Week 3.
Grace and Doug are dead. It seems that there isn't anything more to do but mourn your losses and try to move forward. The Transmitter's rules still hang in every room, a reminder of the only means of escaping this place. But surely no one else will give into them, right? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Once again, however, it seems your efforts won't go unrewarded; another set of corridors have opened up, much in the same fashion as the other new area did last week. With them come new rooms to explore; maybe some of them will be to your liking. Or perhaps it's better to say that hopefully some of them will; after all, if the Transmitter gets her way, you may be here for a very, very long time. |

[OOC: Welcome to week three of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Transmitter, you can do so through text or the phone in your room!]

Rin greets him with a grin, glancing down at the clock to get a gauge on the minute. How long was Rin timing him for, anyhow? Rin wants to commend him for the impressive feat.]
It's fine, I have a solid grip on it. I don't like machines, but you don't have to be a whiz to know electronics and water don't mix.
no subject
You don't like machines?
[He's pretty surprised to hear that. Aren't most teens these days obsessed with technology?]
no subject
Machines are anathema, to one such as myself. I don't mind some aspects of it for modern convenience, but the remainder is unnecessary buzzing.
no subject
[Just pointing that out. Truthfully, he agrees more than he disagrees, but it's still odd to hear it coming from Rin.]
no subject
no subject
Yes, that. It just...surprised me to hear it, I suppose.
no subject
no subject
I am aware of it? I use it sometimes when it's convenient, like you said. I wouldn't say I dislike it, I'm just...indifferent.
no subject
Mm, that's probably the best position to be in. Unlike me, you can walk the line.
no subject
Is there a reason for that...?
no subject
[This is the first time she's said it out loud, though splashing and loud chatter from other pool-goers helps to cover it. Even then she would not have risked it, but she wants to see Lovecraft's honest reaction.]
The conveniences of modern technology are more often inferior to the magical tools magi like myself have used for the same purposes, for centuries longer.
no subject
[While his tone is flat, there's some definite curiosity in Lovecraft's expression. Now he's thinking back to the profiles, and... Right, "magecraft" is under Rin's likes.
He's definitely not unfamiliar with abilities that would be considered magical in nature, but to hear someone claiming to be a mage in particular... Rin isn't even the only one, is she?
With this knowledge...]
Then I assume you are among those coping with a lack of access to that ability.
no subject
It's somewhat infuriating. I can get by without my magecraft, but if I had access to it for even a few minutes, we'd be long gone from this slaughterhouse masquerading as a hospital.
no subject
Yes... That is a common sentiment. And I suspect that is exactly why such abilities have been suppressed.
no subject
That said, it doesn't appear to be absolute. You were down in the water for a long time.
[Longer than any human could manage, she thinks.]
no subject
So, she's been watching... Honestly, it gives him an uncomfortable shiver.]
It's not a result of magic, that's why.
no subject
So it's something you can do naturally.
[She's kicking her feet in the water again, looking down at the bottom.]
To you, being down there must be like paradise. None of us can bother you.
[...she notices the stuff Madison threw at him, various knick-knacks sunk to the bottom.]
Heh. For the most part, anyways.
no subject
Well... It's one step closer, at least. It's more comfortable than my room, even though the chlorine is somewhat annoying.
[They are actually having a casual conversation about this.]
no subject
I forgot about that! Chlorine can really dry you out, you know.
[Man his hair is going to be a mess if he doesn't wash it out immediately when he leaves. Though that's not the actual concern here.]
You didn't get any in your... [Gills? Does Lovecraft have gills.] I mean, you didn't breathe it in, right?
no subject
[The showers can only do so much! But at least they exist, especially to wash the chlorine off.]
I did not breathe any in, no. But it is rather irritating on my eyes.
no subject
We need to get you goggles.
no subject
[Since he didn't even bother changing in the first place. Oops.]
no subject
[Eyes his mess of clothes. You know, subtle like.]
no subject
[What are you trying to get at, Rin. He's not interested.]
no subject
[Why would you want to wear so much clothes in the water, Lovecraft.]
