Week 3.

WEEK 3

Grace and Doug are dead. It seems that there isn't anything more to do but mourn your losses and try to move forward. The Transmitter's rules still hang in every room, a reminder of the only means of escaping this place.

But surely no one else will give into them, right?

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Once again, however, it seems your efforts won't go unrewarded; another set of corridors have opened up, much in the same fashion as the other new area did last week. With them come new rooms to explore; maybe some of them will be to your liking.

Or perhaps it's better to say that hopefully some of them will; after all, if the Transmitter gets her way, you may be here for a very, very long time.

PATIENTS REMAINING: 26

Have you considered eating lemons?

[ this might seem like a random question from the bunny girl who is in the midst of eating an apple here, kinda lurking around behind him as he's working on the hamburgers.

... what is this meat prep style? ]
carnivorously: (46)

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-06-19 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
They're tart and sour, so no. Why?

[His prep style is just getting some ground beef, adding some spices like oregano, chopped onions, garlic, and pressing it into a patty before he throws it into a frying pan.]
nachetanya: (Beyond the Dark Portal)

[personal profile] nachetanya 2017-06-19 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Well, mixing them with water could remove the smell of ash from my hair. So eating it might clear out your mouth too.

[ #logic.

She never said she knew chemistry. ]

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-06-19 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
My tastebuds are already sensitive from not smoking almost an entire day, so trying to clean my mouth out in any sense would make it worse.

[It's nice being able to taste food better, but he's really not used to food having a strong taste (or a general taste at all).]
nachetanya: (Journey to Un'Goro)

[personal profile] nachetanya 2017-06-19 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh would it...? But lemons have a very pleasant flavor.

[ . . . um ]
carnivorously: (77)

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-06-19 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
They're nice as a seasoning or to help flavor something, however, by themselves they're far too sour and tart for my liking.
nachetanya: (and the Undine)

[personal profile] nachetanya 2017-06-19 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, really? I suppose that's the case with most people here...

[ She sure is slicing a lemon now though. ]
carnivorously: (58)

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-06-19 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
In the end, it really does boil down to everyone's individual taste.

[And flipping his patty to the other side so it cooks evenly.]
nachetanya: (Journey to Un'Goro)

[personal profile] nachetanya 2017-06-19 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
So what are you actually making now?

[ Curious!! ]
carnivorously: (49)

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-06-20 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
Hamburgers.

[He thought it would be obvious, but right, everyone here is really different, aren't they?]
nachetanya: (Sparkle)

[personal profile] nachetanya 2017-06-20 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
[ Walking around him for a better angle...

... ]

So that's... meat? I believe?
carnivorously: (43)

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-06-20 07:17 am (UTC)(link)
It is. Though it's more genuine meat than what I have in my time. It's interesting to see it here and honestly, it's nice, too.

[In a time where synthetic foods exist...]
nachetanya: (Dream Drop Distance)

[personal profile] nachetanya 2017-06-20 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
... What is non-genuine meat?

[ . . . and what sort of meet is this. Deer? No, not deer. Huh. ]
carnivorously: (23)

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-06-20 07:27 am (UTC)(link)
Ninety-nine percent of our food is synthetic, made of an ingredient called Hyper-Oats, which is a genetically modified grain. Though given other advancements of my times, it's easy to put flavor into our foods as well the dietary supplements we need. So hamburgers?

[He gently touches the top of his frying patty with his spatula.]

Instead of being made of cow meat, they're just a fancy grain with protein supplements. Though there is something nice about eating genuine food here, I think.
nachetanya: (The League of Explorers)

[personal profile] nachetanya 2017-06-20 07:30 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, this is cow? [ She tilts her head ] . . . I didn't know cow meat could be made to look like this.

[ Huh. She nods though and looks back at him with - confusion? That's... huh. ]

A grain? So... your people eat diet entirely made of wheat or maygrass flavored like other things?
carnivorously: (31)

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-06-20 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
It's ground beef. Normally, it would look like a regular muscle, however, it has it's uses like this.

[So it can make his favorite food, kk. In any case, he'll take the now done patty and put it on a plate.]

And yes, we do. It's the only way our economy and people can survive while isolated from the rest of the world.
nachetanya: (Legacy of the Void)

[personal profile] nachetanya 2017-06-20 07:35 am (UTC)(link)
... Why? If you can grow that grain, surely that means your soil's fertile.

[ FANTASY MEXICO MAN. ]
carnivorously: (99)

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-06-20 07:40 am (UTC)(link)
There's a lack of land. Japan is crowded, so we can't have farmland, and there's hardly any wild animals.

[So there you have it, while Kogami finishes preparing his food buy putting some condiments on a bun.]
nachetanya: (and the Undine)

[personal profile] nachetanya 2017-06-20 07:44 am (UTC)(link)
[ A lack of land... ah, that would make sense, wouldn't it?

... She'll ask Tsubasa about this all later. She's from Japan too, right? She sort of makes room for Kogami to do what he need to do, but also goes back to get herself some grapes? Yes, grapes sound nice. ]

How did your people get so isolated, then?
carnivorously: (61)

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-06-20 11:11 am (UTC)(link)
It's what we chose for ourselves. Or rather what Sibyl chose. Perhaps so that no outsiders can contaminate our system.

[So, right now their fucked up system is a Japan only thing!]
nachetanya: (Cataclysm)

[personal profile] nachetanya 2017-06-20 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Oh, huh? Weird. She pops some grapes on the table and begins to eat them one and one... ]

I wonder how much land this place has that they can afford to grind up cows.
carnivorously: (23)

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-06-20 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Must be enough they can give us a good selection of meats.
nachetanya: (Skyward Sword)

[personal profile] nachetanya 2017-06-20 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Not to mention all these fruits. That level of wealth is more than on par with some countries' royal families.

They would have to be rich to pull something like this off.
nachetanya: (Reign of Chaos)

They would. Or control all of the means of power.
