Week 3.
Grace and Doug are dead. It seems that there isn't anything more to do but mourn your losses and try to move forward. The Transmitter's rules still hang in every room, a reminder of the only means of escaping this place. But surely no one else will give into them, right? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Once again, however, it seems your efforts won't go unrewarded; another set of corridors have opened up, much in the same fashion as the other new area did last week. With them come new rooms to explore; maybe some of them will be to your liking. Or perhaps it's better to say that hopefully some of them will; after all, if the Transmitter gets her way, you may be here for a very, very long time. |

[OOC: Welcome to week three of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Transmitter, you can do so through text or the phone in your room!]

[She needs to double check that with the Transmitter when she's calmer, but Rin has a gut feeling about this.]

Unless it's to show off how much they know, I don't think I'll understand it anytime soon.

It's both.
no subject
It could very easily be both. More reason not to trust them.

[It really doesn't.]

What do you mean it doesn't? [The anger is gone, but she's not letting it go easily; she tries to force something into her voice that isn't there, and instead all that comes out is a tremble.] It should!

[Rin's not sure how she can make this any simpler. He heard everything she had to say, didn't he? Then he should know she's made her decision, and that neither he or anyone else should rely on her from here on.
There's no way he wants to die, he's not like that. And he's smart, so it can't be he's not understanding. So why?]

Greed is different. If those people took too extreme a side in either direction, he's square in the middle. He doesn't even the grace to give her anger an outlet, or a sign that if anything he believes she'll do it, that he heard her warning.
Because that's what it was, from the beginning: a warning as much as a challenge.
So why does he keep looking at her like that? The third time's the charm, and against his silence her anger fizzles and dies.
Rin's bottom lip trembles, an instant before her face is covered by her hands in an attempt to hide something that's obvious. If the quiver in her shoulders didn't give it away, the quiet but sharp intakes of breath would; the sound of someone who's crying but trying not to sound like they are.
Indirectly, this probably answers Greed's question.]

[His words might sound harsh, but his tone is gentle. He's just.... not used to this, and it shows, but he's trying, dammit, because he doesn't like seeing kids cry.]
We... all have a choice in this. I know there's a lot at stake, here, and I'm not gonna say you don't have a right to do what you think is needed, but...
[He sighs.]
We need to take this one day at a time, it's the only way for us to keep sane. We... don't even know if the Risen have the power to do anything they claim, beyond using it as a means to get us to act.

[Her voice is too watery to be truly angry with him (though she wishes she were) as she lowers her hands, tears streaming down her face. As stubbornly as she tries, she can't make them stop, so she stops trying to wipe them away after a moment.]
It's your fault I'm crying in the first place. At least take responsibility for that.
[But she's not ignoring everything Greed said either. Gaze turned toward the floor, she's obviously considering his words carefully. She's already thought of all of that, and twice, but a third time won't hurt. It's the least she can do, if he won't listen to her.]

Never been a fan of making people cry.
[He's apologetic in tone, at least, even if he hasn't actually apologized.]
You can be angry at me if you need to be.

[Her voice cracks a little, on the "messed up".]

[His smile isn't condescending.]
You do what you need to in order to survive, there's no shame in that.
