Week 2.

WEEK 2

With the deaths of Sayaka Maizono and Mallick Scott the first week draws to a close. While you all have varying opinions on what happened and who was to blame, one thing's for sure: the Adjudicator isn't messing around.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

However, those weird dreams aren't the only new thing around here; those massive double doors on the southern wall of the foyer have opened up, leading down another hallway and ending in what looks like another corridor to the west. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done.

Or perhaps for just playing the game.

glaciates: (EHH ❅ okay sure whatever)

Yeah, I'm definitely better suited for researching. I think a lot of the other State Alchemists are too.

[But then you have some like Armstrong who are egotistical as hell and Kimblee who is... Senpai's a little weird.....]

[personal profile] notaccurate 2016-07-13 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
[That is the understatement of the year.]

With how similar our systems are, I can't help but wonder if we live in the same world without realizing it. That would be quite the surprise, wouldn't it?
glaciates: (WAIT ❅ why is my luck so shitty)

[personal profile] glaciates 2016-07-13 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
It really would be. It could be possible, I guess?

[It'd almost be comforting, in some very strange way.]
notaccurate: (39)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2016-07-13 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
Wouldn't it be something if it were true?

[It might be fun, to find someone from here back in his world.]

What year is it for you, back in your world?
glaciates: (WHY ❅ ????)

[personal profile] glaciates 2016-07-13 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
1908. Or uh... I guess if the Adjudicator's to be believed about the profiles being accurate... it'd be 1915.

[He doesn't want to believe that the Adjudicator is right, but it's looking like he might be.]
notaccurate: (67)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2016-07-14 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm...either way, that's a good 40 or so years after my time.

[Luca grins.]

I would be an old man in your time, then.
glaciates: (HEH ❅ a suit of armor really??)

[personal profile] glaciates 2016-07-14 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
Heh, that'd be pretty weird. It's strange that our worlds are that close, though.

[Because Luca is absolutely not from the past that's just weird. Other worlds, sure whatever. People from the past??? NAH.]
notaccurate: (84)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2016-07-14 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
[He shrugs.]

If there are really an infinite number of universes with an infinite number of differences, then you are bound to find two that are similar. Though honestly, time travel seems more possible than different universes.
glaciates: (OH ❅ you're still talking)

[personal profile] glaciates 2016-07-14 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
They both seem pretty impossible. It's a little easier to accept other universes because we have so many different people here. Though I guess time travel could explain some of it, maybe.

[game of thrones and homunculi, seems legit]
notaccurate: (89)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2016-07-14 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
[So legit.]

I suspect that we only have one of the two here, to be honest. So either everyone is from a different world, or we all live at different times in the same world.

Or it's even possible that we all live in different countries, which are severely cut off from one-another.
glaciates: (UH OH ❅ that wasn't supposed to happen)

[personal profile] glaciates 2016-07-14 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
I know of the countries surrounding Amestris, but I'll admit that my geography knowledge isn't as good as it could be. It could be possible that there are others from my world.

[. . .]

But in that case, how are we all understanding each other? I'm assuming you don't speak Amestrian.

[...he means german, we're anime germany]
notaccurate: (50)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2016-07-14 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
[He shakes his head.]

I'm speaking Warassian right now.

[AKA fantasy!English.]

...but does this sound the same to you?

[The second time he speaks is still understandable, but it is much more fluent. The odd pauses at different places are completely gone, and it sounds more like he is speaking naturally, rather than struggling to speak a second language.]
glaciates: (SHOCK ❅ you're the older brother??)

[personal profile] glaciates 2016-07-14 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it is... wait, are you speaking a different language?

[He's not picking up on the slight differences, but the context gives him enough to go on.]
notaccurate: (40)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2016-07-14 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
I was, yes. And the weird thing is, it sounded different to me. But when I hear all of you speak, I hear you speaking Warassian, not Sevallian. Which is strange, because Sevallian is my first language, so I would not, er...struggle as much with it? I suppose that's the most accurate term for it.

[Oh boy it's more to investigate!]
glaciates: (SURPRISE ❅ that's not how alchemy works)

[personal profile] glaciates 2016-07-14 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
Huh, that's really weird. I only know Amestrian, so it's not like I can speak anything else. I didn't even think about it before now, but it makes sense that we're not speaking the same languages. How can we understand each other, then...?
notaccurate: (30)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2016-07-14 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
...

Magic?

[He sounds extremely unsure as he says that, though.]
glaciates: (HUH ❅ amestris is a circle isn't it)

[personal profile] glaciates 2016-07-14 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
...Since magic doesn't exist in Amestris at all I really can't argue that.

[magical chemistry is fine! so is magical physics! but magical translations???? totally not acceptable!!]
notaccurate: (03)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2016-07-14 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
That's certainly possible. I mean, sfeers can be used for body-related things- there was a case not too long ago, where a woman took control of a man's body and made him do some rather horrible things- but I haven't ever heard of a sfeer being used to affect someone's perception. And to do it over such a large area, without a sfeer map, that would take a lot of power.
glaciates: (SILENT ❅ i don't know what to say)

[personal profile] glaciates 2016-07-14 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
Huh... it's certainly a fascinating idea. The Adjudicator told me that nothing had been done to us, but obviously I don't know if we can trust his word or not.

[It's possible he was also only talking about the physical changes Isaac experienced, but...]
notaccurate: (74)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2016-07-14 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
There's nothing saying the Adjudicator can't lie, so I wouldn't trust his word either.
glaciates: (SILENT ❅ i don't know what to say)

[personal profile] glaciates 2016-07-14 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I don't trust him at all.

[But everything does add up if the Adjudicator's right. Isaac's profile is seven years off, which would explain some things. In that amount of time he could change his appearance to what he looks like now. Walter's theory of stasis would work better if Isaac wasn't missing seven years.

...But of course he doesn't say any of this because Isaac is still working it out in his head and he's socially awkward and clearly doesn't mind the long pause at all, so!!]

I guess we'll have to see what we can figure out on our own.
notaccurate: (79)

[personal profile] notaccurate 2016-07-14 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
[That sure was a long pause. Maybe Isaac is just the kind of guy who mulls over his thoughts.]

Er, yes. I suppose gathering information from the others couldn't hurt either. Then we could find out if people share worlds, based on the language they think everyone is speaking.
glaciates: (EXCITED ❅ gonna ride a glacier brb)

[personal profile] glaciates 2016-07-14 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
[HE'S NOT GETTING MUCH BETTER WITH SOCIALIZING......]

Yeah, that's a good idea! It's possible there are people from the same world and they just haven't realized it yet.

[It's also possible it won't tell them anything, but that sure is a direction to go in!!]
