Week 5.

WEEK 5 Another week has passed; another two people have died. Tsubasa Hanekawa and Nachetanya Loei Piena Augustra have joined the ranks of the deceased. Whatever you may have thought about them in the end, one thing hovers heavy over the group: the fact that neither their compassion nor their ambition was enough to keep them alive in here. Is yours? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... And of course, with another successful trial comes a new addition to the building, another corridor opening up on the west side of the building. The doors leading to it branch off of the hallways leading to the second and fourth sections of the building; have those doors always been there? You can't remember... It's a new week. Of course, that means you've been here for over a month, and your stay doesn't seem to be coming to a close yet. PATIENTS REMAINING: 22

[In an almost uncharacteristic action, Kogami places a gentle hand on Danny's head and pats it.]

I don't think that proved anything. At least I'm glad I've met you.

[Of all the things Danny was expecting in response, that wasn't it.]

Really?

[It's asked rather quietly, uncharacteristic in his own way. He's not used to being treated this kindly, or even having people say that they were glad to have met him. Not without expecting a backhanded comment attached like Cathy would, or because he was a useful tool for them, like Gray...]

[He doesn't move his hand yet, patting his head a few more times with that same gentleness.

The way he response keeps a gentle smile on Kogami's face like he'd just been told something no one has told him before. Given what Danny's told him, maybe that is the truth.]

Really. I mean it.

[doctorize]

[... Nope, can't do it, can't look Kogami in the eye as he looks down now despite how much that actually means to him. Not unless he wants to embarrass himself really fast by crying in front of someone, let alone Kogami.]

I... I see. It makes me really happy to hear that.

[Even if his tone is rather disbelieving when he says it.]

I do mean it, Doc.

[Only saying that because he totally can hear that disbelieving tone of his.]

[You wouldn't mean that, if you knew...

And maybe that's why Danny has gone completely quiet now as he brings his hands up to his eyes here.]

[He won't prod further here. This isn't a scene to have in the media room. So he retracts his hand and instead focuses on his monitor again, attempting to put in program codes once more.]

[And that, Kogami, is why he likes you as you will give him space when he needs it.

Once he's okay again, he'll look over your shoulder here.]

What are you doing?

I'm trying to enter a series of commands to see if we can somehow either hack into these or communicate with our hostages.

[However, it's to real no avail as there's nothing coming on the screens other than the hostages and it looks like he's just tapping random buttons.]

Do you suppose they prepared for someone that might try to do that?

[because it doesn't look like you're having any success there, buddy]

Probably. I just figured I'd try at least.

[That and it could be the command codes he knows aren't compatible with 120 years in the past.]
