[Well, that was one hell of a trial. Kogami’s tired and hungry. He’ll get his staple hamburgers, but maybe he’ll be nice enough to help make some for everyone.

So there’s a note that goes out:]

Food in the dining hall – K, P, Q, & R

[It’s quickly written and straightforward.

And indeed there is food. There’s a shitton of hamburgers made by Kogami and Rose, the sliced cheese prepared by Pizzaz, and cake by QQ. Pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise and other such condiments are set out as well as an assortment of buns.

There’s not lighted candles this time, so it’s clear that the usual preparers didn’t help with this ‘buffet’. (Well, if it wasn’t clear with the note).

So rest, relax, and well, you’re probably going to have to get your own drinks this time, sorry…]

Hmmm. That is a good way of putting it. Gant may not have been a good man, but I meant what I said to him - I am sorry that it had to end that way.

At the time, I was so... angry, at what he said—about what he did. So much so that I was almost glad for his punishment. But after thinking about it... at one point, before he strayed from the path, he had nothing good intentions.

[ It's hard to accept that the world isn't only black or white. ]

He strayed because he wished to protect his people. And in doing so, he came to be a danger to them himself. But you are right - he meant well, once.

[It's something Asgore knows. But it is still not pleasant to see.]

At least his last request was an attempt to repair some of the damage. Perhaps he felt more badly about it than he showed.

I've heard once that, before death, people's mind becomes clear—like, you see your memories from an outside view. Maybe something similar to that happened to him; and he realized the wrongs of his way.

[ She looks down at her cup, and then takes a sip. ]

That's probably just a rumor though; it's not exactly reassuring for the person who's about to die, but those left behind and hurt.

Who can say? Perhaps it was just the first time he had to see the looks on others' faces when they learned what he had done. We were the first to ever discover it, it seems.

Until now, he had thought himself above consequences.

I suppose if you view yourself at the top, everything would seem beneath you... I don't have any personal experience with that, but I've read books where that sort of thing happens.

[ Well, that first part is a little untrue—Father certainly thought himself above all. ]

It is something of a recurring theme, is it not? Those who have power seeking more.

[As an actual monarch, he could probably say some things, but they all sound weirdly self-righteous or defensive. So he just stays quiet.]

Yes. [ She pauses for a moment, wonder if she should bring up a topic. Well, it's not like it matter if anyone here knows. Plus, she feels like Asgore is someone she can confine in. ]

That's why, for the sake of peace, I'm going to dethrone him.

Yes, that seems like the right choice. Someone who would start an entire war solely for the sake of power cannot be a good leader. I do not like violence, but it will be worse if he remains king.

My Father might have started the war, but I'll be the one to end it. [ Her tone is serious as she says it, but she softens afterwards. ] Children are suppose to clean up their parents mistakes, aren't they?

...I do not think so. They should not have to. But it is noble that you intend to, all the same.

Maybe... but even so, we're the only ones who can stop him in order to bring peace to Nohr and restore to it to it's former glory.

Of course. You have a duty to your people, after all, even as he does. I am glad that you shall be a better ruler.

Well, I'm third in line, so I won't really be doing much ruling. Outside of helping Xander, I'm not quite sure what I'll do once the war is over. [
She's not much of a long term planner... ]

Well, any ruler needs good advisers. And rebuilding a kingdom after war is difficult work. I imagine you shall be quite busy.
