Week 5.

WEEK 5 Another week has passed; another two people have died. Tsubasa Hanekawa and Nachetanya Loei Piena Augustra have joined the ranks of the deceased. Whatever you may have thought about them in the end, one thing hovers heavy over the group: the fact that neither their compassion nor their ambition was enough to keep them alive in here. Is yours? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... And of course, with another successful trial comes a new addition to the building, another corridor opening up on the west side of the building. The doors leading to it branch off of the hallways leading to the second and fourth sections of the building; have those doors always been there? You can't remember... It's a new week. Of course, that means you've been here for over a month, and your stay doesn't seem to be coming to a close yet. PATIENTS REMAINING: 22

These days everyone looks disheartened, things are looking bad...

[And Wheatley can't blame them, the whole hostage thing is rather bad. Sakura looks as downtrodden as a lot of other people. After a moment he tries to approach]

I don't really know who the person you saw in those videos is, but they'll be okay. You know that, right? Because...we saw them but that doesn't mean they're in the same situation than us. They'll be okay.

[He's still new at this whole empathy thing, but he's going to try nonetheless. Will you be okay, Sakura?]

[Sakura exists on a constant continuum of "not okay" but that doesn't mean she can't appreciate a robot giving this empathy a shot. Smiling faintly, she puts down her pencil and turns her attention to him]

It was my brother. [And someone else, but she doesn't dare talk about him yet] And I'm... I'm sure you're right.

He'll be fine.

[Mmm, by that smile dies soon after she speaks. She glances at the floor]

Did you recognize anyone, Wheatley-san?

Yup, I did. It's her, the test subject. I bet she and I were together when we got captured by whoever brought us here. Yes, that makes sense.

[Wheatley tilts his head]

If there's one thing she has it's tenacity. Scored in the 99th percentile for that trait, very impressive. She will--she'll be fine. But she'd be better if I was there with her.

[Because her survival was all Wheatley's work, he's sure of it]

Your brother will like her, if he doesn't mind someone who doesn't talk at all. I bet they'll make a good team.

[This situation is not one that calls for giggles, but Wheatley's comment seems to have tickled her]

Nii-san has experience with very quiet girls... so yes, I hope they do like each other.

... But at least you know where your friend is now.

See? He's going to have a friend with him. Things will go fine over there.

I do wonder what kind of people the rest over there is like. Will it be a weird group like ours? Most likely it is. What do you think?

[She needs that question answered first, okay. Here Sakura thought everyone was pretty sweet, albeit with the occasional murder from someone you thought you could trust.]

Sure, it is! Look at all of us, we're...lots of humans, and a monster, and a machine...and the humans know magic and come from all kind of places and everyone does all kind of stuff I had never seen before...

It's a weird group. We're all weird.

[It doesn't seem like he means to be despective, but yeah, his choice of words is kind of unfortunate]

When you phrase it like that, I suppose I have to agree with you.

[Hilariously enough, Wheatley counts as the strangest thing Sakura's ever encountered. Mages aren't good with technology, okay?]

If Nii-san's group is anything like ours, then maybe he'll be okay...

At least until we find a way to reach them.

Reach them...do you think they're nearby? Do you think we can get there once we're out of here?

[She says, while being forced to sit and wait. How she hate this]

They could be in the hospital for all we know; just in a different room or... a different floor...

Yes, they may be nearby. I wish I could hack the walls, that'd help, but I can't do such thing. Believe me, I tried.

Even with my magecraft, I don't think I'd be able to do much here...

Maybe you could do something if you had that. Tell me, what kind of magecraft do you usually have?

W-well... it deals primarily with absorption.

[Ahaha, good thing Wheatley is likely to be immune to that, eh?]

Oh. I see. Yes, that doesn't sound like it'd help. Unless you can absorb the walls. That doesn't--that wouldn't be healthy.

What practical uses does that absorption magic of yours have, exactly?

N-no, I couldn't absorb non-organic material like that.

And it -- well, the absorption is for mana, specifically. [She's only telling him this because frankly, in this place? It doesn't matter without her abilities] It's what mages use to power their magecraft, you could say.
