Week 2.

WEEK 2 With the deaths of Sayaka Maizono and Mallick Scott the first week draws to a close. While you all have varying opinions on what happened and who was to blame, one thing's for sure: the Adjudicator isn't messing around. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, those weird dreams aren't the only new thing around here; those massive double doors on the southern wall of the foyer have opened up, leading down another hallway and ending in what looks like another corridor to the west. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done. Or perhaps for just playing the game. COMPETITORS REMAINING: 28

[ There is a small pause there, but a small light smile. ]

...Yeah, you could say that.

Great! You just sit tight.

[Even though Cilan's been doing a lot of the cooking, they all ought to know their way around a kitchen by now. Archie starts getting shit together.]

Gotta admit, I don't recognize a lot of the stuff in here. What're these eggs from anyway?

Oh yeah, pretty much.

Have any dreams that feel a little more like a recall of something you did?

[ He'll shrug. He doesn't really know either way... but he thinks about it. ]

...Something like taking away our actual memories and giving them back as dreams? That'd be twisted, but not surprising if I take a guess the motive is to confuse us.

[hentopan]

[ He grins.]

I'm not dumbing it down anymore than I would for my vessels. [ But the fact that she's so bold means he actually would bother to answer in the first place.]

[oasisrose]

Your vessels?

You, um, didn't mean to say something like vassals, did you? [She'd rather believe he's some kind of lord than what he just implied.]

[hentopan]

Nope. [ He's watching her reaction closely-- he's already had this talk numerous times.]

I suppose I wouldn't expect a cow to concoct any sort of dangerous scheme.

[ She sits back, waiting for Ferid to take the first turn this time. ]

But I wouldn't assume it was incapable of injuring me, either.

[That one's not a new concept to her, though. And...]

... well, that'd certainly explain why you'd brush off rewriting time as no big deal.

[Because you know who has human vessels where she comes? The patron goddess. That'd put him in the same order of power.]

So what are you, exactly?

There's nothing to fear from weaponless children.

[Ferid makes his first move, playing with another piece and smiling widely at the age old story they fed those in Sanguinem.]

After all, with all the adults dead... there isn't much hope for them outside the walls we're keeping them so protected in. It isn't much a life, but it's all they have now.

Asking me such intimate questions when we've barely even spoken, how forward of you~.

Yeah, well, some things are more important than civility.

[His profile... that's right. He was the one with the strange profession.] "Observer"? So that's not some turn of phrase for a stalker, then?

So that dream was you remembering what you really were?

[ Taking a wild guess. ]

[Well until that day comes--]

What do you suppose should be offered as a substitute then, for the time being?

Ah, there's no need to thank me: it's the least I could do, right?

Ah, I see. [Cilan considers the medical equipment around them, before frowning now.] This room would have been useful, had it been available to us last week.

[Maybe Sayaka's death could have been prevented if there had been an infirmary to bring her to when she hit her head, but instead...]

[ He noticed that pause alright, and seeing as he finds Yuri one of the least boring people here, he'll actually inquire further.]

You gonna elaborate?

Yeah! Since friendship's not really a thiiing around here, though, we could call them, like... "I probably wouldn't murder you" bracelets?

[ ... ]

It's the "hell" part, isn't it? Benevolent had a thing about it, too.

That's... definitely the biggest part. Sorry, I come from a place called Pandora and my dad owns a really awful prison called the Friendship Gulag, I know a thing or two about what names say about a place.

[aaaahhhh oh my gosh, it really is a poke ball... when Cilan takes it from her, he's nearly spinning around with joy here]

What a wonderful taste! Now that there's a Pokemon here, our lives will surely improve significantly!

[Namely of the "we might be able to bust out of here depending on what's inside it" variety, or at the very least introduce people to the wonder of Pokemon now. Still, he steps back a ways to open it just in case this Pokemon turns out to be particularly big (or god forbid, Archie's Sharpedo) and with a flash of light, the fish thing appears on the floor here.]

... Ah, this is a Stunfisk! This is a Pokemon that's commonly found in Unova, and is considered to have an amazing flavor of stealth to it in comparison to other Pokemon, due to it's ability to camouflage itself when lying on the ground or against the bottom of a lake or river... and this one appears to have been well-taken care of from what I can see of it: healthy in size, no discoloration that I can see...

[The Pokemon, who at first had probably given Katniss a brief "oh hey we remember you, you let us out for like five seconds only to put us back in again" look, it's expression almost seems happy for a second when it then lays eyes on Cilan... only for it to very slowly fall into an expression of confusion the more it listens to Cilan talk. Why is our trainer acting like he doesn't recognize us...]

I'm not sure. Milk? Or maybe juice?

Then again, there seems to be a lot of people with a taste for tea... [She stares off, thinking.] I should probably give it a proper chance sometime soon.

[oasisrose]

[Brady. We do not use knives for firewood. They don't work well.]

It looks like it. ... hm.

Maybe one of these days, we should set up a big trading session? We could set it up like a marketplace, maybe, where everyone shows off all the items they got from the vending machine in one of the hallways...

That way, if any of these things belong to someone, they can point them out and say, "Hey, that's mine." Rather than us guessing what in here is trash and what's somebody's treasure.

Oh, you absolutely should! There's a wide variety of flavors that tea can have, so I'm sure that you'd be able to find one here that is to your taste!

[One that isn't chamomile, even, since that one has apparently turned people off for a while now, thanks Sayaka.]

Really? And... well, do we have all those flavors, here?

I mean, I thought this place was already a little too rich for my blood. But tea's quite a luxury where I come from. There are some cities that will set up fancy little tea shops, and charge you prices that would make you think they were brewing it with holy water...

But, I mean, if I can get used to the soft beds and drawn baths, maybe it's time I took another step?
