Week 3.

WEEK 3 Grace and Doug are dead. It seems that there isn't anything more to do but mourn your losses and try to move forward. The Transmitter's rules still hang in every room, a reminder of the only means of escaping this place. But surely no one else will give into them, right? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Once again, however, it seems your efforts won't go unrewarded; another set of corridors have opened up, much in the same fashion as the other new area did last week. With them come new rooms to explore; maybe some of them will be to your liking. Or perhaps it's better to say that hopefully some of them will; after all, if the Transmitter gets her way, you may be here for a very, very long time. PATIENTS REMAINING: 26

[ . . . Looks from him to painting to him. She might have a maidenly bag over her one good shoulder. ]

Yusuke?

Why on earth was this in the machine?

[ He's staring at the painting, his eyebrows knitting in a frown, and he doesn't move to pick it up. ]

[nachetanya]

Do you recognize it?

[ She looks it over and it... doesn't look that bad to her or anything... ]

[brushworks]

...Yes. [ He takes a deep breath to quell his rising anger. ] It's a forgery made by my adoptive father.

[nachetanya]

A... forgery? How do you forge a painting?

[ She asked, in a world ... well, okay it's probably not pre-art forgery but it's not super common knowledge ]

[brushworks]

You make a copy of a painting and present it as the original, usually to deceive people into paying a fortune for it.

[nachetanya]

Oh. ... Ah, yes, I could see how that would trick some aristocrats, I suppose.

[ Huh... what a near idea...

She leans down to look at it ]

You're certain it's one of them precisely?

[brushworks]

Yes, I am certain. That vile man had dozens of forgeries hidden away in the house.

[nachetanya]

[ Vile man? She stops in her examining, her one hand reached out towards the painting, but her head looks back at the other. ]

... Are you going to be okay, Yusuke?

[brushworks]

I'll be fine, Nachetanya-san. This is just... an unpleasant reminder.

[nachetanya]

[ A frown and- ]

Do you want me to take it instead, or do you want to keep it? Destroy it?

[brushworks]

I will keep it. Destroying it would be... disrespectful. [ He shakes his head, his shoulders slumping a bit. ]

The Sayuri is the painting that made me want to become an artist in the first place; I cannot stand the thought of seeing it destroyed, even if it is a mere fake.

[nachetanya]

It is a beautiful painting.

[ she stands properly, taking a step back ]

I can see how you would be inspired by it. I'm sorry your father gave it such tainted memories.
