[Well, that was one hell of a trial. Kogami’s tired and hungry. He’ll get his staple hamburgers, but maybe he’ll be nice enough to help make some for everyone.

So there’s a note that goes out:]

Food in the dining hall – K, P, Q, & R

[It’s quickly written and straightforward.

And indeed there is food. There’s a shitton of hamburgers made by Kogami and Rose, the sliced cheese prepared by Pizzaz, and cake by QQ. Pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise and other such condiments are set out as well as an assortment of buns.

There’s not lighted candles this time, so it’s clear that the usual preparers didn’t help with this ‘buffet’. (Well, if it wasn’t clear with the note).

So rest, relax, and well, you’re probably going to have to get your own drinks this time, sorry…]

I've been trying them mostly on myself, though I have also been trying to find something that will help Kogami other than smoking as a coping method for getting any sleep here.

[And now, his tone becomes a little more serious.]

What you did involving Miss Rin, while preventing her from committing murder, could have been very dangerous if you had given her an overdose. You could have been the one being executed today if she had died.

I believe that you had the best intentions, but... from now on, if you are considering doing something like that again, can you at least tell me so that I can make sure that you're not giving someone too many of those pills?

You're asking to be my accomplice should I think impairing someone is my only choice?

Personally, I would prefer that you didn't do that at all, but at least having some knowledge ahead of time of what's going on would be preferable to risking potential side effects during a trial and, as a doctor, being unable to help them because everything I would have needed is back in the infirmary where we can't get to it once the trial starts.

Yes... it'd be very rude to impede on your job. I admit, I didn't consider that angle... My apologies.

You don't need to apologize: like I said, I understand why you did it, so I'm not mad. Rin shouldn't have acted the way she had this week in response to those secrets... but, I want you to be more careful before considering an option like that again. A lot of people would be very upset if you were labeled a murderer, even by accident.

If it helps to console you, I chose that option after testing it on myself. I gave Tohsaka-senpai less than what I gave myself, so I assumed she'd be alright.

[a pause, and then with a relenting sigh]

But it still affected her more than I assumed it would, so I agree... I should've been careful from the start.
