Week 3.
Grace and Doug are dead. It seems that there isn't anything more to do but mourn your losses and try to move forward. The Transmitter's rules still hang in every room, a reminder of the only means of escaping this place. But surely no one else will give into them, right? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Once again, however, it seems your efforts won't go unrewarded; another set of corridors have opened up, much in the same fashion as the other new area did last week. With them come new rooms to explore; maybe some of them will be to your liking. Or perhaps it's better to say that hopefully some of them will; after all, if the Transmitter gets her way, you may be here for a very, very long time. |

[OOC: Welcome to week three of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Transmitter, you can do so through text or the phone in your room!]

If it's information you want, it be might be faster to ask the damn intercom. Whoever's using it is chatty enough that they'd probably answer whatever you asked.

His job is to do as he pleases. ]
Mm. Guess it is. [ He rotates the canvas 180 degrees to look at it from another angle. ] What if nothing happens?
no subject
work of artexperimental piece, will you? Not that he actually cares, though. Even if Mikoto wanted to make more stray marks or even rip it in half, it wouldn't make much of a difference to him.]If nothing happens, that's still an observation to be noted. If necessary, the conditions can also be changed to see if it results in a different outcome.
no subject
Not that it was an attempt to be artistic in the first place, he supposes. Mikoto lets it fall to the ground without much care 'cause even that is more than it deserves. ]
Saying it that way makes it seem like you're planning on doing this for a while. You really think there's something to be gained here?
no subject
Or not. But he'll watch the canvas fall to the ground. Well if that isn't rude he doesn't know what is.]
Considering that we haven't made much headway in finding any other escape route, it's worth a try. I won't deny there's an obvious risk, but I doubt that would improve much the longer we stay here regardless.
[Even if he doesn't catch someone red-handed, at least any information on how it's happening - whether it's a secret passage or a room or anything - would help.]
no subject
Probably won't. [ He's prepared to be patient despite that. Well, that and he's not in a hurry to leave. From how relaxed he always looks this should be more than obvious.
Speaking of unrelated things... Mikoto glances around the room, transparently searching for something. Apparently it's not too hard to find because he stops looking, makes a thoughtful "hm" sound, then lifts up one of the woefully unjudged canvases. He pushes it toward McGillis. ] Hold this.
no subject
But that's... kind of a non sequitur, Mikoto. He'll raise an eyebrow at that, at least slightly.]
All right.
[So here he is, just holding a canvas at the whim of a freeloader??]
no subject
It is, but fuck it your thing was boring him and clearly something about this experiment has piqued his interest. Perhaps, deep down inside, he has the soul of an artist...! Will his hidden talents come to the surface here and now, inspiring even someone as icy as McGillis to shed tears of unending joy...!?
Maybe. Probably not.
Mikoto sweeps across the room anyway and picks up three things: a brush, red paint, and a piece of cardboard. He brings all three with him (and when he approaches McGillis he carelessly steps on the canvas he discarded as an extra "fuck you" to it) and prepares the paint on the cardboard quickly. Once that's done, he dips the brush and writes one word on the middle of the canvas.
Yeah. ]
no subject
But alright, he'll stand here and let Mikoto finish his masterpiece. ...Why couldn't this be done while the cardboard is on an easel, anyways? The world may never know, because McGillis doesn't think to ask after seeing what's been painted over that lonely white landscape.
...
Well okay then.]
Is that all you wanted to do?
no subject
"Well okay then" is probably the best reaction there can be. Mikoto doesn't look especially proud of his work, likewise he feels absolutely zero sense of accomplishment. That's... something? Right? Whatever. Now that he's finished his life's work, he (also carelessly) deposits the three items he gathered onto a nearby table. ]
Yeah.
no subject
Anyways, McGillis sets the canvas down on an easel without any further ado and picks up the fallen canvas too, while he's at it. After taking another second to look at Mikoto's... "piece", he'll turn back to the other man.]
Was there a reason behind that, or should I simply classify that as a whim of yours?
no subject
Hm... There's a pause before he responds, 'cause he's not positive he feels like explaining in-depth. ]
I want to see what'll happen. [ Nope, he doesn't. ]
no subject
And wow he can see that this will be like pulling teeth, won't it!!]
Do you mean with regards to what I'm investigating, or something else?
no subject
And yeah, probably. There are a lot of things in this world Mikoto finds too irritating to explain. ]
Hm. [ A beat. ] Yeah, you could say it's related.
no subject
Ahem. McGillis figures it's probably better to be blunt with Mikoto though; any polite niceties likely wouldn't make much of an impression anyways, so it's best to get to the point.]
What's your reasoning, then?
no subject
Sorry, but reason doesn't have much to do with it. [ He shrugs. Here you go, McGillis. The crappy explanation. ] I just thought you might learn something if there was a reaction.
no subject
Crappy explanation aside, at least there was some rationale behind it and there is some merit in checking something like that even if the actual means was kind of... strange.]
It is true that it's something to consider, if we take it to be a person who's responsible. However, if that's the case, it feels as if it may be more productive to send a more specific message and see if that generates a response.
no subject
... Hmm. Do what you want with it. [ With that, he shrugs and turns his back to the canvas and McGillis. They could probably talk more, but he doesn't have anything else to contribute.
Might as well leave. ]
