Week 3.

WEEK 3 Grace and Doug are dead. It seems that there isn't anything more to do but mourn your losses and try to move forward. The Transmitter's rules still hang in every room, a reminder of the only means of escaping this place. But surely no one else will give into them, right? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Once again, however, it seems your efforts won't go unrewarded; another set of corridors have opened up, much in the same fashion as the other new area did last week. With them come new rooms to explore; maybe some of them will be to your liking. Or perhaps it's better to say that hopefully some of them will; after all, if the Transmitter gets her way, you may be here for a very, very long time. PATIENTS REMAINING: 26

I haven't noticed anything off yet, but I admit, I haven't looked closely, either.

[The correction is meant to be gentle... and really, Sakura probably shouldn't speak at all, she knows nothing about firearms, but...]

The basics, at least. I would ordinarily get into combat training as well, like with the Guard, but here...a way to defend oneself and perhaps restrain an attacker would be enough. To buy time for others to come, if they cannot be held down.

[George will likely see what Sakura means. The way she handles the "barrel" of the crossbow is incorrect, George had the right idea about that, but her overall posture is what ultimately compensates when she shoots. They're both sitting at opposite ends of a short spectrum.

It's closer to the bullseye - slightly. Without a word, she hands the crossbow over so George might try again]

[ Without any spoken announcement this seems to have turned into a contest of sorts. This time he puts the arrow in himself and then tries to adapt some of the way Sakura carried herself for his own shot.

The aiming progress takes even longer as he tries to find the best way to shift. When he finally lets go, the arrow goes... pretty much the same distance from the bullseye that Sakura's did, even if on a different part of the target circle. From here it's hard to tell if it's closer or farther than hers for real because it went in slightly skewed.

... not embarrassing at least, George concludes silently and hands the bow back. ]

There are plenty of recipes that call for baking too, so it was an important skill to add to my resume. And even if I often avoid sugar, every girl has a sweet tooth, right?

It's worth a look, at least. Do you have any experience with these?

[He'll move around to see if he can check out the back, but nothing too intrusive at the moment.]

You're referring to what the Transmitter told us in the first trial, correct? If that's the case, I wonder if there could be any remnants from our predecessors, as careless as it would be.

[If any of the damage is retained, then perhaps there may be something that was missed, even if they cleaned things up.]

Yeah. Despite what Nozomi said out there, I don't think they'll settle for a whisper in the ear. All of our secrets; the uglier they are, the more the Risen are going to drag them into the light, exposing every detail as clearly as they can.

[She needs to double check that with the Transmitter when she's calmer, but Rin has a gut feeling about this.]

Care is a bit of a strong word, but I understand. In any case, I wouldn't be much of a soldier if I couldn't take care of myself, and you have your own duties to attend to.

[Well it's okay, he'd... rather not be there if it happens anyways.]

[Maybe he can even pretend this conversation never happened, sigh. But since he's not intending on taking a swim himself anytime soon...]

Were you able to investigate the bottom of the pool at the least?

Good to see you know how to take care of yourself, then.

[Or so Kogami will hope. He doesn't want to find his dead ass somewhere because he couldn't pull an all-nighter outside of his room.]

With that said, has your all-nighter proven fruitful?

[Oh lord, he's arguing with a naive optimist girl...]

And I'm saying that's idealistic, but it's not going to be our reality. You're allowed to put yourself first instead of thinking for the good of the group. In fact, it's probably safer for you that way.

I see. Do you intend on following up with anything else? While I won't strictly ask for your assistance, it would be good to coordinate so that our efforts don't overlap.

... Hmm. Do what you want with it. [ With that, he shrugs and turns his back to the canvas and McGillis. They could probably talk more, but he doesn't have anything else to contribute.

[ Mikoto has to admit, he is a little curious to see how this whole art experiment turned out. That's the only reason why he's up so early, and the only reason why he's casually making his way to the art room with his head bowed and his hands shoved into his pockets. It doesn't take long for him to arrive given how small the building is, but...

When he raises his head to peer into the room, he stops just short of entering it.

... This is a pretty weird scene, even for him. At first, he's not too sure how to process seeing someone sitting so calmly with a mug in their hands next to a crossbow, but... After a second or two, he shrugs with what seems like the entirety of his body and even lets out a short, low chuckle.

It's easy to see what happened here so he won't stick around. He turns on his heel and exits without saying a single word. ]

None. But I suppose I should be decent at prying things open, if need be.

[He runs a paw along the top and around the coin slot, looking for seams.]

Problem is, nobody knows how to handle this. It ain't as easy as telling everyone not to kill.

Thank you. Even something innocuous may turn out important later, so even if it doesn't seem particularly unusual, it may be worth the effort to note.

With that said, you come here to use the materials, correct? Have you ever left something half-finished behind?
