying about him, worrying if she'd be able to get him out, too, because if anyone deserves to survive it's him.
Needless to say, when Katniss leaves her room, she's considerably paler than even last night. She's got her bag at her hip, and it's filled with food--she can be found in the kitchen, too, right when it opens, considering her choices. She's gotten a little more used to the richer stuff, but she still doesn't want to push it--so she sticks to stuff she knows she can stomach, like crackers and some fresh vegetables and fruit.
At least they have an infirmary now, which is where Katniss goes, in search of some burn ointment. She almost considers some of those painkillers, but she files their location away. Just in case.
Next, she goes to the game room, curious more than anything. There are a lot of games she's never seen before, including-- ]

"Laurent. I don't... Thank you. I don't know what to say. Hearing you say that feels amazing. I feel like a weight's been lifted off me."
Inigo's dream is more than a little nonsensical, but he wakes up in a surprisingly good mood. The Laurent in his dream said some wonderful things and he almost feels ready to show his dance to Ferid now. Almost, he needs a little more time to perfect his dance routine.
He makes some fried eggs for breakfast, having finally stopped being so intimidated by the stove, and can be found eating in the dining room beore he goes to explore the second corridor.
The infirmary is a strange place and you'll find him staring in confusion at those blood bags he just discovered in the refrigerator. Is... is this meant to be used for some unholy dark magic? He knows some of that stuff involves sacrifices and other unpleasant things so that's the first thing that comes to mind.
A little later, he goes to the game room to poke around and see what kinds of games they have. Some are completely foreign to him, but he recognizes chess and Go, at least. ]

There's not really any doubt that her dream was more than just a dream. Never mind that all her nights were filled with memories, dwelling on the past. But as soon as she had seen that scruffy-looking boy in her dreams, she knew that this wasn't some fictional person, some imaginary friend -- that's Hiro, her mind spoke out clearly. And the feelings of kinship and respect that followed weren't something she could simply make up.
"Jean! These are your friends' lives at stake!"
"I won't go, Hiro, and I can't go. You don't need my help..."
"What are you saying, Jean?!"
The trial is still weighing heavily on her, too. Especially at the end, when Mallick had used his final words to call out the very approach she had insisted was right. To find another option, some way in which no one had to die. And then, to have that followed with Hiro's words...
"Make the right choice, Jean!"
She answers, just like she did back then.] It's not as easy as you make it sound, Hiro...
[At any rate, once Jean's finished
building meaningful CR with a doorprocessing her new memory, she's out and about. Her mood's starting to turn around already, or at the very least she's not as openly depressed as last night. Looks like she's found a new dress to wear, too -- a one-piece dress, this time, colored pink instead of her usual cream.][Early on, she's in the dining room having breakfast with the others, but she lingers around a little longer as if she's contemplating something. Midday, she enters the sewing room -- and, deciding it was a good way to get rid of some of the less useful junk in a room, finds a nice empty corner of the room and puts up a sign reading "SCRAP MATERIAL". And to get things started, she leaves that big, furry red yeti costume, and a bra that looks like a pair of hands. Maybe someone else can turn them into something worth wearing? She's seen her caravan's dressmaker pull off bigger miracles before. Or they can go ahead and steal them as they are, for all Jean cares.]
[In the evening, she's poking around in the games room, seeing what catches her eye. What is "backgammon", anyway?]

"Well, Roy Mustang. So the Flame Alchemist came out to play."
"You can make this easy on both of us. I'd rather not fight an old war buddy."
"War buddy? Please, don't flatter yourself. I knew no friends in Ishval. Only military bastards and their damn dogs!"
...
"When water meets flame, the flame goes out."
Well that was... definitely a stress dream. Isaac stares up at the ceiling for what feels like a long time as he tries to figure out what the hell that could have meant. The most he can figure is that Mustang uses fire and Mallick was an arsonist... but he really has no damn idea.
It felt a little too vivid to be a dream though, and that part is very troubling.
Once Isaac leaves his room he finds himself at the double doors, just staring at them now that they're open instead of continuing. There's a new area to explore and maybe this will lead to a library or something of interest or maybe even an exit, but all Isaac can think of are Mallick's final words.
"But just keep in mind - if those fucking double doors open tomorrow and you find another section of the compound, you know what you have to do to keep moving through the fucking building. Keep going and there should be a way out eventually; there's no way there isn't."
His hands are clenched tightly at his sides and it takes him a moment to recover before he can force himself forward.
(He doesn't want to think about Mallick or Sayaka or anything that happened in that trial, but he can't stop thinking about it and now—)
Isaac will spend some time checking out the other rooms, and much to his disappointment there isn't anything that really stands out to him. He does start taking note of what items are in the infirmary, though he doesn't recognize everything in here. He's trying to be useful, but he's not as organized and quick about taking inventory as he usually is and the result is mostly "Isaac sits on the floor and stares off into space, lost in thought" but uh. He's attempting, kind of? Today's not a good day at all.]

Honestly, Mack sincerely means to check out the other rooms in the new area, but once she gets to the sewing room nothing else matters. She wants clothes that are not glorified goddamn pajamas or bathing suits. If that means spending all day making super simple gathered skirts and oversized woven tops, then that's what she'll do.
They're not exactly elegant or well-made, given that Mack's sewing machine usage has been mostly limited to refashioning thrift store clothes and doesn't involve a whole lot of actual garment sewing, but by god if she's not Trying.]
