Week 2.

WEEK 2 With the deaths of Sayaka Maizono and Mallick Scott the first week draws to a close. While you all have varying opinions on what happened and who was to blame, one thing's for sure: the Adjudicator isn't messing around. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, those weird dreams aren't the only new thing around here; those massive double doors on the southern wall of the foyer have opened up, leading down another hallway and ending in what looks like another corridor to the west. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done. Or perhaps for just playing the game. COMPETITORS REMAINING: 28

[Well that...sure is a sign? Archie will show up sooner or later, mostly out of curiosity.]

Are people havin' weird dreams?

Oh yeah, pretty much.

Have any dreams that feel a little more like a recall of something you did?

Hm...well, I dreamed about watchin' a couple of my guys get into it with some trainer a few days ago. Didn't seem that weird. That's just normal stuff, y'know?

[hesperos]

Trainer? Are you some kind of gym guy?

{ He's just curious ngl. }

Ha! Nah, that's Cilan's thing. The rest of us, we're just your normal Pokemon trainers!

[Your normal, non-criminal trainers. That's them!]

He told ya what that is, or do I get the honor?

Nope he didn't tell me anything.

[ ... He doesn't know about Pokemon either. ]

So, give me the low down.

Well! Far as I can tell, they're sorta like the animals you people got back home, except for all your animals being completely boring! Pokemon are a lot smarter, and they're damn loyal once they find a trainer they respect.

'Course, you gotta show them your respect too. Some of 'em can do things like shoot lasers, so...it's a partnership, not a pet kinda deal.

Hey, Repede's pretty smart and loyal too, even without being a Pokeyman. Just thought I'd put that out there.

Sounds just similar to the kind of partnership I've got with Repede anyway. Minus the lasers part.

[Oh? That's interesting. He's mostly heard people talk about animals in terms of what they eat.]

Yeah? What's Repede?

Some people would call him just a mutt or dog, but he's really my life-long partner. He's next to me in my profile picture thing that idiot Juri's got hanging up.

[ A small, fond smile. ]

We've been together since he was young. Inseparable, y'know?

Oh, that's what that's called! A dog, huh? He kinda looks like my Mightyena!

[Archie smiles in return.]

But yeah, I get it. It's the same with me and Sharpedo. I've had him ever since he was a little fish.

Mightyena, huh?

[ That sounds like actually a badass name??? ]

Y'know, I think I'd like to see either of those guys someday. Sounds like you've got some awesome partners by your side.

Heh, I do! And if we're lucky, ya might get your chance pretty soon! There can't be that much junk in that vending machine.

Yeah. Really weird dreams.

You too? Or are you just here for the free food?

Nah, not that I can remember.

What kinda weird dreams?

I did dream about visitin' a museum back home a few days ago. Sunday, I guess? Nothin' too weird happened in it - just seemed like a normal day back home.

[flagitate]

Just visiting a museum? That's all?

[Shrug]

Couple of my guys battled some little scamp of a trainer they met there. Got their asses handed to 'em, but no big deal. [Not in the grand scheme of things, at least, or he'd have gotten involved himself.]

[flagitate]

[ Right, the Pokemon thing. In a museum?? ]

What were you doing? Just watching?

[Shrug]

They were just about done when I got there. I'd help train my guys up some if they could get beat that easy, but I'm not gonna come down on some random kid just for bein' better than 'em. It's a fair contest!

[Now, if the kid made a habit of it...ah, well.]

Most people I know, they wouldn't let something like that go. Not easily, anyway.

I've got more important things to do. Losin' battles is just part of bein' a trainer. Besides, it'll give those guys a good reason to work harder!

Nothing like losing to get some serious motivation.

[ ... she can understand that, though! ]

Exactly! You get it!

...'course, it was just a dream anyway. [That's said with a raised eyebrow and a bit of a questioning bent. She's obviously going somewhere, asking everyone about this.]
