Week 5.

WEEK 5 Another week has passed; another two people have died. Tsubasa Hanekawa and Nachetanya Loei Piena Augustra have joined the ranks of the deceased. Whatever you may have thought about them in the end, one thing hovers heavy over the group: the fact that neither their compassion nor their ambition was enough to keep them alive in here. Is yours? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... And of course, with another successful trial comes a new addition to the building, another corridor opening up on the west side of the building. The doors leading to it branch off of the hallways leading to the second and fourth sections of the building; have those doors always been there? You can't remember... It's a new week. Of course, that means you've been here for over a month, and your stay doesn't seem to be coming to a close yet. PATIENTS REMAINING: 22

[Greed watches Asgore for a long moment before he steps inside. It's both a relief seeing the man and also a little alarming, because him locking himself away is unusual enough to alarm Greed.]

...Asgore?

Ah. Greed.

[He gathers himself up enough to smile at him over the coffee cup.]

Good morning.

You want anything? I'm no cook, but I could probably fry some eggs.

[Or pour cereal, you know. Things that don't involve any real knowledge.]

No, no, that is fine...thank you.

[His reply is a little abstracted still, and it's as if he nearly forgot to offer thanks. Yeah, he's not really all together.]

[ossifragant]

I... take it you must have remembered something terrible.

[He doesn't seem to be asking for clarification.]

I've got some booze in my room. Says on the bottle it's non-alcoholic, but maybe it's lying.

...that is something I could never indulge in, at home.

[Royal appearance and all.]

I imagine it would take a great deal of human alcohol, regardless. [or maybe not who knows how monsters work it's NOT ME]

[hey, it's the magic sake that makes people drunk despite having no actual alcohol in it, MAYBE IT WOULD WORK]

Maybe. Can't blame you for wanting to keep your image going, back home.

There are...expectations. Some far easier to meet than others.

[He seems a little angry at himself for something.]

[He looks at Asgore for a long moment before he stares at his own hands.]

...Yeah. When... you're a leader, you've got to pretend you know what you're doing, even when you're just making it up as you go along.

...are you a leader, Greed?

[let's just move on to trying to address other people's problems?]

[He nods.]

I'm not sure how I got myself into the position, to be honest. I didn't mean for it to happen, it just... did.

[journalname]

It often seems to happen that way, does it not? I am only king by virtue of my birth. Whether I am suited for it or not, that does not make a difference in our traditions.

[...he's never seemed quite this down about rulership before.]

[ossifragant]

I was just the right guy at the right moment, I guess. I figured I could get the help, and I did.

I guess I'd just been isolated long enough to forget people end up looking up to you when you do that.

[journalname]

It sounds as though you earned it. In their eyes, at least. May I ask what it was you did?

[ossifragant]

I don't know, exactly, my memories haven't come back in order. But somehow, I got out of the prison I was in, and broke a lot of people out of a laboratory along with myself. They were being experimented on-- combining humans and animals together. Hell if I know why; one of them told me it was done to silence them because of something the military had done.

They'd all been in that place for nearly a decade, if not longer. A long time, by human standards.

I guess you could say I saved them, but I've never thought of it that way.

[journalname]

It certainly sounds that way. That was very brave! And I am...glad to hear that you escaped your prison, as well.

[ossifragant]

Yeah. I'm glad I got out of there.

[journalname]

Have you somewhere to go, after?

[ossifragant]

....After this?

Honestly, I don't know.

[He had been talking about his group in the present tense, but...]

...I am sure you will be able to find something. Perhaps you can get away from it all, and find a new place to settle?

[ossifragant]

Maybe. Right now, I'm taking this one day at a time, you know?
