WEEK 5
Another week has passed; another two people have died. Tsubasa Hanekawa and Nachetanya Loei Piena Augustra have joined the ranks of the deceased. Whatever you may have thought about them in the end, one thing hovers heavy over the group: the fact that neither their compassion nor their ambition was enough to keep them alive in here.

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

And of course, with another successful trial comes a new addition to the building, another corridor opening up on the west side of the building. The doors leading to it branch off of the hallways leading to the second and fourth sections of the building; have those doors always been there? You can't remember...

It's a new week. Of course, that means you've been here for over a month, and your stay doesn't seem to be coming to a close yet.

[The arcade is certainly different, and it's one of the rooms Krauser hasn't really looked over since it opened. That's why he's here now and he's certainly not expecting to find Wesker here. Krauser watches for a little while from the doorway, as he always does, before speaking up.]

Didn't think you'd have any interest in games like that.

[Though it looks like Wesker's really good at... whatever this game is.]

He doesn't turn around or divide his attention from the machine; he just...keeps doing what he's doing.]

I normally don't. But this is calming, for now.

I'm not sure I'll call bright lights and obnoxious music "calming", but if you say so.

[He's going to continue to watch from over here though, because whatever you're doing is actually kind of fascinating.]

Several of the systems I've worked on for Umbrella have had consoles that are all about this bright. The manipulation method is...similar, as well.

[Which is why he may have spent way too much of today reprogramming one of the beatmaps, um.

That said, he's quiet for a moment, before- ]

The music is a bit much, however, I'll grant that.

[Oh, so it's similar to what he's worked on back home.

So have you beat the high score yet?

Mm. Right now I am the high score - I rewrote this particular setting earlier.

[He's gonna piss off whomever tries to do this after him, um.]

I can't say I'm surprised. Let me guess, you rewrote it so that it's similar to something you do back home?

The security grid for the Raccoon City Hive, yes.

[Honestly, he's not sure why he defaulted to that one; he was stationed in Tokyo for longer overall, and his memories of Raccoon City aren't...good ones, right now. But it was the most familiar one he had, the first one to come to mind when he was trying to think of anything at all, so here it is.]

Hopefully someone will try to play this song and get really confused.

Other than witnessing the Risen's latest show, yes.

A girl Leon and I saved two years ago and Leon himself. I have no idea why he's there.

I don't know why they think I'd save either of my hostages either. I'm trying to kill Leon, after all.

[He's not really sure what to say about Wesker's, so this is easier.]

Trying to kill someone and being able to appreciate them isn't mutually exclusive, I suppose.

Yeah, I suppose that's true. It's just strange to see him of all people here.

This is probably better than having a second Wesker around though.]

[But he's always been the sort to pick things up quickly, so he'll join Wesker. Are you going to set him on the one you've been working on or are you going to make him play the damn game?]

[...He's not enough of an asshole (to you) to set you on the one he's been working on unless that's really what you want here, buddy. He figures you might actually want to play the game normally if you're going to do this at all.]

[Thank you for not being enough of an asshole (to him) to set him on the thing that doesn't match with the music, he definitely wouldn't be able to figure that one out.

With that said his reflexes are good and he's actually quick to figure out what he's doing with the rhythms. Sure, he's doing it with the exact same expression on his face and he doesn't look like he's enjoying it at all, but there he goes.]

[...He has never seen a man look so generally unimpressed at a Japanese rhythm game in his life, oh my god. Never mind that he probably does the exact same thing with his face while he's playing, that's not the point.]

You seem to be catching on easily enough, anyway.

It's not that difficult.

Once he's done with the song he'll just look sort of unimpressed at his score before turning to Wesker.]

What made you decide to reprogram one of the songs anyway?
