Trustfell 5: A Good Day to Trust Fall ([personal profile] trustfellowship) wrote in [community profile] trustfelled2017-07-02 11:45 am

Week 5.

WEEK 5

Another week has passed; another two people have died. Tsubasa Hanekawa and Nachetanya Loei Piena Augustra have joined the ranks of the deceased. Whatever you may have thought about them in the end, one thing hovers heavy over the group: the fact that neither their compassion nor their ambition was enough to keep them alive in here.

Is yours?

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; the static blares out early on Sunday, but at least there are no bodies to find today - it seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

And of course, with another successful trial comes a new addition to the building, another corridor opening up on the west side of the building. The doors leading to it branch off of the hallways leading to the second and fourth sections of the building; have those doors always been there? You can't remember...

It's a new week. Of course, that means you've been here for over a month, and your stay doesn't seem to be coming to a close yet.

PATIENTS REMAINING: 22

[He feels the poke and looks at the source. Oh, it's Tohsaka and a second carton of cigarettes that's been found in two days. Bless the vending machine.

Kogami thinks for a moment and pulls out two gray ribbons from his pocket.

They are now silently negotiating a trade.

Her ribbons for his cigarettes.]

[Oh, she looks surprised at that at first. Did he know she liked ribbons? But she does have two she wears daily in her hair, so he probably guessed. Rin hums agreeably and passes the carton off to him in exchange for the ribbons. Trade complete!]

[That and he's seen her put ribbons on the deceased's doors. He figured maybe she could use them for that. Or wear them like she does her ribbons.

Good, that was a good trade.]

How many people are you making sandwiches for?

[He'll tuck the carton under his arm while he's getting some lunch meat, cheese, and mayo as he says that before closing the fridge.]
heritrix: (snowfall)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-07-06 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Don't tell her; the poor girl thinks that with Nachetanya dead, not a soul in this hospital suspects her.]

Just me, and one extra. I'm making this many for variety.

[There's about twelve of them, with three different fillings. But they're all small sandwiches; in the process of having the crusts removed and being cut into triangles, they look like they kind you would find at an english tea party.]

[His lips are sealed.]

Are you trying to impress someone?

[Because you only make that much food to impress someone...]
heritrix: (sway)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-07-06 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
You could say that? But it's not what you think. I don't have any romantic feelings towards this person, but they've been down in the dumps lately.

[Placing the ribbons in her pocket, Rin returns to the sauce bowl and mixes it briskly.]

I can bring you the leftovers later, if there are any. I don't expect we'll eat them all.

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-07-06 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
No thanks. I'd like to live past today.

[He waves it off. Whether he's being sarcastic or not, well, his tone and expression aren't giving it away either way.]
heritrix: (the mighty)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-07-06 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, that's rude.

[She huffs and finishes stirring the sauce, banging the handle of the stirrer on the bowl's rim to shake excess off the spoon and back into the bowl.]

I choose to take that as you acknowledging I'm dangerous instead of a slight. I'm a great cook.

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-07-06 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
It's probably both.

[Listen, Akane's food is terrible too. But he'll eat it... because he likes Akane...]
heritrix: (doom is upon you)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-07-06 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[NO, RIN'S COOKING IS ACTUALLY DELICIOUS... Enough that Shirou Emiya, he who live and breathes in the kitchen, calls it "so good, it's annoying".]

Does Chinese food still exist in the future?
carnivorously: (26)

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-07-06 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
If you mean food that tastes like Chinese food, that would be a yes.

[Listen, the food source is fucking weird in Psycho-Pass, okay?]
heritrix: (your mom)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-07-06 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Depending on your definition of what Chinese food tastes like, I may doubt even that. Those words certainly are ominous.

Ninety-nine percent of our food is made out of a genetically modified grain called Hyper Oats. Our technology allows this grain to be changed into any meal we like.
heritrix: (haha die)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-07-07 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
[...]

You're not allowed to go back to the future, Kogami.
carnivorously: (72)

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-07-07 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, it's the only way to stop imports from happening to Japan. We're completely self-sufficient now thanks to Hyper Oats.
heritrix: (stick 'em up)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-07-07 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
How is that a good thing?! I'm curious about the scientific process of course and their longevity, but you can't subsist off Hyper Oats alone, Kogami! That's as bad as eating nothing but military rations and dehydrated foods, and presumably that's been the case for over twenty years!

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-07-07 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
We still get our necessary dietary intake through supplements. I mean, do you think I could be this well built and healthy otherwise?

[Everyone's seen how muscled up he is. If he weren't getting his necessary supplements, he wouldn't be like this.]

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-07-07 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not just about nutrients, it's about flavor! Culinary wonder, and experience!
carnivorously: (31)

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-07-07 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
And they taste just fine. People still cook in the future and there's still all the distinct food that you see here and taste just like them. Just they all happen to be made of the same ingredients.
heritrix: (the mighty)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-07-07 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
You just say that because you haven't had enough of the real thing. Ooh, that makes me so mad...!

[Rin is apparently in a mood now, giving up the argument but not happy about it. Even by her standards she's unusually high-strung today, and will continue to grumble insensible things as she gets back to work.]
carnivorously: (12)

[personal profile] carnivorously 2017-07-08 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
[He's a little curious why that makes her mad of all things, but yes. He will just make his sandwich now and maybe leave because this is a weird conversation. Go forth and make your tea sandwiches for your date!]
heritrix: (chopper dance)

[personal profile] heritrix 2017-07-08 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
[It probably has something to do with the fact that she's very obviously not slept the entire night and is running on fumes, so her brain to mouth filter has short-circuited.

IT'S FINE.]

I'll show you one of these days. [Mood swings all over the place; she's already looking happier.] Just you wait.
