WEEK 5 With the deaths of AZ, Brady Russell, McKenzie Mitchell, and Walter White, it's probably starting to feel less crowded around here, isn't it? But there isn't going to be a break from your situation - a new day in here should remind you of that. Two people were murdered in an attempt to escape and one had Juri's help to take his own life. How many more will die this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Checking the rules when you wake up will reveal that there's been a rule change; another reminder of things you've lost, and things you may have yet to lose. Of course, with the start of a new week, another set of doors has opened up - once again, they can be found in the western corridor, jutting downwards toward the south. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; after the weekend's trial, you probably deserve it. COMPETITORS REMAINING: 19

[To be honest, it's actually nice seeing Katniss expanding her horizons with cooking--first this morning with making pancakes, and now again in the evening with something new, perhaps?]

Katniss, hello! What are you going to prepare this time, if you don't mind my asking?

[flagitate]

Hey, Cilan.

[ Does she look a little sheepish? Maybe. ]

I'm not really sure. There are a lot of things I could make, but I don't know what I can make.

[cilantro]

Well... what do you want to make?

[Because that's the important question here, as far as Cilan's concerned.]

[flagitate]

Maybe a soup. And-- [ ... ] Cheese buns.

[cilantro]

Oh, that sounds like an excellent idea! Is there anything that we can do to help?

[flagitate]

I don't know what kind of soup to even make. What goes good in soup?

[ They don't have wild dog here, Cilan. ]

[cilantro]

Oh, plenty of things! There's different vegetables you can choose from, like tomatos, carrots, leeks, green beans, peas, and potatos, or even including various spices like parsley, oregano, or cilantro that could be used for added flavor when blended together, which makes for a soup that tastes delicious, not to mention being good for one's health!

[Really, he could go on all day about different soups you could make.]

[flagitate]

[ Wow. She's never had some of those before, but if Cilan says they're good, then she trusts him. For a while, she seems to consider something--probably the ingredients. ]

Tomato soup? What goes good in that?

[cilantro]

Well, there's the tomatos of course, and there's onions and cloves that you chop and add in as well: when blended together in a broth with some pepper, salt, and other spices and ingredients, it makes for a wonderful home-made soup!

And, I can happily say that all of the ingredients you would need for it are here in the kitchen, so if you'd like to make some, it can certainly be accomplished!

[flagitate]

That does sound pretty good. So I just dump it all in a pot?

[ ... katniss. ]

[cilantro]

[Ah...]

Not quite, or at least not immediately all at once. You'll have to make sure to chop all of your vegetables properly first, as well as making sure that the stove is at the right temperature before everything will mix and blend in well together.

[flagitate]

Oh.

[ ...

She's reaching for some tomatoes, though, and washing them thoroughly before grabbing a knife. ]

So what's the right temperature?

[cilantro]

You're going to want to fill a pot with water and place it on the stove, turning this dial here. [Indicating the one in question as he continues--] Once the water starts to simmer, that's when you'll know that you're ready to start adding ingredients into it.

[flagitate]

How big of a pot are we talking?

[cilantro]

[In lieu of a verbal response this time, he takes out a large soup pot out of the cabinet nearby and holds it out for her to take. Here you go, friend.]

[flagitate]

[ Okay, that works. Katniss takes the pot and fills it up about halfway with water. ]

Is that enough?

[cilantro]

Yes, that should be enough! Now, do what I told you before with setting it on one of the burners of the stove here, and turn that dial there up to the highest setting.

[flagitate]

[ She does just that! ]

So we just wait? Or start on the other stuff.

[cilantro]

Multi-tasking would be good, in this case: you can use this opportunity to chop your vegetables and make sure they're ready to be added to the pot when the time comes to do so.

[flagitate]

[ Right. Getting to the vegetables now. ]

So how should I chop them, anyway? Big, little--?
