Week 5.

WEEK 5 Another week has passed; another two people have died. Tsubasa Hanekawa and Nachetanya Loei Piena Augustra have joined the ranks of the deceased. Whatever you may have thought about them in the end, one thing hovers heavy over the group: the fact that neither their compassion nor their ambition was enough to keep them alive in here. Is yours? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... And of course, with another successful trial comes a new addition to the building, another corridor opening up on the west side of the building. The doors leading to it branch off of the hallways leading to the second and fourth sections of the building; have those doors always been there? You can't remember... It's a new week. Of course, that means you've been here for over a month, and your stay doesn't seem to be coming to a close yet. PATIENTS REMAINING: 22

If you insist. [And there goes a white piece put near one of the corners of the board. Might as well keep a conversation going while they play, thought.]

What do you like to do in your free time aside from draw, if I might ask?

I don't have many hobbies, to be honest.

[Placing her own piece near a corner as well.]

... Though sometimes I'll visit the library after school. [An embarrassed pause] Um... ghost stories are the most interesting to me.

[Another piece goes right next to his original one.]

I don't make a habit of reading them myself, but I do know that some find them appealing. Is it just fascination with the idea?

Mm, something of that nature.

[That's apparently all she'll say on the matter for now. Sakura places another piece near a different corner.]

And you? You said you weren't familiar with these games, so I assume this isn't your usual hobby.

[There goes one more piece being put down somewhere on the board!]

It isn't, no. While I have played some chess before, I rarely have enough free time on my hands to try anything more than casual matches with some acquaintances, much less learn an entirely new game.

What is it that you do?

[She can barely remember what's on everyone's profiles at this point, and while she muses, she also puts down another piece on the board]

[Clack. There goes another piece. In all fairness, while his profile technically lists his occupation, it's not immediately obvious unless people are familiar with what Gjallarhorn actually does.]

I'm a soldier. I'm currently serving as the commander of Gjallarhorn's Outer Earth Orbit Regulatory Joint Fleet.

[Somehow he manages not to trip all over that name when he says it?!]

Is that the impression you get from soldiers? I have to admit that isn't the first time I've been told something of that nature though.

Well... not that I know much about soldiers, but I assume they'd be well-trained for all kinds of situations.
