Week 5.

WEEK 5 Another week has passed; another two people have died. Tsubasa Hanekawa and Nachetanya Loei Piena Augustra have joined the ranks of the deceased. Whatever you may have thought about them in the end, one thing hovers heavy over the group: the fact that neither their compassion nor their ambition was enough to keep them alive in here. Is yours? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... And of course, with another successful trial comes a new addition to the building, another corridor opening up on the west side of the building. The doors leading to it branch off of the hallways leading to the second and fourth sections of the building; have those doors always been there? You can't remember... It's a new week. Of course, that means you've been here for over a month, and your stay doesn't seem to be coming to a close yet. PATIENTS REMAINING: 22

[ This is such a great Sunday for everyone, isn't it? Looks like Rose isn't the only one with the idea of walking around late, and before Ryoji knows it he bumps into her. He blinks a few times, looking at how scared she looks before speaking up. ]

Did you see something frightening? [ That's probably not the first thing you should say to someone who you accidentally walked into. ]

[barehands]

[She gives a sharp gasp when they collide, just inches from being a scream, and takes a deep breath. The smile she gives is reflexive and fairly unconvincing.]

I, um... I'm o-okay,

[cadmiums]

It's late, you should be careful. [He bumped into her, but somehow this is the first thing that comes to mind. Nevermind that he's out just as late.]

[barehands]

[She pauses for a long moment, trying to decide what to say.]

Um... It's not Thursday.

[cadmiums]

I know, but after last week...

[ Could they really trust patterns like they trusted people? ]

[barehands]

...I guess so.

[Her eyes narrow slightly as she looks at the ground from the memory of the last trial, but she takes a breath.]

You should be careful too, then.

[cadmiums]

Maybe, but I don't really get scared. [ He's silent for a moment, like that reminds him of something. ]

Are you OK, Rose?

[barehands]

Even if you aren't scared, I know everyone wants you to be okay. So...

[She gives a nod, though it's a bit shaky.]

Y-Yeah, I am.

[cadmiums]

[ ... ]

The same goes for you. Did you need help with something?

[barehands]

Help...?

[Her head tilts slightly, confused.]

What do you mean?

[cadmiums]

Ah, did you just feel like going for a late night walk?

[barehands]

Ah, I kind of made a mess in my room on accident... I was going to get something so I could clean it up. B-But, you don't have to trouble yourself.

[cadmiums]

I can help you get cleaning supplies, at least. [ He'd normally offer more, but between how they both seem to be feeling he'd rather not overstep. ]

[barehands]

...Are you sure? You don't have to.

[But she doesn't seem like she'll protest much apart from that.]

[cadmiums]

Yeah, I don't mind. What do you need? I have some things in my room too, from when I was carving into my desk earlier today.

[barehands]

You were carving into your desk? Why?

[She hesitates.]

I need, um, water and some sort of cleaner, and a mop.

[cadmiums]

Ah, it's probably easier if I show you. [ He thinks. ]

I have cleaner in my room, so we'd just need to grab the mop and water.

[barehands]

[She nods.]

Do you want to go to your room first, then?

[cadmiums]

Sure. [ The trip to his room is relatively uneventful because thankfully this isn't a Thursday. He'll invite her to step in without hesitation, and there are a couple of things to look at here. At some point there were duct-tape stars on the wall, but all that remains is a moon.

His desk however, is probably what catches her attention (and where the cleaner is). When he said he was carving into his desk he wasn't kidding-- there's little bare space that isn't taken up by an engraving of an an origami crane , and is that a unicorn ? There's also a small carving in the corner bordered by a heart, but it's too small to really see from here. ]

[barehands]

[She does indeed notice the desk first and walks towards it with a curious expression, carefully running her hand over the engraving of the crane.]

It looks pretty.

[cadmiums]

Thank you... it was easier than carving a real crane. [ But unicorns are just fine apparently. ]

[barehands]

What made you decide to do it?

[cadmiums]

It's a gift for [ Stops, pauses. ] my girlfriend. She likes cranes and unicorns, and it's actually pretty relaxing to do.

[barehands]

Oh, right! Because she can see into the rooms, right?

[cadmiums]

Yeah, and there's no rule against marking up the desks or decorating our rooms.
