Week 2.

WEEK 2 With the deaths of Sayaka Maizono and Mallick Scott the first week draws to a close. While you all have varying opinions on what happened and who was to blame, one thing's for sure: the Adjudicator isn't messing around. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... However, those weird dreams aren't the only new thing around here; those massive double doors on the southern wall of the foyer have opened up, leading down another hallway and ending in what looks like another corridor to the west. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done. Or perhaps for just playing the game. COMPETITORS REMAINING: 28

Yeah. Because I, uh, accidentally killed her kids.

Its fine, I just. I don't know, I thought it was just a guilt dream? Because of... [Sayaka and all.] But maybe I am losing it.

[flagitate]

[ Katniss is quiet for a while. It would be easy to reassure her that it's nothing more than a guilt dream. But Katniss is probably the worst liar in this place--and she might end up making Fern feel even worse. So it's blatant lies or blunt truths. ]

I don't really know, either. [ Here, she looks a little uncomfortable. ] In my dream--there was this boy. Peeta. He--we were both in the Games. And we were really close. Closer than I've ever been with anyone.

It felt... really real. But-- I don't know, it's just--I don't know. Why would I dream about something like that? I've never even thought about--

[ About kissing anyone.

Frustrating. ]

[Ohhhhh boyo. Fern rubs the back of her neck uncomfortably. Does she have to give the talk. She's never had to do that. She's really not ready to do that. But Katniss deserves some kind of advice.]

I've never really, uh, thought about that stuff either. But, uh, the way I hear about it, you can't really control that sort of thing. Its just part of you, sometimes really deep in there.

And in my, uh, "experience", finding someone you're close with is... hard. Finding real closeness takes a lot of effort on both sides. So, uh, if it is real, there's probably a reason for it.

And frankly you don't seem like a person that does stuff for no reason.

[flagitate]

[ Katniss considers that, and she appreciates that Fern's helping--really. It's nice, to have someone act like a mother. Because she hasn't had that since Dad died, so many years ago.

She won't tell Fern that, though. ]

I guess. It's--I don't get close. To people. Other than Prim, and maybe Gale. And Peeta, he-- [ The burnt bread. The dandelion in spring. ] I just know him as the baker boy. So either it's a stupid dream, or it's real, and the Adjudicator's screwed with my memories.

[greenmamabear]

[She leans against the wall thoughtfully.]

Its scary. Opening up. [Take it from someone who had a baby giving it a shot.]

But if there's anything this place has taught me? Anything's possible.

[flagitate]

Yeah. [ ... ] Facing down crazy monkeys is a lot easier than whatever was happening in that dream.
