Week 5.
Another week has passed; another two people have died. Tsubasa Hanekawa and Nachetanya Loei Piena Augustra have joined the ranks of the deceased. Whatever you may have thought about them in the end, one thing hovers heavy over the group: the fact that neither their compassion nor their ambition was enough to keep them alive in here. Is yours? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... And of course, with another successful trial comes a new addition to the building, another corridor opening up on the west side of the building. The doors leading to it branch off of the hallways leading to the second and fourth sections of the building; have those doors always been there? You can't remember... It's a new week. Of course, that means you've been here for over a month, and your stay doesn't seem to be coming to a close yet. |

[OOC: Welcome to week five of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Transmitter, you can do so through text or the phone in your room!]

Um... I've never really played any of these before.

[Apparently he's into strategy, if one of those stacked piles says anything about it, although that might not be obvious unless she decides to check up on the boxes themselves. ...Incidentally there's also a pile with greatest hits such as M.C. Hammer's Rap a Round, some game about spaghetti and Candyland too, which he'll occasionally add to as he sorts through all of these.]

I guess I'd prefer thinking games. [It's a shot in the dark, really. Her experience is extremely limited and ended the moment her brother lost one game of checkers. He never bothered playing boardgames with her after that]
no subject
Then we seem to have similar tastes. I also tend to prefer ones that don't operate on luck, although I don't mind them as long as they're not the only deciding factor.
[Because what's the point in playing if nothing you do really impacts the game at all?]
no subject
Then why don't you pick for us? As long as you don't mind explaining the rules.
no subject
he would totally agree tbhThere is something that he's wanted to try, though!]
Very well. Are you familiar with Go?
no subject
[That doesn't seem to deter her any. Sakura looks intrigued]
I wouldn't mind trying it.

[He'll abandon his board game sorting for sitting at one of the marked tables, pulling out a set of stones for both of them from wherever they're stored.]
The basic rules are simple enough, but there's enough variety in the number of available moves that strategies can end up quite complex.

[She also takes a seat, hands poised neatly on the table while she watches the other set up]

[He'll cordon an area off... somehow so that they're playing with a 9x9 grid. Who wants to play a game who goes on for hours anyways. Apparently not McGillis?]
The goal of the game is to create a larger territory than your opponent by strategic placement of stones.
[Also blah blah blah infodump about the minutae of the rules here because what is RPing all of those anyways? But rest assured, he'll be pretty thorough when it comes to explaining and he'll present examples of some scenarios using the pieces as well. Is he used to this kind of thing or does he just love to hear himself talk??]
Ultimately, I suppose you can look at it as a game about conquest. Now, are you ready to start?
no subject
Yes. Would you like to start?
no subject
What do you like to do in your free time aside from draw, if I might ask?
no subject
[Placing her own piece near a corner as well.]
... Though sometimes I'll visit the library after school. [An embarrassed pause] Um... ghost stories are the most interesting to me.
no subject
I don't make a habit of reading them myself, but I do know that some find them appealing. Is it just fascination with the idea?
no subject
[That's apparently all she'll say on the matter for now. Sakura places another piece near a different corner.]
And you? You said you weren't familiar with these games, so I assume this isn't your usual hobby.
no subject
It isn't, no. While I have played some chess before, I rarely have enough free time on my hands to try anything more than casual matches with some acquaintances, much less learn an entirely new game.
no subject
[She can barely remember what's on everyone's profiles at this point, and while she muses, she also puts down another piece on the board]
no subject
I'm a soldier. I'm currently serving as the commander of Gjallarhorn's Outer Earth Orbit Regulatory Joint Fleet.
[Somehow he manages not to trip all over that name when he says it?!]
no subject
Aah... that's why you're so meticulous.
[Nodding in what might be approval as she places down her own piece]
no subject
[And there's one other. It looks like he has the beginnings of a boundary on his corner.]
no subject
[She glances at the board, hmmm... another piece is placed down, seemingly at random]
