Week 5.
Another week has passed; another two people have died. Tsubasa Hanekawa and Nachetanya Loei Piena Augustra have joined the ranks of the deceased. Whatever you may have thought about them in the end, one thing hovers heavy over the group: the fact that neither their compassion nor their ambition was enough to keep them alive in here. Is yours? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... And of course, with another successful trial comes a new addition to the building, another corridor opening up on the west side of the building. The doors leading to it branch off of the hallways leading to the second and fourth sections of the building; have those doors always been there? You can't remember... It's a new week. Of course, that means you've been here for over a month, and your stay doesn't seem to be coming to a close yet. |

[OOC: Welcome to week five of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Transmitter, you can do so through text or the phone in your room!]

[Just when they were having a nice time, too! She folds her arms in a huff, the supplies tucked to her chest.]
What? Should I have been reviewing military tactics whilst walking down a hall in the middle of the day?
no subject
[Who wanders past their room like that? Only someone who's head is filled with far too many thoughts.]
no subject
[Still didn't put together how long he was watching her here.]
no subject
[Yeah, he's been watching her...]
no subject
[That's not as scathing as it could be; if he was watching her for that long he's justified for the earlier comments. It's more like she's trying to save face here, and keep up an air of normalcy.]
no subject
[The way he says it is totally condescending, especially since he's moving his head to pop his neck.]
no subject
[This is a difficult expression to read, as she makes her way towards her door.]
no subject
[He's pretty much smirking at her now. It's fun seeing this side of her.]
no subject
[There's some fondness underneath another emotion that's harder to pin down. What's probably more noticeable to Kogami, however, is the past tense.]
no subject
[He does catch on to that past tense. At the moment, he won't pry more than that.]
no subject
...Hey, Kogami.
[She speaks to him casually, with a tone that belies something more earnest.]
When you asked me to be your master, what qualities did you recognize in me that made you think I would be suitable for the role?
tw: sexual abuse
Conviction. You're on a clear path. You know what you want to do, but you don't just think optimistically. You know how to set forth that path, too and you're not afraid to lead others down it.
[He leans against her door frame.]
A few months ago, at least it was a few months ago from my last memory, we had a new hire. Wide eyed doe type and she was assigned to be my new owner. She had a positive view of the law and probably hadn't done any dirty work in her life. Right off the bat, she was put on a pretty nasty case-- that's when I first met her. I told her that if she didn't like what I was doing she should shoot me with the dominator. Since I'm a latent criminal, it would unlock and shoot me with an electromagnetic shock, not unlike a taser.
Fast forward about an hour, there's a girl who was a victim of sexual abuse. Sibyl killed her abuser, but it seemed her crime-coefficient had reached the level she was to be killed as well, even though she was the victim. With gasoline all around her and a lighter, she was about to take us all out. Tsunemori begged me not to kill her, that she was the victim.
So I taunted her. "Shoot me if you don't like it." Guess what happened next?
I woke up in a hospital unable to move for two days because she hit me directly in the spine. I couldn't help but respect her after that. She chose justice before her job.
[All of this said is with a fondness in his voice.]
I suppose I sensed the same from you.

Shoulders stiff, Rin continues to keep her back to him initially, but when the story begins she shifts from one leg to the other; turns her body just slightly towards him with her face in profile.
He has her complete attention. If he's watching for it, her face is composed, but her eyes unnaturally bright, taking all of this in intently. Wheels turning. She didn't ask this question on a whim, and some layer to his story is helping her find her answer.
She's silent for several moments, after he's completed the tale. Then:]
...I'm not sure I believe in justice, but I think I'd like her.
no subject
[He looks down at the ground and he smiles sincerely. Something often not seen from Kogami, especially here.]
She treats me like an equal and if anything, I suppose I don't think of her as my owner, but as my partner.
[He knows she thinks the same. She treated him like a human-- she had from the first day.]
no subject
But there's also something profoundly sad behind her gaze too. As best as she can, Rin tries to hide it. She doesn't dare open her mouth just yet, because she's sure if she did her voice would give it away.]
no subject
Yeah, so that's enough about her.
[He chuckles. He didn't mean for it to go on about Tsunemori, but it shows just how much he cares for and respects the woman.]
no subject
She always knew those things, of course, but not as it pertained to her.]
I got off to about as bad as start with Archer as I did with you, when we first met.
[Her voice doesn't shake when she speaks. That's good; she trusts herself enough to continue.]
He took me for someone young and inexperienced, and told me I should wait in the basement while he did all the fighting for me.
[There's a touch of genuine humor to her groan, recalling it.] It was so condescending. He told me he acknowledged me as his Master, but in form only, and would be the one calling all the shots. That made me really angry.
no subject
[He chuckles. It almost confirms they really would get along.]
Sounds like you've experienced the same thing, then.
no subject
It was a reckless move that shouldn't have worked in the first place, but that it did even halfway impressed him. He took back everything he said and apologized for looking down on me, and even praised my skill.
[She had been so proud in that moment. Archer had been the first person to acknowledge her talent in such a way.]
Things went smoothly over the next several days, as we started to understand one another. I was annoyed that I hadn't summoned the Saber-class Servant as I'd intended, but Archer...
[She holds a hand, close to her heart.] We were compatible, in every sense. We would bicker, but our synergy was flawless. In combat he would follow my every order without hesitation, and there were times I didn't have to say the words.
He knew what I wanted from him, and I knew he would be there. I didn't think twice about jumping off that skyscraper, because I knew he would catch me.
no subject
[He knows with Tsunemori. Maybe she had a blind trust in him, but... he was glad for it.]
However, it is a good thing he caught you when you jumped off a sky scraper. That wouldn't have been a fun death. Instant. But not fun.
no subject
That kind of trust is hard to find.]
no subject
Did I say something wrong?
[Because it's clearly something he said that's making her react like this.]
no subject
[But her voice is thick and she's not laughing.]
no subject
If you say so.
