Week 3.

WEEK 3

Grace and Doug are dead. It seems that there isn't anything more to do but mourn your losses and try to move forward. The Transmitter's rules still hang in every room, a reminder of the only means of escaping this place.

But surely no one else will give into them, right?

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Once again, however, it seems your efforts won't go unrewarded; another set of corridors have opened up, much in the same fashion as the other new area did last week. With them come new rooms to explore; maybe some of them will be to your liking.

Or perhaps it's better to say that hopefully some of them will; after all, if the Transmitter gets her way, you may be here for a very, very long time.

PATIENTS REMAINING: 26

[OOC: Welcome to week three of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Transmitter, you can do so through text or the phone in your room!]

No, I can understand that, most certainly. I've been trying to keep myself sharp as well; entrance exams are coming up this year, and though university isn't quite on the cards for me just yet, there's still an expectation for me to perform well by my faculty and the rest of the student body. If I slip, I'm certain there'll be rumors, and I'd like to avoid that...

[ Even if she's not attending college, she's still one of the top scorers on the practice exams, on a national level, even. For her not to take it would reflect poorly on the school... ]

The mind is as much of a muscle as your arms, though. If you don't keep it stimulated, your acuity drops, like a ligament deteriorates.

I can't imagine how much work that must take... And the pressure, too. [Sakura has no doubts Tsubasa must be a top scorer at her school, and yet she always seems so calm and collected]

Do you ever feel nervous?
halleberry: (of human bondage)

[personal profile] halleberry 2017-06-20 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
It can be a bit overwhelming, but I have more than a fair bit of free time outside of classes, and I spend most of my days at the library, even on weekends and days off. In terms of time management, I have my study habits down to a bit of a science, so I'm typically well-prepared for exams.

[ She's being modest, here. ]

It's not something I take lightly, but at the same time, it's not something that particularly eats away at me, either.

[ Or, so she says. ]

Aah, so you're confident in your abilities.

[The perfect balance between obsessive perfection and self crippling doubt from where Sakura's standing. She's a bit envious, but not so much she can't smile in satisfaction at the answer]

Maybe you could help me with some subjects one day, Hanekawa-san -- oh, I'll tutor you in archery as compensation, if you'd like.
halleberry: (the wings of the dove)

[personal profile] halleberry 2017-06-20 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
That's one way to put it. I don't particularly think it's something far beyond what anyone else with my level of free time could do. Studying is simply a matter of finding the time and getting into good habits. I'm not sure if I could call that an ability as much as it's simply taking advantage of a lack of other obligations.

But I'd like that, Matou-san. If you need help with anything, I'd be more than happy to teach you as much as you'd like. I'm more than happy to help.

[personal profile] imaginex 2017-06-20 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you... though I should probably admit I'm not the best student.

[not a bad one, per se, as Sakura's mind is quite sharp. She just never bothered to apply herself. It was never important]

Sometimes I get a little lazy and don't push myself like I should. I get through my classes without thinking too hard.

That's a sign of intelligence in its own way, to acknowledge a trait like that. Sometimes, in cases like that, you just need a bit of a push, or a way of rewarding yourself. It sounds like a bit of a cliche method, but it's been proven to work; turning something you enjoy into an incentive to push yourself through a subject you don't particularly enjoy is a tried-and-true method. Like letting yourself read one chapter of a book you've been excited to read for every twenty math problems you solve, or something along those lines...

[personal profile] imaginex 2017-06-20 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Aah, like an equivalence exchange.

It's a shame there aren't enough books here, otherwise I think that would work. [She brings a hand to her chin in thought.]

Well... I do like to cook.
halleberry: (henderson the rain king)

[personal profile] halleberry 2017-06-20 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
How about baking, then? I think that could make for an acceptable substitute. Snacks don't make too bad of a motivation, either...I often cook my own meals, myself, but since I study in the library and not at home, it's not often I get to use that as a motivator.
imaginex: (♥ kind)

[personal profile] imaginex 2017-06-20 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't done as much baking as I'd like. Most of my recipes are stove-top or by hand.

[Smiling a little bit.]

Perhaps there's a cookbook lying around somewhere...
halleberry: (ragtime)

[personal profile] halleberry 2017-06-20 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
If we could get one out of the machine, that would be lovely...I know Wheatley-san has been baking cakes, so perhaps he can provide us with one. Otherwise, I know a couple of recipes off the top of my head. I can definitely make a Castella, at the very least.
imaginex: (♥ hopeful)

[personal profile] imaginex 2017-06-20 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
I've seen him baking before, though I never got a chance to try his food. But yes, we should ask him for a recipe.

And Castella is a delicious choice! [oh yes, Sakura has definitely had it, and looks mildly excited by the process. Turns out food is a very big motivator on her end] Or perhaps cookies, if you know of a good recipe?
halleberry: (winesburg ohio)

[personal profile] halleberry 2017-06-20 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
Just a few. We'll need to find the proper supplies, but, I know how to make some basic ones, and I'd be glad to show you that, as well. But Castella is fairly easy to make, and quite tasty, too...they sound like just the reward you'd need to push yourself just a bit further.

I can show you how to make one now, if you'd like. I don't think I've seen you eat a thing all day.
imaginex: (♦ confusion)

[personal profile] imaginex 2017-06-20 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
[A surprised blink] Oh.

I haven't eaten.

[YEAH SHE REALLY DID FORGET.]
halleberry: (1984)

[personal profile] halleberry 2017-06-20 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Matou-san, I had suspected that, but honestly, you have to eat...

[ She can't help but frown; she's glad that she put the bow down, because her instinct is to take her by the hand and gently lead her out of the room. ]

We're going to the kitchen. Sorry, but I'm not taking no for an answer.
imaginex: (♢ avoid)

[personal profile] imaginex 2017-06-20 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
[She'd prefer not to go, in all honesty.

She also knows she might be pressed to explain her obsession with the shooting gallery if she doesn't.

So Tsubasa won't feel any resistance, though Sakura quiets on the way there.]

... I'm really not that hungry, Hanekawa-san.
halleberry: (a house for mister biswas)

[personal profile] halleberry 2017-06-20 01:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Matou-san, if you don't get something to eat soon, the kitchen will close by the time you get there. Seriously, I insist. Especially if you've been exercising all day, you at least need something in your stomach, even if it's small...
imaginex: (♦ glance)

[personal profile] imaginex 2017-06-21 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
[She is being viciously Big Sister'd here.

And y'know... that lightens some of the tension in her shoulders. Just a bit. The girl huffs a small sigh but nods suddenly]

Okay. Maybe some protein?
