Week 3.

WEEK 3

Grace and Doug are dead. It seems that there isn't anything more to do but mourn your losses and try to move forward. The Transmitter's rules still hang in every room, a reminder of the only means of escaping this place.

But surely no one else will give into them, right?

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Once again, however, it seems your efforts won't go unrewarded; another set of corridors have opened up, much in the same fashion as the other new area did last week. With them come new rooms to explore; maybe some of them will be to your liking.

Or perhaps it's better to say that hopefully some of them will; after all, if the Transmitter gets her way, you may be here for a very, very long time.

PATIENTS REMAINING: 26

[ "Is that really the sort of thing you should be justifying?"
"Who cares? It was just one time. And besides, you promised you wouldn't tell anyone, Araragi-kun."
"That's...not a promise I can keep."

Tsubasa opens her eyes, and even the semblance of light peeking out from the crack beneath the door strains her vision. She takes her aspirin and gets changed, all the same. She looks a degree better than she did yesterday at the gathering, at the very least; her face has regained some color, and she's not clutching her head as often, instead opting to be on alert as she explores the new areas.

As out of place as it may be, she's grateful for the lack of guns themselves in the shooting range; she doesn't quite have the dexterity to use a bow and arrow at the moment, or even to properly aim a crossbow (though she imagines those will see some use at some point here, and makes a mental note to herself to keep an eye on them, lest they go missing one day), but to be in a room full of firearms with a migraine would be torturous on her temples. Still, when no one's shooting (not to get in anyone's way,) she'll have to conduct a minor investigation around here: is there anything we can glean from those divots and cracks? It'd be nice if she had some luminol, or something of the sort, but...

After that's done, though, a pool actually seems a bit like a godsend right now: it may be odd to see her out of her uniform, but she did put on a swimsuit, and she's got her toes in the water! For now, though, she seems more content to stare at her reflection in the water's surface and kick her feet rather than actually swim. At least her hand is to her chin today rather than to her forehead; she's lost in thought as she stares at the water. ]

[You know, the crossbows would be a good thing to keep an inventory of because those are totally different than the steak knives going missing (in Kogami's opinion). Though he should also keep an eye out for who is proficient in using them if he can figure that out at all.]

I'm not feeling so hopeful that they want the murders to stop.

[Not that he was in the first place, but this just screams to please keep doing this.]

There aren't any guns here, but, the bullets must be present for a reason. More than likely, there'll be a way for someone to gain.access to a firearm, one way or another.

[ She exhales. ]

Do you know if any guns have appeared from the vending machine? Considering everything else that's come out of it, a gun may not be out of the question.

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-06-19 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't, but at this point, I expect it to happen. These first two weeks were just the preview for the hellish life we're probably about to live here if we can't escape soon.

[There's no sugar coating this. Kogami refuses to have false optimism or anything of the like. This is all about the reality they're in right now.]
halleberry: (the old wives tale)

[personal profile] halleberry 2017-06-19 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
So with this, people will start getting more desperate, then? I have no doubt that there will be another incentive, at the very least, and with rooms like these...

[ She's not in the business of underselling, either, but... ]

Things really can't continue this way.

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-06-19 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
They can't, but unless we can do something about our Mastermind or escape, they're going to continue.

[He has no doubt another incentive will happen and someone else will be given that 'push' to kill.]
halleberry: (zuleika dobson)

[personal profile] halleberry 2017-06-19 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
...Are those really our only options?

[ As much as she wracks her brain to try and think of another way, there's nothing coming. It could be her headaches blocking her off from thinking about it properly, but, persistent as she is, finding a viable solution to keep someone from murdering is an incredibly difficult task... ]

At this point, they're the only ones presented to us, unless we want to try to see what happens if a rule is broken.

[Though Kogami is pretty sure it's death, just based on the fact that if Rule 7 isn't followed through, then the culprit ends up executed.]

[personal profile] halleberry 2017-06-19 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd...rather not see anyone take a risk with that. There's no need to be reckless here...

[ Given, of course, the amount of recklessness that's already happened over the past two weeks. ]

Still, there must be a precaution that could work.

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-06-19 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
No, but playing it safe won't get us anywhere, either.

[Though there is....]

Rule 4 may help us in this case, however.

[Slipping a few things into her pockets (bullets, and two arrows), Rin's attention is drawn to Tsubasa on the other side of the room. After smoothing out her clothes, she calls out to her.]

Any fortune cracking the mysteries of the world up there, Tsubasa?

Nothing conclusive so far, I'm afraid. Or, at the very least, nothing I can glean just by looking at it alone.

[ Of course, she's no detective...maybe Kogami-san can come to a more efficient conclusion than she could. ]

Have you been investigating yourself, Rin-san?
heritrix: (chin up)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-06-19 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Here and there. I'm afraid like most of our party, I too got caught up in the excitement of the pool.

[She did some swimming, anyways, if only so people could see her there.]

[personal profile] halleberry 2017-06-19 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't quite checked it out myself yet. But it is interesting that it would have one to begin with; rooms like a sewing room and a shooting range can be repurposed from other rooms, but something like a pool is a much more difficult task. And while I'm aware that some physical therapy centers use aquatic recreation as a means of exercise, it seems like a fairly uncommon practice.
heritrix: (majestic and shit)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-06-19 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
If you're asking for my opinion, the pool on its own isn't far-fetched as an option for physical therapy, but the size of it is strange. I wonder if it was always there.

[personal profile] halleberry 2017-06-19 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm curious as to whether or not it's a recent addition, myself, or whether it's an expansion. Still, either way, it's something to be grateful for...

[ Assuming, you know, no one winds up face-down in it on Friday. ]
heritrix: (behold such generosity)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-06-20 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
Provided it isn't there to cover up for something more gruesome than this room.
halleberry: (pale fire)

[personal profile] halleberry 2017-06-20 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Don't tell me you're already thinking of draining the pool to see if there are any terrors lying underneath...
heritrix: (daww)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-06-20 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Of course not.

[Entirely too cheerful here.]
halleberry: (1984)

[personal profile] halleberry 2017-06-20 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
[ See you at church, Rin. ]

...I'm not saying don't, but, I'm just questioning the logistics of that...
heritrix: (heh heh)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-06-20 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
[Please no, give her a nobler funeral and pray to the Aztec Gods just to piss Kirei off.]

Well, I'm not going to drain it, but I do want to check it out.
halleberry: (tobacco road)

[personal profile] halleberry 2017-06-20 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
I guess we are allowed to investigate as we please, so if you do manage to find something peculiar at the bottom, the ends justify the means...

[ It's not against the rules, after all. ]

Hanekawa-chan!

[Nozomi wasted absolutely no time getting in the pool today, and she's quick to swim over to Tsubasa once she's plunged her feet in.]

The water feels great, doesn't it?
halleberry: (tobacco road)

[personal profile] halleberry 2017-06-20 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
...I should've known you'd be the first one in here, Kaminashi-san.

[ Her enthusiasm is a bit infectious; she can't help herself. Tsubasa smiles back at her, in spite of her headache. ]

I'm not much of a swimmer, but, the water is comfortable, yes. I'm surprised that we managed to get a pool...
gymasstics: (086)

[personal profile] gymasstics 2017-06-20 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
I'm surprised it's this big! It's not as huge as the keijo stadiums, but this is still the size of an olympic pool, isn't it?

[Aaand there she does.]

What about floating around on your back? That can be really relaxing. Let the water take away your worries.
