Week 3.

WEEK 3 Grace and Doug are dead. It seems that there isn't anything more to do but mourn your losses and try to move forward. The Transmitter's rules still hang in every room, a reminder of the only means of escaping this place. But surely no one else will give into them, right? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Once again, however, it seems your efforts won't go unrewarded; another set of corridors have opened up, much in the same fashion as the other new area did last week. With them come new rooms to explore; maybe some of them will be to your liking. Or perhaps it's better to say that hopefully some of them will; after all, if the Transmitter gets her way, you may be here for a very, very long time. PATIENTS REMAINING: 26

Does that mean it's not very common then?

The one I'm thinkin' of ain't open to the public even though it's always visible. Other ones are used everyday, just not by me.

Always visible, but not open...? Why?

'cause it belongs to the first King.

A King on an airship...? That would make it hard to talk to subjects.

[ At that, he inhales slowly and lifts his shoulder by a fraction of an inch. Isn't that the point? ]

Doesn't really matter. At this point, he might be more of a legend than anything else.

Then he never shows himself? Doesn't sound like a very nice King...

[ A nice King... He can't help but scoff at the idea as he remembers the various Kings and how they rule. None of them were "nice" at all. ]

You okay there?

[ She's not a mind reader, so she just tilts her head quizzically instead. What's up, broody dude? ]

Yeah. [ He moves his hand in a short wave to dismiss her concerns. ]

So you think a King should be kind?

Yes. But hmm, now that you mention it... Kind isn't quite right word? ...Understanding, maybe? Subjects should be able to feel like they can trust their King.

[ Maybe that's not quite the word either. She'll bring a hand to the back of her head, scratching at it as she thinks. ]

Ohh, that's a good word! Yes, reliable! QQ thinks it's something important for anyone trying to lead.

[ A self-depreciating smile passes over his face before he speaks again. ]

And what would it take for a King to show he's just that in your eyes?

Hmm, good question. Trust is important. Might be too simple, but they should be willing to be around and take charge. Even when everyone is having rough time.

[ But that's not enough, is it? What makes a leader a leader, and not someone stepping into the role because no one else can... ]

Perhaps QQ should be bit pickier.
