WEEK 5
Another week has passed; another two people have died. Tsubasa Hanekawa and Nachetanya Loei Piena Augustra have joined the ranks of the deceased. Whatever you may have thought about them in the end, one thing hovers heavy over the group: the fact that neither their compassion nor their ambition was enough to keep them alive in here.

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

And of course, with another successful trial comes a new addition to the building, another corridor opening up on the west side of the building. The doors leading to it branch off of the hallways leading to the second and fourth sections of the building; have those doors always been there? You can't remember...

It's a new week. Of course, that means you've been here for over a month, and your stay doesn't seem to be coming to a close yet.

[She does indeed notice the desk first and walks towards it with a curious expression, carefully running her hand over the engraving of the crane.]

It looks pretty.

Thank you... it was easier than carving a real crane. [ But unicorns are just fine apparently. ]

What made you decide to do it?

It's a gift for [ Stops, pauses. ] my girlfriend. She likes cranes and unicorns, and it's actually pretty relaxing to do.

Oh, right! Because she can see into the rooms, right?

Yeah, and there's no rule against marking up the desks or decorating our rooms.

That's really thoughtful of you. I bet she likes it.

[ A small smile. ] I hope she does, the unicorn is for her too.

What made you decide on the unicorn?

She really likes them, I think they're her favorite animal.

Somehow, I didn't expect that... That's really cute of her, though.

It is. I hope I can show her one, one day.

A real one might be a little hard...

For her, I'll see what I can do.

Wow... You two really do make a good pair.

What do you mean?

From what I've gotten out of the conversations I've had with her... She seems like she doesn't have a lot of hope, and if there's anyone who could give her something like that, it would be you.

[ Ryoji's been muted their entire talk, but he's gotten more and more animated as they've spoken about The Transmitter. Here though, he manages to really smile. ]

...it's mutual.

Mutual?

[ Quietly: ]

We give each other hope.

[Now it's her turn to really smile, a new kind of sincerity in her expression.]

I'm really happy for you, Ryoji.

[ For a second he doesn't seem like he knows how to handle the sincerity she's showed him, but then he smiles back earnestly. ]

Thank you, Rose. We should go get the other cleaning supplies, right? If we work together I'm sure we'll have it done in no time.

Oh, um, only if you're sure! I could grab them on my own if you're busy.

Yeah, I'm sure. Let's get started. [ She may not have meant to, but she totally cheered him up. ]

Okay. It's probably in the supply room, so...

[Off they go!]
