Week 5.

WEEK 5 With the deaths of AZ, Brady Russell, McKenzie Mitchell, and Walter White, it's probably starting to feel less crowded around here, isn't it? But there isn't going to be a break from your situation - a new day in here should remind you of that. Two people were murdered in an attempt to escape and one had Juri's help to take his own life. How many more will die this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Checking the rules when you wake up will reveal that there's been a rule change; another reminder of things you've lost, and things you may have yet to lose. Of course, with the start of a new week, another set of doors has opened up - once again, they can be found in the western corridor, jutting downwards toward the south. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; after the weekend's trial, you probably deserve it. COMPETITORS REMAINING: 19

I'll probably break the damn thing. [SO OF COURSE HE'S GOING he'll just take the mallet and...] You just smash 'em as they pop up, right?

Yeah, pretty much. They pop up randomly, so.

Got it. [and now he just turns on the game however that is done

and now we wait for the enemy to reveal itself.] Do you have things like this, back in your world?

No, nothing like this. We'd have to use real animals to do anything like this.

[ .... that was a joke, probably.

I believe this is how farmers deal with pests, in the Reach. [killin the fuck outta these moles. he misses a few, but those he does hit, it's pretty hard.] 'Course, I've never actually been to a farm, so I wouldn't know for sure.

Right. Since you're a king.

What's the Reach?

Since I'm a king. And the lands I was raised in weren't the most arable ones, either. Not too much farming going on there.

Now, if I'd been fostered in the Reach, that'd be a different story. Lots of farming, all sorts of things that get transported all over the kingdom. The wine I had the other day was made there. Still can't figure out how he managed it for the life of me.

Sounds like a boring place to live.

[ ... katniss. ]

Same way he brought us here, probably. He managed to put a loaf of bread from my home in there. Asking him won't lead to anything useful, though.

Terribly dull. That's why they're all stuck up their own arses about knighthood; tourneys are about the only fun they have.

[pause] Stale bread, surely.

Tourneys?

[ ... ]

It wasn't stale, actually.

Tournaments. Lords host that the knights of the land can come participate in; there's jousting, archery, the melee-- that was always my specialty. But, I'm too old to compete anymore. I merely host them, now. [way too frequently...]

... Now, I can see why the wine would be fine, but a loaf of bread would go wrong quick if it were just sitting in that machine, don't you think?

[flagitate]

Huh. Like contests, right? You really do that stuff with archery?

[ She's interested...! ]

Well, yeah. I don't know how he did it. But it definitely wasn't stale.

Aye, they compete to see who can shoot straightest. Whoever wins gets a prize, usually a bag of gold. And sometimes they miss and murder someone in the crowd. [y'know, fun stuff.]

... Hm. [curious, curious...]

[flagitate]

Remind me to somehow visit your world. I'd wipe the floor with everyone.

[ ... ]

I don't get it, either, but I'm not complaining.

If we somehow manage to get home [and he, uh. lives. somehow.], I'll throw a whole tourney for the lot of you! I'd love to see their faces when some foreign girl wins the whole thing.

... Of course, the men in the Reach might complain if you're not a knight. [pause] So, I'll just have to knight you.

Or you could just let them be mad. What are they going to do, banish me?

Throw stones, probably. [said... casually...]

I've half a mind to do it, now. You're twice as brave as most of the sers back home. Better fighter, too.

I can handle rocks.

[ Now that's a compliment. ]

You really don't have to do that. There's not a lot of people I'd want to be a knight for.
