Week 3.

WEEK 3

Grace and Doug are dead. It seems that there isn't anything more to do but mourn your losses and try to move forward. The Transmitter's rules still hang in every room, a reminder of the only means of escaping this place.

But surely no one else will give into them, right?

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Once again, however, it seems your efforts won't go unrewarded; another set of corridors have opened up, much in the same fashion as the other new area did last week. With them come new rooms to explore; maybe some of them will be to your liking.

Or perhaps it's better to say that hopefully some of them will; after all, if the Transmitter gets her way, you may be here for a very, very long time.

PATIENTS REMAINING: 26

[OOC: Welcome to week three of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Transmitter, you can do so through text or the phone in your room!]

So it's two or three lives against 25.

[ He's stating that very plainly, just making sure he understands that right. He's been thinking about his family a lot this week, with his real name out there and all. His sister, her children... three people who are in danger by his existence only - as long as he lives anyway. Thinking about it as that kind of situation, he almost understands Rin... Almost. ]

No. [Rin does not look at him, as she says this.] It's probably much higher than that.

[She said that was the best case scenario.]

Mhm.

[ Okay, that makes him feel better. Also he's not actually going to ask before sitting down on the bed next to her now. Sorry. ]

I've told you before that I would let you die for the future of my own world and kind, so I don't think I can be cross with you now.

But I also don't think your secret will really be safe even if there is someone dead by the end of the week. The Risen don't appear like the kind of people who will keep word when there is potentially more to be gained by exploiting their power and knowledge. Your secret won't be safe until they are disposed of.
heritrix: (let's do this)

[She doesn't comment on it, though she sits a little straighter. As if she's remembered a part of herself is on display here.]

I know. Until today, taking them out without sacrificing anyone else is what I planned.

But I can't risk that, if I haven't stopped them come Friday. If they would stay true to their word, and there was something I could have done. There— [She sucks in a breath, and lifts her head. Don't imagine it.] There's too much at stake for me not to try.

[ George goes silent for a bit at that. ]

I could say that there may always be a way we can use the Risen's memory loss power to revert the damage in the end, but I myself wouldn't want to let the fate of my world rely on such flimsy hypotheses.

But if you do it, nobody on the trial will show any mercy for it.

They'll have to catch me first. I'm sorry, but I have a selfish personality and I don't want to die.

[Very matter-of-fact, but not malicious. One would really have to question if she really gets how impossible she's made the tasking of winning for herself, if that's what she intends, or has fully thought through the consequences if not for what she says next.]

But if I'm caught and I do die, I can accept that. If I die, I still win. On top of everything else, I'll be executed upon returning home if my secret gets out, so quite literally I have nothing to lose.

[personal profile] georgeous 2017-06-25 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, we will catch you. If it's about ensuring survival, I won't hold back any on the investigation, regardless of who the killer is.

[ He really, really should be angrier at Rin, but she's being calm and collected about all of this and he can't bring himself to. It's nothing personal, for any of them. It's just a matter of securing yourself the best possible outcome. ]

So then by the end of the week, we'll be fighting for each other's death. Look at how fast it's come to that.

[A curious effect is brought on by his first statement. She holds her head higher, not on the defensive but with something more prideful. She watches him with what could be approval.]

It's a shame. You have a few flaws that can't be ignored, but I like people like you.

[It really, really isn't personal.]
georgeous: (Over shoulder glance)

[personal profile] georgeous 2017-06-25 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He chuckles at that. ]

A few flaws, huh...?

Likewise, however. It's useful to have you in the group and it will be inconvenient to lose you.
heritrix: (delightful)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-06-25 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[Finally a grin, if only a small one.]

I stand true to what I said out there, that I won't try anything until Friday. Beyond survival, we still have a mutual goal in stopping the Risen, so for me that comes first.

[She hums, thinking about that some more.] It's too late to say things like "you can still consider me your ally until then" but if you discover anything, let me know. Like a locked door. I might have something for that.
georgeous: (Flirty)

[personal profile] georgeous 2017-07-03 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
... oh?

[ A smile and a curious headtilt. ]

Well, if your lock-pick abilities are what is needed to get us to a breakthrough, I'll be very grateful you have told me this. You'll be contacted right away.
heritrix: (everything belongs to me)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-07-04 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
Nothing so grand. I simply found a key that has to be used for something.

[She'll show it to him, taking it from her pocket: a silver key.]
georgeous: (Mock)

[personal profile] georgeous 2017-07-04 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
.... you know, that might actually be way better.

[ He'll take a close look at it, but it's not like he can read a key's mind so there's no insight gained. ]
