Week 3.

WEEK 3

Grace and Doug are dead. It seems that there isn't anything more to do but mourn your losses and try to move forward. The Transmitter's rules still hang in every room, a reminder of the only means of escaping this place.

But surely no one else will give into them, right?

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Once again, however, it seems your efforts won't go unrewarded; another set of corridors have opened up, much in the same fashion as the other new area did last week. With them come new rooms to explore; maybe some of them will be to your liking.

Or perhaps it's better to say that hopefully some of them will; after all, if the Transmitter gets her way, you may be here for a very, very long time.

PATIENTS REMAINING: 26

[OOC: Welcome to week three of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!

If you'd like to get in contact with the Transmitter, you can do so through text or the phone in your room!]
aspiringly: (that's quite the tale you have there.)

As much as anyone can expect someone in my position to have, I suppose. As glamorous as it sounds to be part of an organization that upholds peace, it's not always as beautiful as they make it sound.
crywiththesaints: Angry in shadow (frozen my body rises through the dark)

[personal profile] crywiththesaints 2017-06-22 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
Hard to end conflict without partaking in conflict. That's how it always is.
aspiringly: (don't you think it's a fine day?)

A necessary evil, as you'd say. After all, if the alternative is war that would ravage the Earth, then Gjallarhorn's position is justified.
crywiththesaints: Mulling something over (now arise)

[personal profile] crywiththesaints 2017-06-23 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose that depends on whether the world is worth it to you. Most would say that it is.
aspiringly: (that's quite the tale you have there.)

[personal profile] aspiringly 2017-06-23 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
The way you say it almost makes it sound like you have no interest in those affairs.

[Like she's just detached from everything else.]
crywiththesaints: Addressing a group (go and open your eyes)

[personal profile] crywiththesaints 2017-06-23 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I've got plenty of interest in the world. It's just how it is, and naturally, I sought to understand it.
aspiringly: (don't you think it's a fine day?)

[personal profile] aspiringly 2017-06-23 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
My mistake, then. But in that case, what answer did you find, if any?
crywiththesaints: Critical look (and the past that it leaves)

[personal profile] crywiththesaints 2017-06-24 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
Are you sure you wish to know? It isn't a light topic.
aspiringly: (that's quite the tale you have there.)

[personal profile] aspiringly 2017-06-25 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
If it's a chance to learn from my elders, I would be remiss not to take it. If you don't mind, that is.
crywiththesaints: Turning around (this coffin that holds me tight)

[personal profile] crywiththesaints 2017-06-26 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
In that case... What do you think "life" is?
aspiringly: (not a bad outcome.)

[personal profile] aspiringly 2017-06-26 07:00 am (UTC)(link)
[Life, huh. There's a number of different ways that could be interpreted.]

That would depend. If you're asking for a strict definition, then it would be the time that an organism is able to exist and propagate. But otherwise, I would say it's the struggle to survive that separates the living from the inanimate.
crywiththesaints: Unimpressed look (you're caught in loneliness again)

[personal profile] crywiththesaints 2017-06-26 01:27 pm (UTC)(link)
That's true. An empty struggle where all living beings drag one another down to continue to survive. I used to believe that there was more, but I haven't for a very long time now.
aspiringly: (don't you think it's a fine day?)

[personal profile] aspiringly 2017-06-27 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
But is it so empty even if there's something to aspire to? Even if you see the struggle itself as meaningless, much can be accomplished in its wake.
crywiththesaints: Mulling something over (now arise)

[personal profile] crywiththesaints 2017-06-28 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
Oh? You're a surprisingly hopeful person.
aspiringly: (that's quite the tale you have there.)

[personal profile] aspiringly 2017-06-28 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Is it really that strange? I think most people would say that they have something to keep them going.
crywiththesaints: Critical look (and the past that it leaves)

[personal profile] crywiththesaints 2017-06-28 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps. But many more are lost, and you have seen combat.
aspiringly: (pirates. i think pirates would win.)

[personal profile] aspiringly 2017-06-29 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
[...]

And yet, even tragedies and deaths can have meaning. Some foundations wouldn't have existed if it weren't for the sacrifices others have made.
crywiththesaints: Judging (don't fear the shadows)

[personal profile] crywiththesaints 2017-06-29 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
You're right, of course. Perhaps that's what will end the experiment eventually.
