WEEK 2 With the deaths of Sayaka Maizono and Mallick Scott the first week draws to a close. While you all have varying opinions on what happened and who was to blame, one thing's for sure: the Adjudicator isn't messing around. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, those weird dreams aren't the only new thing around here; those massive double doors on the southern wall of the foyer have opened up, leading down another hallway and ending in what looks like another corridor to the west. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done. Or perhaps for just playing the game. COMPETITORS REMAINING: 28

Katniss is just going to stare at him, her eyes on those scalpels. That's a little weird. But you do you, buddy. ]

Are you planning on using those for something, or do you just like doing weird stuff?

[Rideaux had been in the middle of idly holding the scalpel forward as if he were judging how far this thing could go if he threw it, when he notices Katniss walk in...in his line of sight for throwing.

He'll uh. Lower that...]

Just making sure I have them well-maintained in case we need to do an emergency surgery. [...] Or who knows? We may have to perform an autopsy at some point.

[HOW COMFORTING.]

[ She's suddenly glad he's not the jumpy type because that could have been a Very Bad Time. ]

You're the doctor. [ She's walking over, and she surveys the scalpels. ]

... How many do you need?

What's the harm in making sure they're all accounted for?

[Yes, that is totally believable, Rideaux.]

Aligula might want to assist if we do need to make use of them, so I figured, why not?

[flagitate]

... Right.

[ She definitely believes him, yes. ]

You seriously trust Aligula with a really sharp scalpel.

[evilfrenzy]

Well, yes. She proved herself to be quite the body investigator last week.

[...among other things he's learned.]

Do you trust me with a really sharp scalpel, Katniss? Honest question.

Honestly? You almost threw it at my face, so not really.

All right, all right. Fair point.

[It's not like he can defend himself when he was pointing the thing at the door.]

I'm afraid I'm going to have to spoil the fun, though. I wouldn't skewer you with them.

[So he just admitted that he does throw them. Incredible.]

That really means a lot.

[ How reassuring, truly. Katniss walks over and picks up one of those scalpels, She surveys it a good moment, then just casually throws it at one of the walls. It sticks pretty solidly, actually. ]

I think they're sharp enough.

[evilfrenzy]

[Did she just.

She did.

You know what, that's getting a grin from Rideaux, he doesn't even care.]

Glad to hear I have the approval of Katniss Everdeen.

[...he'll just. Do the same thing, though. He'll toss it right next to the scalpel that Katniss tossed.]

Suddenly, I am craving a drawing or photo of Juri.

[You know. For a scalpel dart board. Target practice is important.]

It's a pretty big deal, yeah.

[ She allows herself a grin, too, as she picks up another. ]

Right between the eyes. Unless he counts that as "violence against the Adjudicator," too.

[evilfrenzy]

Wouldn't it be so satisfying? Going for his throat wouldn't be too bad either. Gives him a little time to suffer first.

[They are seriously going here.]

You know, I wouldn't put that past him. And what an embarrassing reason for punishment that would be. We can always work with our imagination, I guess.

[And to demonstrate, he goes ahead and throws another scalpel a little further down which he estimates would be the jugular if the first two are between the eyes.]

Wow. You've put some serious thought into this.

[ Not that she can blame him because. Well. She's thought about it, too. ]

If I could draw worth a damn, I'd make our own target.

[evilfrenzy]

I have a lot of free time here.

[Not mentioned: his experience with being salty enough to put thought into this for several people.

But on the topic of drawings...]

I'm afraid I am not the most suited for it, either. My drawings are pretty technical, so he'd probably end up looking like an anatomy model instead of a decent target.
