Week 5.

WEEK 5

Another week has passed; another two people have died. Tsubasa Hanekawa and Nachetanya Loei Piena Augustra have joined the ranks of the deceased. Whatever you may have thought about them in the end, one thing hovers heavy over the group: the fact that neither their compassion nor their ambition was enough to keep them alive in here.

Is yours?

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

And of course, with another successful trial comes a new addition to the building, another corridor opening up on the west side of the building. The doors leading to it branch off of the hallways leading to the second and fourth sections of the building; have those doors always been there? You can't remember...

It's a new week. Of course, that means you've been here for over a month, and your stay doesn't seem to be coming to a close yet.

...Asgore? Are you okay?

[Asgore's absence the day before was rather unusual. It's even more unusual that he's here, guzzling coffee over and over. And the posture, that doesn't help either]

You look--you don't look good. Or, in case that's something you don't want to hear right now, then you look great.

...but I mean it, is there something wrong?

It is...

[He trails off for a second, as if unsure how to finish the sentence. Ordinarily he might brush off his own troubles, but this?]

...yes. Something I remembered yesterday.

Oh. I see... [It must be something really depressing if it has Asgore in such state] I know I may not be the best person to talk this with, but if you, well, need someone to listen, I don't mind helping.

I owe you for your kindness, so I thought I could, you know, give you some in return.

[Wheatley really, really isn't sure how listening someone's problems is supposed to go, but he's willing to make the effort]

...that is very kind, Wheatley.

[Though he does, briefly, consider turning the offer down. But he should tell someone, should he not?]

My children are dead. [okay and now he sort of looks like he might cry from having said it aloud]

[The moment Asgore says his children are dead, Wheatley immediately regrets having asked. He's not prepared to deal with a grieving father. Walking away and leaving Asgore into his sadness doesn't seem like a good decision either]

Oh. That's...very...very...very tough. I'm sorry for your loss.

[He's at a loss of words, unsure of what to say. In times like these, giving some hope may be good? Even if it's fleeting?]

Um, I don't really know about monsters' vital signs, but are you sure they're...I mean, maybe there's a misunderstanding in your most recent memory. It may not have been as bad as it looked...I hope?

[Well, you know. This is kinda what he gets for choosing to accept an offer at comfort from Wheatley of all people.]

Thank you. But no.

[His tone is very final. He will not be describing why.]
dangerousfool: (That was a jump. Say apple)

[personal profile] dangerousfool 2017-07-07 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
[The tone is caught and understood. Damn, Asgore...]

You know, I'd understand if you want to be alone in your room or something for -- the rest of the week. Or the month. I could do anything you want to do, don't force yourself, and if anyone asks, I could tell them you had a sudden case of...osteoporosis. Yes. That'll work...

[His voice trails off for a moment]

...what I'm trying to say is that you don't need to do anything right now, just--leave it all to us. And if you need something you can ask anyone, we will help you. I can promise you that. So don't worry. You have our support.

[...wow. Osteoporosis aside, Asgore actually seems really touched by this.]

Thank you, Wheatley. You...you are very kind.
