Week 1.
Despite how unhelpful she seems, one thing has become very clear after talking to the Transmitter: there's no way out of here. It seems like you're stuck here for the time being and the rules the Transmitter told you about are still hanging in every room. You'll be left up to your own devices now – feel free to continue exploring and getting to know your fellow Patients for the next several days. Should you want to eat something you're free to use the kitchen before 10PM, but after that the doors will be locked and no amount of fussing with the locks or trying to break them down will get them to budge. However, your wake-up call in the morning isn't exactly a pleasant one - loud bursts of static over the intercom can be heard early in the morning, pulsing almost as though it's following some sort of pattern, though it isn't possible to discern exactly what that pattern might be. This will happen every morning at 7AM and again in the evenings at 10PM. You'll be able to hear it no matter what room you're in. There isn't any punishment for sleeping through it, but you don't want to waste the day in bed, now do you? (Unless you were out exploring all last night. In which case, go back to bed, damn.) |

[OOC: Welcome to week one of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Transmitter, you can do so through text or the phone in your room!]

Nothing in particular, no. I've never really had the chance to touch one of these before. I'm trying to find out what everything sounds like, and maybe I'll try to play from there!
[...oh, but wait--]
Am I bugging you at all? I didn't even think that I'd be imposing on you while you were here...
no subject
His hands twitch in his pockets on reflex and he glances to the side, away from the piano. With a voice softer than before: ] ... No. Go ahead and keep playing.
[ And... that's... it?? He's done talking unless she wants to engage him further. ]
no subject
You can tell me to stop, if it's bothering you. I...I don't want to be a bother if I can help it, after all! Are you really sure it's okay?
no subject
Awkwardly, and with a swiftness that comes from being restless, he pulls one hand out of his pocket and runs it through his hair then down to his neck. ] If it were a bother I wouldn't be standing here. Besides, you don't need anyone's permission to play.
no subject
If you're sure.
[In any case...hmm. She'll hit a few more notes, but then she gets an idea. She begins to hit the notes in a pattern that...well, should sound like a melody (♪ Jack and Jill went up the hill-- ♪), but Felicia stops it about halfway through the first verse because she's not even close to hitting the right notes.]
That was dreadful...
no subject
...
...
After a few notes, his face twitches. He stares tiredly at the ceiling until she speaks up. ] Then keep playing. [ ... because you'll never get better if you don't practice, basically. ]
no subject
[...Where can she start with this...maybe if she hums? Maybe that will give her some kind of idea of where to start with the notes. She's alright at it, it nothing else--she hums through the first verse, and starts trying to match piano notes to the tune she's got going. It takes a bit, but while she doesn't sing, she puts the words to the melody--]
Jack and Jill...went up the hill...to fetch a pail of wa-ter...? [...Mmmn, not quite. Not quite at all, it's a bit too low. Felicia bites her nail for a moment, considering.]
no subject
Call it stubbornness, but he wants to stay here until the very end. ] That's what you're trying to play?
no subject
[She doesn't seem entirely disheartened when she says it, at least.] It seems like the best way to start, though! Something simple that not even I could mess up, once I get the hang of it!
no subject
Once there, he hovers one of his fingers over the first key. If it'll speed things up... ] Repeat the first note. [ If she does, he'll press each key in succession until she tells him to stop. ]
no subject
Okay! Let's do it!
[And do so they shall! It's actually very good to have him assist--it's a little faster, having the feedback from him pressing the key so she can hear it twice. It helps her stay on track--and by the end of the first verse, Felicia seems to beam.]
Okay! I think that's okay...I haven't tried the second verse yet, but that was really helpful! Thank you so much!
no subject
Was it? [ He looks at her skeptically. Hm... ] Are you going to keep playing?
no subject
[Never the less, Felicia nods her head and clenches her fists in front of her, determined.]
Absolutely! I want to be able to play this perfectly before we leave! [...though, now that she thinks of it...] Do you think it would be better to do that again, but...first, instead? Or...
[...she's kind of deflated and confused now but at least she's still smiling!]
no subject
I have no idea. [ He's silent for a moment or two before deciding there's no point in changing what they're doing. If it works, it works.
He moves his hand back to the piano. Let's go, lady. ]
no subject
But when he moves his hand back, she becomes at ease and nods her head. Okay. Okay, let her just...]
Jack fell down...and broke his crown...and Jill came tumbling after...
[Alright...alright, once she gets that idea, she'll start on the keys again.
Unlike this time, it's definitely noticeably lower--it may take a couple of tries, but it's definitely clear she'll persevere if the way she keeps stubbornly playing is any indication.
...Though, after about the fifth, if her puffed cheeks are any indication, she might be becoming a little frustrated--she'll likely be hitting the notes faster because of it, without noticing. Uh. Please calm down hon--]
no subject
... Well, he doesn't have to soothe her now either.
...
With an annoyed click of his tongue, he slams his hand down on the piano keys. He doesn't say anything, only watches her to see how she'll react. ]
no subject
...D-did I sound that bad?
[...she kind of doesn't. Really realize how fast she was going, oops.]
no subject
He even looks back to the piano like that wasn't an extremely jarring experience worthy of scrutiny. ] No. [ He doesn't plan on explaining why he did it, especially since she looks like she's stopped pouting.
Sorry, Felicia. You deserve better.] Let's keep going. [ 'this time he doesn't wait for her to start. He starts pressing the keys. ]
