Trustfell 5: A Good Day to Trust Fall ([personal profile] trustfellowship) wrote in [community profile] trustfelled2017-07-02 11:45 am

Week 5.

WEEK 5

Another week has passed; another two people have died. Tsubasa Hanekawa and Nachetanya Loei Piena Augustra have joined the ranks of the deceased. Whatever you may have thought about them in the end, one thing hovers heavy over the group: the fact that neither their compassion nor their ambition was enough to keep them alive in here.

Is yours?

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

And of course, with another successful trial comes a new addition to the building, another corridor opening up on the west side of the building. The doors leading to it branch off of the hallways leading to the second and fourth sections of the building; have those doors always been there? You can't remember...

It's a new week. Of course, that means you've been here for over a month, and your stay doesn't seem to be coming to a close yet.

Yeah, I know.

[Boy, does he. He sighs, falling silent.]

You want to talk about it? I doubt anyone's gonna bug us this time of day.

[personal profile] cadmiums 2017-07-02 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm, that's true. [ And he likes Greed, more than he likes most others here. ]

I remembered something important, it's put a lot of things into perspective for me. It's also the reason why I get along with you so well, I think.
ossifragant: (Ò of names and dates)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2017-07-02 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
That so?

[He's not sure what to say about that, though he does look curious now.]

I remembered something important, too.
cadmiums: (ʟᴠɪɪ)

[personal profile] cadmiums 2017-07-02 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. [ A beat. ] You told me you weren't human a while ago. That partially applies to me too.

[ He smiles, but there's not really anything there. ]
ossifragant: (⊗ your children have turned on you)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2017-07-02 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you... like me?

[The smile is more alarming than unnerving to him.

He's also not sure if he's outright told Ryoji what he is, because it's not something that comes up much if he can help it.]
cadmiums: (ʟxᴠɪɪɪ)

[personal profile] cadmiums 2017-07-02 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Like you... [ He thinks about that, trying to recall the exact specifics of their past conversations. ]

You've told me that you're not human and that someone created you, someone who treated you horribly. I'm afraid without knowing more, I can't answer that question.
ossifragant: (⊕ we can't get out)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2017-07-02 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's silent for a long moment, trying to decide whether or not to elaborate. He's already told a couple people the truth, and it's been weeks now, over a month. He's not sure how much time he has, at this point.]

Homunculi are born when an alchemist tries to recreate life. Raise the dead, in other words.
cadmiums: (ʟxxɪ)

[personal profile] cadmiums 2017-07-02 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[ That gets a rather strong reaction out of him, it's not necessarily harsh but it is somewhat disapproving. ]

That's not a wise thing to do. In that case...no, I'm not like a homunculi. I was born in a different way than humans, though.
ossifragant: (Ò from the dust of earth returning)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2017-07-02 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
No, it's not. It's considered a violation of the laws of nature-- people who do it tend to come away with fewer body parts than they started with, as part of "Equivalent Exchange." In any case, though... you're not alone. You've got Asgore, too.
cadmiums: (ʟxɪᴠ)

[personal profile] cadmiums 2017-07-02 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Death is inescapable in the end.

I don't think he's like me. But that's alright, I think it's better that way. [ There's emotion in the last sentence as much as he tries to mask it, of sadness. ]
ossifragant: (Ŏ this was a simple design)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2017-07-02 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Inescapable... Yeah. Yeah, I'd agree with that.

[He's silent for a long, long time.]

Haven't mentioned this to anyone else, but we homunculi, we're.... aware we shouldn't be alive. That we shouldn't exist. It's always present, the first thought we have, before we're even really aware of what we are.

[personal profile] cadmiums 2017-07-02 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not your fault. Humans chase both life and death, they have ever since the beginning of time when they tasted the forbidden fruit.
ossifragant: (⊗ your children have turned on you)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2017-07-03 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
The forbidden fruit?

[He doesn't sound familiar.]
cadmiums: (ʟxᴠɪɪɪ)

[personal profile] cadmiums 2017-07-03 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Have you never heard the tale of Adam and Eve? It may be different in your world, but I can tell you if you want.
ossifragant: (Ô got hurt a long time ago)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2017-07-03 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not very sure-- Amestris isn't the most religious of countries. Go ahead, if you want.
cadmiums: (ɪɪɪ)

[personal profile] cadmiums 2017-07-03 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
In the beginning, God created Man in his own image and gave him shelter in paradise, in the Garden of Eden. It was a bountiful place, and Man wanted not except for companionship, and so God created Eve. For a time, the two lived prosperously, tending to the fields, crop, and animals that lived along side them. There was only one crop they could not eat, the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge. If they ate this fruit God warned, they would know of the existence of Good and Evil and would be banished from the Garden forever.

And for a time they obeyed this rule, until they were tempted by the Devil to eat the forbidden fruit. When they did, they were filled with shame and were banished from the Garden to Earth. From then on, they were no longer immortal and had to face the world largely on their own.
ossifragant: (Ò do thou spare him)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2017-07-03 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
[Greed listens with great interest, and doesn't interrupt. He only speaks after Ryoji has stopped speaking.]

I think I've heard a little about that, from a religion that has largely fallen out of favor in Amestris. Bits and pieces of it are still followed; you can see it in my name, and the names of the other homunculi.
cadmiums: (ʟᴠɪɪ)

[personal profile] cadmiums 2017-07-03 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Gluttony, Lust, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, Pride, and...Greed. Am I right?
ossifragant: father king (⊕ fear the heat of passion)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2017-07-03 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
That's right. Though, as far as I'm aware, there isn't currently a Lust, Sloth, or Wrath.

When... one of us dies, she just starts over with a new name.

[Which sort of implies any actual avarice on the part of Greed's personality is more or less a horrific defense mechanism.]
cadmiums: (ʟxᴠɪɪɪ)

[personal profile] cadmiums 2017-07-03 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
[ ... ]

Why would she do that?
ossifragant: (◌ to make amends)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2017-07-03 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Because we're replaceable.

[It sounds more like he's stating a fact than anything else.]
cadmiums: (ʟxɪɪɪ)

[personal profile] cadmiums 2017-07-03 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Every life is unique, valuable by it's existence alone. To create and treat it so haphazardly...it's no wonder humans call out for her presence.

[ ??? ]
ossifragant: (Ò from the dust of earth returning)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2017-07-03 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[That gets him to look at Ryoji.]

"Her" presence?
cadmiums: (xᴠɪɪɪ)

[personal profile] cadmiums 2017-07-03 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't- I shouldn't have said that, sorry.
ossifragant: (Ò from the dust of earth returning)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2017-07-03 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[He still looks confused.]

Don't worry about it.
